I was in desperate need for eyelash extensions for several events I had coming up. I am not at all a salon girl and knew absolutely nothing about eyelash extensions. I reached out to Trinh on Yelp and she was extremely flexible with scheduling, informative, and even more personable once I came in for my appointment. Since then, I've become a repeat customer and she's always very flexible with scheduling my refills. Trinh is honestly probably the only person that I will ever go to for eyelash extensions. I've gotten numerous compliments on my eyelashes. She absolutely customizes the extensions to suit your features and your style. She's great about explaining the techniques, she's easy to talk to, but you also have the option to nap since the first time getting extensions can take like 2 hours. I've heard from other people who get extensions elsewhere that they could feel the weight of their extensions, see the glue on their lashes, or that their lashes were damaged after getting extensions. Trinh truly takes the time and uses quality materials so that none of that has happened to me. I don't even notice the extensions unless I happen to be checking them out, everyone tells me how natural the extensions look, and I can still tell that my natural lashes are still healthy and long (just sad and straight without Trinh's extensions). Overall, highly recommend Trinh's salon. I haven't gotten my hair done here yet, but I'm sure I would in the future. read more

I had contemplated back and forth for a couple months on whether I wanted to try someone new for my color and styling. I had come across the yelp reviews and pictures so I finally decided to make an appt. Trinh was in time and ready to start. She knew what I wanted and started right away. I have to say I LOVE MY HAIR ! The style and color came out great ! Although the color isn't exactly what I wanted she told me several times as she was doing my color that it may not turn out the way I want. I let her know that was fine. If your looking for this wonderful salon they are in the Calandros shopping center @ corner of Perkins and Seigan and the Salon sign says " Mia Beauty Bar " I've been suffering from a extremely bad haircut and recently I have heard great things about this salon. Today I couldn't take looking at my bad haircut any longer so luckily Kwang was able to fit me in her schedule. Thank you Kwang she talked with me about what I wanted and checked my hair out and gave me her expert opinion and then she shampooed my hair and gave my head a nice relaxing massage while washing it. She then cut and thinned my hair and I am so happy with my hair now. Most importantly I really like Kwang she was super sweet and I can tell that she is an expert in hair she knows what she's doing. So yay I've found a new salon and a new stylist. They do everything here hair cuts, coloring, hair extensions, make up and even eyelash extensions they do everything here so if you haven't tried this place out yet your missing out on being beautiful !!!! read more

OMG!! Hands down, Trinh is the best!! Where have you been all my time here in Baton Rouge! No one and I mean no one has understood my hair as much as she has. I have ethnic hair; it's not fine, nor is it super think and it's a bit more coarse. With very little direction, just me kinda quickly blabbing about what I needed done with my hair, she executed my vision way above my expectations! I mentioned: layers around the face, thin out lower half, fullness at the top and need something easy to style. And she nailed it!! Usually after my first hair wash & blow dry (post-salon), I am able to tell if it was properly done. My hair is now easy to blowdry, easy to style (with curling iron) and isn't heavy at all. I am way beyond thrilled and will be going to Trinh from here on out. If you are dealing with "ethnic" hair, too, you need to go to her. Don't have ethnic hair? Yes, still go to her because she is thorough and does it all so effortlessly. I don't ever get color jobs done on my hair anymore, but it sure looks like that is one of her specialties. Wow I am so impressed with Trinh. I have been getting lash extensions for quite some time now in Houston and since I've moved to BR I haven't found anyone I've liked. I came in for a new fullset and Trinh finished completely in an hour which was shocking to me but they look amazing and full and I'm so pleased! My least favorite thing about lash extensions has always been the amount of time I have to spend getting them done/redone and Trinh took that away. To be honest I was pretty disappointed. These photos were taken a day after I got my hair done. I was very excited to get my hair done for the first time and Im pretty sure it was the salon owner who was doing my hair. I didn't realize how disappointed I was with the final result until the next day when my friend parted it for me and realized she missed the whole top part of my roots. The color was also not all there which is supposed to be silver (the purple is from shampoo which eventually washed out but the color is still uneven) I was so unsatisfied with my hair that I asked for a partial refund. Even though a no-refund policy isn't stated anywhere online or in the store to my knowledge, she said the best she could do was try to fix it but Ide rather not go back since I didn't get what I needed in the first place. Hair totaled about 200 but it wasn't worth what I spent on it. Also seemed like she didn't do her best and might have taken advantage of the fact that I was young and likely wouldn't have said anything about it. My friend fixed it at home the next day and I honestly think she did a better job despite having no experience. Im no Karen, I just like quality. Haircut wasn't bad though. read more

This is the best salon experience I have had. I have had eyes rolled at me, been ignored, and received hair cuts that even my husband could see were bad. Not only is Trinh friendly, sweet , and kind, but she is ahmazing. Ahmazing. I kinda don't want to leave this review bc I want her to be my secret. She really understands hair color so incredibly well. I don't know how she did what she did but I halfway showed her some pics I had ready and muttered a few things and she knew what was perfect and nailed it. She's a kind reader! I just saw Trinh for the first time today. To start with, I moved here almost 2 years ago and have struggled to find someone who listens to what I want and is able to give me a great cut. It is way TOO overpriced, especially for the end result! I went there to get my hair done for the first time ever, just to treat myself. Just to start off the experience, the employees kept body shaming me and acting like children! They were just sitting around and whispering to each other. I could even hear their whispers, as if they wanted me to hear them talk about my body and hair. I asked for an Ombre. It ended up coming out as chunks of yellow in my dark brown hair. The lady (I forgot her name) doing my hair told me toner is extra. I was already over this hair-do so I refused to spend anymore on it. During the whole bleaching process, the manager was being SUPER loud, they kept getting angry by the customers. (NOT EVEN THE EMPLOYEES). Very unprofessional. This place is way too overrated. When I asked for a refund, they told me my hair was perfectly fine and if I don't like it right now, it will soon fade into an Ombre. I am not stupid, my sisters had all bleached their hair before and my oldest cousin is a hair stylist. I know it will NOT fade. They do not know anything about hair. they will never see me again!
