Ok Ms. Emily absolutely snapped and made me ready for SUMMER. Tbh I was nervous to come back here, but I'm so glad I did. She made my hair look AMAZING. I was feeling bored with my hair and really wanted to go back to balayage. Most salons are booked a few weeks in advance for this, so when I called here they had some good availability for me to come in after work. I'm actually just blown away. I had naturally dark hair and she had me feeling like JLO. She styled it so cute and just had my hair feeling so nice even after all the chemicals to lighten it up. I was a member of this salon for a long time. I genuinely loved going here, but sadly the prices kept going up and up! (Prior to COVID). There was no way I could afford $240 for a full head of highlights. Luckily I found a new salon that does amazing and charges $140. I don't even mind paying up to $200, but $240 for barely below the shoulder hair.. However, I will say the people here are awesome, they really are. The only con is the steep price, but if that doesn't bother you, then go here. The service is really good and they truly do care about customers and the atmosphere is nice. I have been going to this salon for almost 10 years and couldn't imagine going anywhere else. They are now located in Towne Center which is extremely convenient and safe. That staff is nice and hospitable. My stylist was Juli for many years and she was always patient and accommodating of my constant changing desires. She is very bubbly and a pleasure to talk to. My hair stayed healthy and gorgeous through the many changes. When Juli decided to go back to school, I was very hesitant to switch to a new stylist, but Matt has never disappointed. I'm from California where it's not hard to find a good stylist but in Baton Rouge I've gotten my hair done at multiple salons that were overhyped and overpriced and I was appalled with how my hair looked. The one thing that scares me most about salons is the part where I need to make small talk with the hairdresser. It's scary to me, because I am just inept at talking aimlessly, and 3 of the 4 stars here are because my stylist did not bother me with small talk! I couldn't believe my luck. The cut turned out great, and, I was able to come out of the salon without having my brain fried, looking for conversation points! I found out about this place through the Internet and chose to go here just because it's near where I live. It's pricey (my shampoo, haircut, blowdry cost $55 plus tip) because of my student budget, but I thought I'd give myself a treat for making it to the end of the semester. When I got here, I was given a short tour of the place. Thank goodness there was no hard selling...just information about the products they stock and their services: they do stuff like face waxing and makeup here, other than hair. A short wait later, my stylist, Faith, came over. She was quick, efficient, friendly and professional. I showed her some pictures of the type of cut I wanted. Since I have naturally curly frizzy hair, I'm difficult to work with, and most hairstylists just end up giving me a boring layered look. Faith said she'd give me a fringe on one side and layers for volume. Sounded good to me. Off to the shampoo station we went, where Faith gave me a mini scalp massage--wish it had lasted longer!! And then to the hair cutting station, where she proceeded to make me look so glam!! In the end, I looked completely different from the way I looked when I walked in. A new haircut takes time to get used to, and I had my moments of self-doubt, but my bf gave me so many compliments that evening, that all my doubts were put to rest. Yay Faith!! read more

I was traveling in Baton Rouge from out of town for a formal event and completely forgot to make an appointment to have my hair done. Through sheer luck I came across Salon Eden and they were able to fit me in the very same day for an updo. Lauren Cockerham did my updo and it looked straight out of Mad Men. I did my best to describe my likes/dislikes and what usually doesn't work for my hair and she magicked my hair into something amazing and adorable. I was devastated to take it down that night - there are still a zillion photos of just my hair on my phone, it was that good. Absolutely the worst experience ever. Salon Eden in Town Square in Baton Rouge is owned by Mary Verlander. She is arrogant, dishonest and unprofessional. She has made no apology to me for the horrible haircut and the damage to my hair at the hands of her employee, a "so called" hair stylist, Shelley. Mary praised and defended Shelley even after I showed Mary the damage that Shelley did to my hair. Mary's tone has been arrogant and dismissive of me while defending her stylists botched cut and color that I am still dealing with. The texture of my hair is ruined because of the chemicals as well as the slide cut technique that Shelley used on my thick wavy hair. The haircut is very uneven. Shelley cut the left side far shorter than the right side, the layers are not blended, she thinned the ends out badly which look shaggy and frizzy. Shelley did not get the color right either. Instead of the color that we had agreed upon, my hair came out an odd drab color and my dark roots still show! I truly cannot imagine a worse cut and color. When I looked in the mirror, I asked Shelley to please, please correct the cut and color but she made excuses including telling me that, "It would look fine after I washed it and styled it at home". She rushed me out of her chair because she had another client scheduled. I was stunned. I walked out of the salon, got in my car, looked in my car mirror and walked right back into the Salon. I politely asked Shelley for a second time to please fix my hair. She was curt and basically blew me off. It was tense and very uncomfortable, no other stylists or employees stepped forward to offer me any support. The atmosphere felt tense and unfriendly. Everyone just stared. I felt that I had reached a dead end so I left the Salon and contacted Mary Verlander. I took numerous photos which I sent to Mary and I explained to her in great detail what had transpired. Mary refused to comment on the awful cut and color in the photos. She made no apology to me, at any time, EVEN after viewing the photos. She implied that I was simply hard to please! With that kind of indifference and arrogance, I knew that I wanted nothing further to do with her or her Salon. Returning there would feel like walking into a lion's den so her lame "offer" to try and "please" me by allowing me to return to her Salon to see what they could do to "try and make me happy" is a joke. I asked Mary for a refund which, of course, she has refused to give to me. She simply doesn't care. I plan to take further action in hopes of recovering my money. Meanwhile, I hope that my review will spare someone else from having to go through such an awful ordeal. I wish that I could upload photos of my botched hair to this site because a picture is worth a thousand words. read more

Beyond amazing service. Words cannot say enough! Melanie worked on my hair and I will never go to another stylist ever again, she is so talented at transforming my look. I went in with my natural very dark brown almost black hair and she made me a blonde. She did this while keeping my hair feeling and looking healthy. I'm so impressed. The best! I have been getting my hair cut and styled by Lauren for two years now. She ALWAYS does the best job, takes her time, and won't let me leave until she believes that it is perfect. Alexis and Melanie are fantastic, too. Their stations are right next to my stylist's so I get to observe their work. I get my eyebrows waxed by Jermyni and in the seven years that I have been grooming these brows, no one has ever done a better job than Ms. Jermyni. Shelley, also, does a great job on hair AND brows. This salon is overall fantastic and full service so you can walk in drab and walk out fab! I recently moved to Baton Rouge and have been looking for a new hair salon. I visited Salon Eden a couple of weeks ago and received highlights from Gillian. Gillian is the BEST! She is a great listener and did an incredible job of giving me natural-looking blonde highlights. She has incredible technique, used products that I loved, but most of all, I LOVE my new hair. The Salon itself is clean and relaxing. Gillian was very up-front about all of the costs included in a highlight from the beginning of the appointment: toner costs extra, and it costs extra to get a blow-out at the end of your appointment. If you wish to dry your own hair instead, they have a station where you can do so - I really appreciate that they have this option, especially when I'm just going home after an appointment and don't necessarily need a blow-out. One negative thing that surprised me is that there is an extra charge for using a credit card to pay when you check out, but they waive this on your first visit. Salon Eden is certainly not cheap, but it is my experience thus far that you get what you pay for here. They also sent me a thank you note in the mail after my appointment, which I thought was incredibly thoughtful and rare. I have certainly found my salon in Baton Rouge! read more
