In 2015 we had problems with our motorhome Sat TV dish not locking on to the satellite. After four…read moreor five service calls from Perth to Melbourne we finally had two coax cables replaced, and the LNB replaced. Then in September this year we had just fuelled near Richmond NSW, turned on the ignition key and the dish started going up! And it wouldn't come down. We parked at the back of the petrol station, and tried cycling the controller, reset etc but eventually resorted to removing bolts off the dish bracket to manually lower it and tie it down with bungee cords. By this time we had decided to replace the Alden Sat dish and controller with an Oyster (no change to VAST set-top box, ours is an Altec UEC Dual Channel unit). I rang the distributor to find out which installer was nearest to us, and then contacted Sydney RV in Penrith. They wanted $7,250 incl installation! When I told them that I knew the RRP to be $4,625, they said that the difference was for installation and that they would need the motorhome for two days - needless to say we declined. I then contacted Springers in Lawnton QLD who usually have installers at the CMCA Rallies - so we had it installed a couple of weeks later at the Canberra Rally for $4,950 (took about 4 hours) - works beautifully.
