Called at 8:00 p.m. ask what time they closed they told us 9:00 pm We get there 3 minutes later after speaking with somebody and they said we can't be seated that they're closing early.. We asked to talk to the manager he came out with an attitude mad as hell banned us from the property because we just simply wanted an explanation on why somebody on the phone told us 3 minutes earlier that they were open till 9:00 and they had a full restaurant full of people still eating.. this dude should not be in the food service or manager or any kind of industry... We drove from Stony Ridge Ohio to eat here to have us get turned back around within 3 minutes of getting to restaurant.. he caused a big old scene like he was Mr macho I bet he felt really good about himself... My husband and I went to Mail Pouch last night. We stood at the desk waiting to be seated. We waited almost 5 minutes. Nobody came to seat us, so we sat down at the first table inside the door by the desk. We sat there for almost 7 minutes and then got up and left. Nobody came to our table. The only part that was busy was the bar area. Those people all kept getting served right away. There was only one booth that had any people sitting. They weren`t busy. We were there around 4:30. So I guess if you want to go to a place and get ignored when they are NOT busy, Mil Pouch is the place to go. We usually get good service when we go there. It was a 5 star visit tonight, we have never been to the Mail Pouch although we have driven by it a million times. The server was friendly and helpful. The menu was diverse and easy to understand. I had the steak tips, cooked medium well as ordered, very tasty. I think I would like a salad alternative with my entree but the food I ordered was very good. Last night we went to the Pouch w friends for dinner the Food along w Service was impeccable. Even during the busy rush, our server remained calm, friendly, and attentive. We were seated within minutes of being greeted then the feast began. 3 of us ordered fish dinners which were to die for. 3 salads that were Delicious fresh clean toppings and the fish was so flavorful we purchased another to drop off to a friend on the way home. Another purchased the Black/Blue burger which he said was the best he's had in years very tasty juice w crisp toppings same as our salads. Everything was so clean warm and truly inviting. A surprise stop on our drive home and we were not disappointed. No official gluten free menu, but adjustments were able to be made to accommodate. The burger was solid at half a pound. The cheeses covered both burgers for a nice flavor. My brother couldn't finish his pulled pork sandwich it was so big! The salad and dressing was enjoyed by my mom so much, after devouring the brussel sprouts, she ate a big portion of the salad. The pieces all blended together very well! The server was excellent! Took the roasted Brussel Sprouts as an appetizer. Delicious and roasted to perfection especially with the bacon and not bits but the real deal. I ordered the Apple Cran Salad with Poppyseed Dressing. The chicken was plentiful and I loved the poppyseed salad dressing. I was disappointed that the kitchen forgot the bacon and avocado but I still enjoyed it. First visit was September 2022. OK, I have to admit that I had to be dragged to this restaurant by family due to a horrible childhood experience trying Mail Pouch chewing tobacco once and only once. It didn't help that the interior decor confirmed it was the tobacco signage and not the Pony Express that takes up the most wall space, although there is Old West themed decorations as well. The food and the service, however, was excellent and nobody was actually smoking or chewing tobacco either. My stomach was saved instead of retraumatized. Excellent steak appetizer could have been my whole meal for lunch, but the clam chower was great too. Everyone else at the table agreed their food was excellent. read more

I've come to this establishment for quite a long time and got the same thing every time. The Hatfield and McCoy Chunks with Stinging Garlic sauce. It comes with Mac and Cheese, Avocado, Banana Peppers, and tomato. Three of us ordered the same item, and it came out with mine having significantly less than theirs. It seems over the years the portions have become much smaller, to the point where it doesn't fill me up like it used to. When the food came out, all of our Mac and Cheese was cold. We handed them back to them and they microwaved them (which we asked them to do) and came back within a minute for all of them. The Mac and cheese was at best room temperature, and the chicken breading started to peel off from it. Afterwards she offered to remake our entire meals, which we declined because of timing (Others at our table already had their food almost done). She did end up taking off 50% of each of the meals, making each one only $8. Which is about how much should be paid for the meal they provided. It was a tad cold in the location we were placed in (This was not what caused the food's temperature, seeing how my first bite the second the food was placed down was frozen almost). Sit on the left side of the bar if you're prone to getting cold easily. It's a good place to go, however this wasn't the first time I've came across this issue here. Other than that. I pay for 16 ounces and she serves me 12 ounces. Unacceptable. She is not friendly. Has a chip on her shoulder for some reason. When she serves me a glass that is 75% beer and 25% foam, NO TIP. read more

Saturday nights are busy. They took or name and we waited in our car for a text to be seated. Our wait was about 1/2 hour. Overall our food was decent. I tried to order a couple other dinner la options but they were out of before I settled for chicken chunks. Their Parmesan garlic sauce is pure butter with some garlic. Glad I got it on the side as if it were on my wings I would have been very disappointed. Lots of different options to pick from. We will return and try out some other dishes as well. I was visiting my mom who lives in town. She told me that Shuckers no longer exists and it had become the Mail Pouch. She hasn't been yet and wanted to check this place out. Upon arrival the parking lot was packed. We were pleasantly surprised that we could get seated instantly indoors. There is an outdoor bar area with swings at the bar for chairs. I love when bars do that so a score in my book. Looking over the menu, I decided on wings and sweet potato fries. I told the waitress of my food allergies issues and she said the only sauce I could get was bbq sauce after talking with the kitchen about my dairy and gluten intolerance. The kitchen apparently makes their own sauce and didn't know all the ingredients within the sauces. This was disappointing since bbq sauce (sweeter kind) isn't my favorite but went ahead and got it. The wings were all over the place in size. They seemed to be a little overcooked. My sweet potato fries were overdone and were lukewarm. My husband had ordered wings and onion rings. He said his wings were just okay and his onion rings were overcooked. My mom ordered a burger and onion rings. She stated her burger was huge and enjoyed. However her onion rings were undercooked. I've been coming to this place for a little while now (off and on). Unfortunately, their service has been on the decline. They are slow and the food is sub-par for the price you pay (it's expensive). Also, if you plan on coming, plan on staying awhile because everyone that arrives after you, will get their food before you. I would not recommend going to this restaurant. read more

Mail Pouch is a really convenient place to eat. Service is hard due to the size and layout of this place. The servers are always awesome, it's not at all their fault, but it's just not usually easy to get a table and whatnot, and there's no great place to wait for a table, because the layout is kinda a mess. In the summer you can wait outside. But in an Ohio winter? Ehhhhh. Dishes of note: Their Buffalo Shrimp appetizer is AMAZING. Always get that. The Wagon Wheel chunks are the best of all the chunks, it's fried chicken over tater tots, covered in cheese, which a side of coleslaw. All the parts of this taste great, I get the medium sauce. The other chunks have elements my mouth thinks taste weird, like their pulled pork, bacon and Mac n cheese. But hey, you do you. read more

We eat take out from Mail Pouch abt 1ce a month. It's reasonably priced and the food is very tasty. I e tried just about every burger and various chicken chunks and have always been satisfied. The atmosphere inside is fun and cozy. They have live entertainment. They are always busy and when getting take out sometimes my order has been incorrect. I think it's because they are so busy sometimes. The staff is friendly and polite. We enjoy eating here. I'd definitely recommend it! read more

We were looking to try a new place for lunch and my wife suggested the Mail Pouch Saloon Swanton. Located in the old Shuckers building on Airport Hwy, decor is country/western bar style, comfortable booths , tables and bar. Our server Rachael was attentive and friendly. The food was very good, we had the deep fried green beans with sweet chili dipping sauce( Fantastic!) I had a very good cup of chili, Valerie had a brisket sandwich and I had the Italian sandwich, both were big, loaded with meat and very, very good!
