Shipping from Maui to the Mainland is always eye wateringly expensive especially for larger, heavier items, and I had the job of shipping a large piece of art and a set of schmancy binoculars with tripod to CA. I popped into MSP to see what size boxes they had, none big enough, so they kindly sent me off to AAAAA Storage in Honokawai who stocked exactly what I needed. I packed everything in bubble wrap and boxed it and and MSP took care of the rest, showing me pricing for different types of delivery, making sure everything was labelled correctly with fragile and this side up stickers, and they even had tape when I ran out. With great customer service and sound advice I found this friendly professional store a great place for shipping. read more

It's that time of year again & I've been so in love with the holiday magic ever since I was a kid. So much so, I finally somehow convinced my mom it's time to replace her old phone. This place was fine - I feel compelled to leave a review because there are so many 1 star reviews. People only leave reviews when things don't go their way. This is a great little place to pick up USPS boxes and mail stuff to the mainland for a good price. Plenty of USPS boxes, all shapes and sizes. They're a FedEx center as well. Helpful staff, I was in and out in under 3 minutes. Shipped a medium sized heavy box to Oregon for $26. Awesome. read more

I just needed to drop-off a UPS package that already had a prepaid shipping label. The lady at this store charged me a $5 fee to leave the package with her. It's the closest shop to the resort and I didn't want to drive around on a Saturday afternoon to find another store, so I paid it. I have never been charged to drop-off packages, ever. read more

The customer service here is terrible, not to mention more than once we've had packages come back with the incorrect postage. The older woman who runs the place is very unprofessional and rude. I stopped going there when she refused to take packages that were prepaid, even though ups said she had to! It's worth the piece of mind to drive to the post office. My wife and I sold our condo in Kahana Sunset and we had 4 pineapple chairs and some artwork that we wanted back home on the mainland. We called around for quotes to ship our items and were shocked at the cost. Then, we walked into Mail Services Plus and were greeted by Ovick Kar, the owner. He told us he has a lot of experience in shipping to the mainland and could get our items wrapped and on a boat and delivered to our home for about 1/3 the cost others might charge and that it would arrive within 4-5 weeks. Sure enough, our items arrived within 4 weeks and were delivered to our home without a scratch. We are very impressed with Ovick's personal attention to detail when we opened our pallet. Every piece of artwork and item were wrapped and double wrapped and wrapped again. It was actually quite amusing as to how long it took me to unwrap our items. Ovick is personable and knows how to get things done. We highly recommend his services for shipping anything personal or fragile at reasonable price. DO NOT USE THIS PLACE FOR SHIPPING OUT ANYTHING FRAGILE. They are a small mom and pop shop that does not have the proper packaging materials. I recently shipped out a bunch of pictures/vases. I insured the items and to my surprise I got nothing back. The vase and the picture that was shattered in a million pieces were not packed properly. It was barely covered with bubble wrap. Terrible job. They are horrible at follow-up. You have to chase them to find out what is going on with fedex. After fed ex denied my claim because I did not have any receipts, I asked, "Then why do you even ask if we want to insure our items?" Jenny - who works for them, stated, "Yes, there is no sense in insuring the items". H E L L O..... then why the hell do you ask us to insure our items?!?! You are a rip off. Go to a reputable UPS or Fedex store. Stay away from this one, as you have no recourse, when anything breaks. This place is good for mailing envelopes and purchasing stamps. That's it. STAY AWAY if you are mailing anything that can break. They are POOR. read more

If you want something notarized they charge you $5 per signature which is normal but then they add a $30 store fee, THATS INSANE, $30 store fee?? When looking for a place to ship FEDEX I didn't want to drive all the way to Kahului to ship christmas presents and some items I gathered along the way on our trip. First off I understand the holidays are busy time of year but having one person running the store while people stand in line for a long time is just crazy. Anyways I asked Susan to ship a package 2 DAY to Florida. What happened? I pull up the tracking number as the recipient said they didn't receive it within the 2 days she told me. Pulled it up it was still in Honolulu and not scheduled to be delivered till 12/26. Unacceptable but what can I do? I called and they attempted to get Fedex to deliver faster but they can't and Fedex is deliverying it after Christmas. The person receiving the box won't be back till the 26th and the box was slated to get there before they left for the holiday on Friday. So I don't know why I paid for 2 Day Fedex delivery to get a week delivery. I could have flown it home with me and drove it to the recipient faster. Really poor company in that they charge 2 DAY prices and yet send it were it won't arrive till a week later. read more

It's probably better if you go to the main post office. This place sucks. There's been so many times where my packages were sent back because they charged the wrong postage. There were a couple of us in the post office and one of the ladies were on the phone, didn't even look up to acknowledge anyone. The other lady, instead of stopping what she was doing (putting a fan together in an air conditioned room) she decided to ignore all of us. Once she was done, she didn't even smile. The customer in of me even asked how her day was going and her reply was "how many do you have". Once it was my turn she took my package and just told me how much it was. No interaction, no smile, nothing. A day later my package came back with a note on the envelope that said it was short. They need to be retrained in customer service. Everyone hates going to the post office already, why make it worse by giving horrible customer service? ----UPDATE: I went back to resend my envelope and a guy was working there this time. This place stinks! They overcharge for everything. I had an older lady help me, I think her name was Susan. She was very cranky. I needed to drop off a return for UPS. The postage was already paid for. She told me that would be $6.00. She said tat is what UPS charges or pick ups. I couldn't believe it! So, I drove over to the Post Office in Lahaina, and told them what they said. They told me that was ridiculous, and advised me to never go there again. So, I am taking their advise. Would give it "more" than five stars. Recently sold our condo in Maui. Have a beautiful set of Hawaiian dishes that is no longer made. I needed to ship this set of dishes along with another set of glass dishes and a large set of glassware/stemware home to the mainland. Ovic was WONDERFUL in packing our belongings. When the three large, heavy boxes arrived I held my breathe as I unpacked. The packing job was so impressive. The inside of the large boxes were all well padded and then my items were further protected in smaller boxes placed into the large ones. Such care was taken of my items. I cannot express how happy I am with MSP. I moved to California from Maui after 27 years... I had to ship personal belongings from a storage unit in Honokowai. I had gotten quotes from $1900-$5007 to ship. I decided to go to Maui myself and ship my stuff. I called Mail Services Plus and spoke to Susan who told me about a method of shipment available to me for large shipments to same address... But I needed to speak to Ovick , the owner. He provided me with a quote, some boxes, packing peanuts and offered to pick my boxes up free of charge. He made 3 boxes for me and packed some delicate item I hadn't packed myself. The care taken on the boxes he made was unbelievable. There was an antique sewing cabinet, a huge painting framed in Koa measuring 4 ft x3 feet... He wrapped it so well it took me an hour to open it! Nothing was harmed... It was perfect! My stuff arrived in California in 3 days...it left Maui on Wednesday and was delivered on Friday to Ventura CA. My previous quotes were 3-6 weeks for delivery. We had a very large ceramic turtle that we wanted to ship from Maui to Los Angeles. Ovick at Mail Services in Napili was incredible. I had packed it up with lots of padding, but he took one look at it and suggested (as politely as he could) that I shouldn't quit my day job to become a professional packer. He said that if we wanted it to arrive in good condition, we should really over-protect it since you never know what's going to happen during shipment. When we got back to the mainland and opened the carton, i could not believe what a great job he had done. He had wrapped the turtle in a box with tons of padding around it, and then floated it in another box, again full of padding, so that even if the outside box had been smashed, the turtle would not have been touched. Once we had finally removed all of the packing, I could see that if FedEx had dropped it from 20 feet, they still couldn't have damaged our turtle. We were particularly worried about the fins and the head and we had absolutely no problem. The turtle arrived in perfect condition, thanks to how well Ovick packed it. read more

Was in Maui recently for daughter's wedding. Had a couple of shipments to make. The first I used the UPS Store in Lahaina as I wanted what I thought to be improved service - I sure paid for it, way too much but some things have to be done. I came up with a second shipment and fortunately for me the UPS Stores was not open (Sunday). Closer to where I was staying, and open on Sunday was Mail Services Plus. I dropped my items off and providing my credit card number, I told them I was not in a hurry. A couple of days later, I called the owner, Ovik, we spoke of the items requiring more care, and I entrusted him to take care of me. I was not disappointed, the shipment arrived, I could tell a lot of care went into the packaging - nothing was damaged in any way. I was so pleased I called Ovik again and expressed my gratitude.
