In a word OUTSTANDING. Truthfully, there aren't too many bagel places left out there anymore in the NoVA area and the ones that are still out there, only about 10% of them are decent, serving authentic, quality bagels and bagel sandwiches. THIS PLACE IS ONE OF THOSE TOP 10%-ers! * Conveniently located (even though I hateeeee that little gummed-up stretch of Main Streer in Fairfax!!) but the shop is on the little side strip out of the fray of the main retailers Ace Hardware and TJ Maxx. Lot parking is abundant for a quick in and out if you're grabbing to go. * SUPER FRIENDLY STAFF and FAST, EFFICIENT SERVICE - I went in around 9AM on a Sat - no long line - walked right up to the counter and ordered - sat at a table and my order was called about 10 minutes later. * It was bfast time and I ordered a bacon egg and cheese sando $8 on a lightly toasted ET bagel - delicious and they didn't skimp on any of the ingredients! The bagel was big, hearty and chewy. A perfect breakfast to go. * PRICES ARE VERY FAIR and I felt I got good value for what I paid. $13 basically for a bfast sando and a bottle of juice (drinks are always a rip-off - $3.50, half the cost of my sando but it is what it is...) * [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside of the restaurant itself is sorta small and cramped - as you walk in, the left side is the ordering side, the right side is the seating area with a good amount of tables and chairs - most importantly, they keep the place neat and clean which is a big deal to me.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a little dark and drab in ambiance/decor and I could see it getting a bit chaotic if the place fills up and with long lines at the counter.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]On nice weather days, there are some outside tables.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I don't come to this area of Fairfax all that often - just happened to be in the area that morning and literally searched for a bagel place on Yelp and hardly any came up. Fortunately I happened to be close by. When I'm in the area again AND happen to be hankerin' for a bagel sandwich, I'll most definitely come back here again. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS INDIE BAGEL SHOP IN DOWNTOWN FAIRFAX!

First time visiting Main Street Bagel Deli - it had been on my list to try out for sometime... Ordered their "Nova Lox" on a toasted Onion Bagel. All the usual suspects are present here - although sadly - no fresh dill. Ate in - the food came up in a few minutes. Overall, a tasty bagel & lox combo. Service was good! Paid with Apple Pay. I'd stop in again if I happen to passing through or in the neighborhood. #MainStreetBagelDeli

This is a really really solid bagel place and at a good price point as well! My friend picked it up and it travels well, as expected from any decent bagel place. I ordered a sausage, egg, and cheese on a jalapeño bagel and it tasted exactly how you want it to taste. The bagel isn't too spicy and doesn't have jalapeño pieces inside it. A bit dense, but that might've been a transportation thing.

Egg and Cheese Onion Bagel. Extra egg.

Food was decent. Portions were huge, an extra egg looks like three eggs. I could taste the onion, but it didn't stand out. Service was slow, but the [[HIGHLIGHT]]ambience was okay.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Waiting wasn't bad. Would try their lunch menu. Oh, there cookie is fantastic!

Everything, onion, cheese, pumpernickel, sesame bagels.

Wow finally a real bagel joint! These folks are legit. The bagels are huge, soft , and loaded with different flavorful toppings. They have 5 or 6 different flavored cream cheese besides plain, numerous salads from tossed to macaroni and chicken, egg, as well as tuna. The last 3 store made. A huge selection of sandwiches from breakfast types to Reubens. I'll be back I'm sure because I just bought bagels and a tub of cream cheese this time.

I've been recommended this place a few times, and it's close to school... so why not venture here? [[HIGHLIGHT]]I stopped by here to finally grab some breakfast from this place, and it was extremely packed! That's always a good sign.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]While there's plenty of seating, there were still a lot of people hanging around the pickup counter to grab their items due to the crowds/ lack of space.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered a bacon egg and cheese bagel (everything bagel), turkey pastrami sandwich, strawberry smoothie, along with a black& white cookie. There's lots of staff here, and everything came out in a fairly timely manner, considering the crowds here! The food was pretty good and it's fairly decent pricing. I want to try out some more items, so I will be back!

Plain Bagel w/ Cream Cheese and Lox

This place is consistently good. Today I ordered a plain bagel with cream cheese and lox and it hit the spot. Good cream cheese to lox ratio and amazing blend! The service is always quick and efficient. Once you order you typically get your food within 5 minutes. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I never really dine in, but they do have quite a few tables if you're looking to eat there![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Pastrami Reuben

This place is definitely busy during brunch/lunch time on the weekends. There was a line but it went by really fast. Prices & service were great. Pastrami Reuben: cheesy, warm, savory. It could use a little more saurkraut but it came with pickles on the side so it made up for it. I would come back to try other menu items.

Sausage, Egg and Cheese on a Garlic Bagel

4/5! Was craving a good bagel this morning, and since I haven't been here in a long time, it was time to pay a visit. The Food: I went with a Sausage, Egg and Cheese Bagel on a Garlic bagel. Definitely a delicious bagel, with a good portion of meat/egg ratio. Not the best, but good enough for the price. The Service: Service was great! Staff were friendly and got my order out within a timely manner. The Atmosphere: Plenty of seating both indoor and outdoor. It's a cafe, so setup for you to pick up and go. Overall, a 4/5. Pretty good bagels with plenty of options to choose from. Great prices as well. Definitely recommend.

I have been coming here for 20 years. I've had many bagels, all over the region (and NYC) and this is still my favorite bagel spot. It is family run and the owner and staff are super friendly.

Patio seating for this amazing deli!

What a pleasant surprise to find this amazing deli today! I'm used to Philadelphia and New York City delis and was so happy to find this gem. [[HIGHLIGHT]]First of all the place is spot less and clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff is so kind! The food is wonderful. Freshly made hot bagels with cream cheese are so good. The iced coffee, deli sandwiches and pastries are delicious! [[HIGHLIGHT]]You can eat outside or inside or take it to go.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Enjoy!

The staff are genuinely some of the friendliest people I've ever encountered at a coffee shop -- they remember your name, your order, and somehow always make you feel like the most important person in the room. The coffee? Next level. Whether you're a straight-black-espresso purist or someone who loves a beautifully crafted latte with stunning latte art, De Clue delivers every single time. The beans are clearly sourced with care, and you can taste the quality in every sip. My go-to has become their seasonal special, and I look forward to it every single visit. The space itself is absolutely charming -- perfect for catching up with a friend, grinding through some work, or just enjoying a quiet moment to yourself. It has this rare quality of feeling both lively and relaxed at the same time. De Clue Coffee isn't just a coffee shop -- it's a community. It's the kind of place that makes living in Fairfax feel extra special. Don't walk, RUN to De Clue. You will not regret it!

I used to frequent this place in high school and was curious about it. Back then, my favorite thing to get was their open face tuna melt (not sure if they have that any more) and their famous pumpkin roll (which I didn't see at the counter, bummer). Ambiance/ interior is exactly the same from decades ago. Fast/ casual, kinda small with small tables and seats upon entering. When it's warm you can usually sit outside. I noticed they now offer online ordering. I placed an order online and picked up at the counter- quick and accurate. I ordered a plain bagel with extra veggie cream cheese (they didn't charge me extra), garlic bagel with chive cream cheese, and turkey sandwich on plain bagel with lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo. The inside of the bagels are nice and chewy, but the exterior had a crunch that I'm not used to. The overall feel of the bagel reminded me more of a hard baguette? I still enjoyed the food. I wasn't expecting the garlic bagel to kill a family of vampires. I love garlic but some of the bites were a little bitter so I mainly ate the bottom. I REALLY miss the pumpkin roll with sweet cream cheese filling. Please bring that back!

I stopped by about an hour before closing, which may have impacted my experience. By that time, a lot of the bagels were already sold out. That said, the menu was very extensive with tons of bagel sandwich options and other items. There's also some indoor seating, and they sell a variety of snacks, drinks, and bottled waters--almost like a small convenience store. This definitely seems like a great spot for a quick breakfast on the go. The staff was friendly and welcoming, which I appreciated. One suggestion I'd make is to invest in paper menus or QR code menus--the menu was a bit hard to read, especially with so many options. I ordered three onion bagels to go, along with a container of plain cream cheese and a smaller chive cream cheese. Unfortunately, the bagels were disappointing. They were pretty hard and didn't have much onion flavor at all. On the bright side, the cream cheese was amazing--both the plain and chive were super creamy and flavorful, easily the highlight of my visit. I'd be willing to give this place another try, but probably closer to opening hours in hopes of getting fresher bagels. I can see why people like it, and I think timing really matters here.

I saw a croissant on display, but there was no label or sign saying what it contained. I asked for it, and the employee mentioned something, but I didn't clearly hear or understand that it contained ham. After taking my first bite, I realized it had ham inside. As a Muslim, I don't eat pork for religious reasons, and this was extremely upsetting. I felt sick and ended up vomiting afterward. I asked if I could exchange it for a cookie since I had only taken one bite, but I was told I would have to pay for another item because I had already bitten into the croissant. My biggest concern is that the pastry wasn't labeled. In an area with people from many different cultures and religions, it's important to clearly identify items that contain pork. Many bakeries and coffee shops already do this, and it helps customers make informed choices. I left the croissant on the counter and walked out feeling very disappointed. Sadly, because of this experience, I don't plan to return to this location. I hope they improve their labeling so this doesn't happen to someone else.
