Sarah is a patient, sweet teacher who is so talented that I doubt there's any level of pianist she can't teach. The space itself is bright and welcoming, with one big open room with a piano, in addition to several smaller rooms down the hallway. They offer lessons in voice, tons of strings (guitar, violin, mandolin, and more), brass, and pretty much every other instrument you could think of. Everyone I've met has been as gracious as Sarah, and you can tell they are all total pros. They also have a refreshing focus on kiddos, with $5 drop-in music classes a few times a week for babies as young as a few months old and lessons tailored toward the young musicians among us. Plus, you can stop and reward yourself with coffee + tasty bread treats at Aki's before or after, just because you've been such an awesome student. I'm a mom, so the time I have to practice is pretty limited. That never matters, though, because we always work on whatever I'm comfortable with. Sarah is amazing and makes me want to be able to play everything from classical to jazz to good ol' rock 'n roll. If you want a fun, engaging, relaxing music education, Sarah Jane's is definitely the way to go!

I did a bunch of digging and found the website for Ken's business during a google marathon. I gave him a call and scheduled an appointment with him. I wasn't really sure what to expect when I met with him, but any trepidation was alleviated when we started talking about my guitar. He was great to deal with and we spent the entire time talking about how I specifically play so he could tailor the work to my play style. When he called me earlier than quoted to pick it up I was pleasantly surprised and anxious to see it. Now, how did it turn out? Incredible. Amazing. Not only did he level the frets but he also adjusted every component of the guitar (including the nut) to precisely conform to my play style. I couldn't be more thrilled with his prices and workmanship. He's a craftsmen and actually cares about the job he does.

I mainly went to Ken to get fret leveling to fix the fret buzz. But he turned out to be very reasonable, much cheaper than those big-box guitar stores, so I ended up giving him both my guitars to do. And on top of that, he fixed all my other problems as well, including shifting my fret nut over. Frets are smooth now and no buzzing. And Ken was a great guy to just sit and chat about guitar for a few minutes with as well. Highly recommend.

A recent financial tragedy in the family made me decide to drive 63 miles to Lincoln Pawn where I used to have good service and best prices. I was trying to get a loan of around $300 to be paid back in a few weeks. I had a new open box gaming laptop, new sealed matching mouse, new sealed matching headset, and used matching keyboard. The resale value of this package is $600-$800 dollars. They offered me a loan of a mere $150, which is a complete insult and scam. I'm not sure exactly who owns this place now but Max-It on University offered a loan of $250 for the exact same items. Then on top of this they were rude, not nice, not friendly, disrespectful, not customer service oriented, and then on top of it accuse me of being rude because I was trying to make a deal not get robbed. He just kept looking up what I would assume to be the lowest price he could find on the internet it sold for so he could offer me the least amount. What a way to win a customer! With a 300% interest loan you think that these people could be a little bit more grateful that addicts, swindlers, and financially illiterate people are the majority of who keep them in business. Only stupid people give away their most precious valuables and pay 300% interest, only EVIL people take peoples most precious valuables and charge 300% interest. They deserve to be charged and imprisoned for the crime of usury. It's not "just business" it is principles of RIGHT versus WRONG!
