The moment you walk in, you're already trying to take in all the textures and colors of the fibers tempting you! So many projects to inspire! Cindy, the owner, remembered me even though it had been at least 15 years. I told Cindy what I wanted to do and she gave me great advice, helped me decide on the colors and made sure I understood the pattern. Her store is easy to find, parking is right there and you'll want to linger. Be warned, you can get carried away by all the creativity you'll encounter. Her yarn selection is excellent and the prices are reasonable. Some of the distinctive artisan fibers will cost you a pretty penny but when you're investing time in an item, it's worth it!

How do the registers get shut down, store straightened and closing stuff done and out the door in 3 mins?? (See pic) when I asked if their hours of operation were till 7, brandy said yes. I asked how they could operate with doors locked. She then said the doors should be open. I asked for her supervisor and she said supers don't work weekends. Nice

Every time, if I have any questions or need anything, they're squirrelly and running around but once you've pegged someone, they try to help you. The problem is, more often than not, the store doesn't have what I need! My most recent example was purchasing a snow globe... But they had no snow! Who does a thing like that? It's cruel. The organization of the store is confusing, too. Choppy. Like a maze. I don't WANT to go to Hobby Lobby. Ever. Michaels, get it together. I want to buy things from you! So many other locations are great. I want my local location to be great. Go here for basic things. They have some pretty helpful coupons available on their app and classes at the store. If you don't want to go to Hobby Lobby, order online or find another store for fancier things. Good luck. Don't expect snow.

I saw a couple of other shoppers milling around but NO employees. It was a ghost town! I needed help with paint, of which I know nothing except for the color that I wanted. About the norm. If…read moreyou've ever been to a Michaels before, or better yet if you've ever been to multiple Michaels before, you'll find that they're all about the same. On the positive side, they have a great framing department, and everything you can think of when it comes to crafting and DIY hobbying. They also have a lot of fun and different baking items and molds to work with for holidays or parties. On the downside though, understaffed. Almost always. Even at their busiest times, which is usually the Christmas holiday season, always understaffed. At times, I've waited in line for up to 25 to 30 minutes to check out. You have a store full of people, you have six to eight registers, and you have two registers open with a line of 20 people deep. Would I go back? Yes, I would. And I will go back. Michael's is its own thing. I'm not saying there aren't other craft or hobby stores like it, but Michael's has what I need. Unfortunately though, I dread having to go there. At least during times when I know it's going to be busy. Here's a tip: If you're going to go to Michaels, make it during a weekday or non-peak time like a weekend or during the holiday season.

This past weekend marked the grand opening of this brand new Joann Fabrics location in Hamilton,…read morejust down the road from Bridgewater Falls. They really did it up for the grand opening. The place was decked out..they had some fun stuff for kids to do too like a guy making balloon animals and a coloring station. The place was pretty packed and there was a fun energy in the store. This location took over the spot that was previously held by Office Max..and let me tell you..it's a big improvement. That poor Office Max always seemed so..depressing. I remember wandering in there on a random Black Friday a couple years ago..oh man..so drab and depressing. JoAnn Fabrics for sure has a much better vibe. I'm not necessarily much of a "crafty" kind of person..but every time I go into a store like this it sooo makes me want to start some random craft project. I never do..but I want to..ha..maybe some day. Anywho, there were a lot of employees working and they did a great job handling the big crowd. Everybody was nice and welcoming as well. So yeah, I would have to say, a very solid location overall and a definite great addtion to this shopping area.
