i went with my partner soon after the store opened. it generally has a cozy demeanor, but holy…read moremackerel does everything else not reflect that! the prices are obscene, im talking $20 for a small container of sewing pins, and she was charging $6 for a single spool of thread. my partner had asked her if she sold any stretch fabrics, and she was really condescending and passive-agressive about the fact that no, honey, we're a quilt shop :) we dont sell that here :)). the same thing happened when i asked if she had any hand-sewing needles, which she said that she doesnt! because she doesnt want to compete with the needlework shop next door :). we wont be coming back. we suspect that a reason why she was so cruel is because we were visibly queer + alt, aswell. 0/10

This place is great: a huge selection of vibrant cotton fabrics all perfectly arranged by color value and theme. There's even a special little room where everything is discounted! This place is packed from front to back with some of the most gorgeous colors/designs you've ever seen and likely won't see elsewhere. On top of the amazing fabrics are the services: they will use a long-arm to quilt your sandwich (that makes perfect sense to quilters)! For a nominal fee based on size, you can flip through a BINDER filled with options, and the turn around time is great. If you need something quicker, just pay an extra fee to get bumped to the front of the line. These ladies have your back I've been there when it's slow )and just enjoyed chatting about my projects and perusing fabrics), and I've been there when it's jumping (they teach classes and have a lovely group of older ladies who giggle the place up as they work). The place is covered with amazing quilted projects/tapestries on the walls, and every time I visit I spend more than I should. I'm heading back out there this weekend to pick up a few quilting projects, so I'll be sure to attach pictures soon. In the meanwhile, treat yourself to a relaxing afternoon )whether you're a quilter or not), and just wander around this place so you can oooo and ahhhhh at all the pretty colors. Pro tip: Stitches is in the Glendale Pavilion, which is a series of quaint little shops and eateries. Build time in your schedule to wander around after visiting Stitches. Grab a lemon bar at the bakery around the corner (delicious), sip a glass of rosé at the wine bar (great service), or my personal favorite...stop in at Meritage for some of the most delectable food you've ever had. I'd recommend the scallops. P.S. if you were a Joann's devotee, you'll likely notice the prices are a touch higher here at Stitches, BUT keep in mind this is not a chain, it is independently owned, and these ladies sources their own fabrics quite deliberately.

It's one of the first places I think of if throwing a party for a certain time of year. Also, with the scarcity of stores that still sell fabric and sewing notions- they have a decent selection of both for my sewing projects. They also carry some decor fabrics and upholstery type fabrics. The staff is always helpful and if the front registers get busy they don't hesitate to open more up. Look for the sale items- they are always a good value.
