The most fun you can have at a local sporting event - amazing! The games are extremely exciting, and the arena (while a bit old) is still clean and well organized. Great for families as well as date night. Definitely get some tickets! read more

These games are so much fun! My employer has season tickets, so I'm pretty lucky! Great seats, good times, tasty and affordable concession food. It's a great time for everyone in my family and we know nothing about hockey, lol. read more

To start with, we purchased tickets off ticketmaster for our honeymoon. Section F Row 1 seat 1 & 2. It turns out these tickets are a scam the Mariners are in on. There are two sections that are suites, suite F and the other section next to the penalty box. They list two tickets in each suite for sale. If the suite owner shows up, they move you to anywhere in the arena at their discretion. If the suite owner doesn't show up, you get the suite. A shitty situation if the suite owner shows up which happened to us. Steve Brown, the director of sales, was extremely rude and annoyed about moving us (again, it was our honeymoon and my wife's birthday in 2 days). We asked for beanies to make up for us paying top dollar for our tickets and he said he "would see what he could do" but was so obviously annoyed I know he never even asked. We did not get beanies or anything we asked for. The game was really entertaining. However, the lack of understanding or willing to make up for their mistake/scam left a sour taste in my mouth along with Steve's attitude. Dissapointed in the staff to say the least. read more

Nice venue to watch a hockey game. Glad to have a hockey team back since the pirates are gone. I hope more people start going to games, otherwise the team won't be able to survive for long either. The promo team is great and there's always something fun going on. My kids love going to games. read more

They do not support first responders and their treatment of them is appalling. The management/board of directors completely disrespected my family and had the audacity to blame the fire department versus take any accountability for their actions. Shame on you Mariners. read more

It's great to have professional hockey back in Portland! The Maine Mariners are a perfect fit for Southern Maine and their support of the local community is terrific. As an avid hockey fan, I love seeing these young players develop and move up the ranks towards the NHL. My only hope is that someday they are affiliated with the Boston Bruins! LET'S MAKE IT HAPPEN!!! I'm also a firefighter/paramedic with a local department and their support of first responders is TOP NOTCH! They have sponsored the Capt. Joel Barnes award and the Capt. Joel Barnes hockey tournament, they offer Hero's Harbor, they have Sponsor a Service Member, they have teamed up with South Portland Professional Firefighters for their Checking for Charity event, they have Vet Tix, and more. The fact there is a hockey presence back in Souther Maine is awesome!! Having the Mariners back in town has been a great way to spend family time during the winter, as the games are extremely family and community based. I am also a member of a local fire department that hosts a charity hockey event. Last year (2018) we joined forces with the Mariners and they have been amazing to work with. To say they have supported us fully is an understatement. Having the Mariners organization on board with our event has been a great addition. They have assisted us with unwavering support. They have been a top donating sponsor since the day we first met with them. The partnership continues to grow, almost daily. They have donated time, money, and they endlessly continue to assist us in any way they can. They have opened doors for us that might not have been opened without them. We have invited some members from the team to our station to experience a day in our shoes, and in return they have invited us into their world to experience the same. Working with the Mariners organization has been great. They have been there to assist us while allowing us to make the decisions on running the event. They have gone farther than we had expected with regards to giving back to our community and also our fire department. Thank you to the entire Mariners organization, you guys are top notch, especially when it comes to family, community and the first responders!! read more

The…read moreSea Dogs are family friendly The tickets are worth every penny Slugger's Hall of Fame Expect a good game But two beers will set you back twenty *** I am currently of two minds regarding my beloved Sea Dogs. ONE The Portland Sea Dogs are the AA-affiliate for the Red Sox. They won their first - and, so far, only - championship in September 2006 after beating the Akron Aeros, today known as the RubberDucks. While the food is underwhelming, you're not coming here for that (so set your expectations accordingly: standard stadium popcorn, peanuts, fries, etc). You're coming for exceptional baseball (because this team has been REALLY good these past few years), for the incredible fan experience and different promotions (and they try and incorporate community in every way they can), for a nine inning vacation from your life (it's a slogan they use for a reason). The staff? My favorite people in Maine. Always kind, always friendly, it always feels like I'm visiting family when I walk through those gates. And, yes, Slugger is now an icon (well done to everyone involved in his creation and development). Sassy, smart, and devious at times; kind-hearted, enthusiastic, and patient all the time. It's not strange that I want to hug him after something goes wrong because I know he'd comfort me, pound beers with him after work because I think he'd drink me under the table (but not make me feel bad for it), and run around the stadium with him like I had all the boundless energy he did... is it? TWO Just a couple days before tickets became available for next season, I wrote in my review: "I hope they continue to keep their pricing structure low and fair so that families, and folks being thoughtful about their budgets in a city where nothing is affordable anymore, can continue visiting for another thirty decades." Unfortunately... and despite renaming their historic stadium to promote insurance and because, well, money... for next season, tickets have gone up for Reserved Seats by $2 to $7 PER PERSON depending on which game which day which month -- so, last year ALL Reserved Seating tickets were $12. Now, if you want to see them play on a Tuesday in April? $14 per person. Want to see a summer game? $17 per person. If you want to see any of the firework presentations? $19 per person. That means what what used to be around $50 for a family of four is now $80 for a family of four. Even moving out of Reserved Seating into General Admission, it used to be $9 per person for all games; now it's $12 per person, unless it's a special game (eg fireworks) then it's $14 per person. Louder for the people in the back: what once was under $40 for a family of four in GA is now almost $60). This makes me very concerned about how much beer and concession prices have gone up too, but I guess we won't know that until April... then again when it's a fireworks night, I guess? Correct me if I'm wrong, Sea Dogs, but wasn't the whole Delta Dental thing supposed to help the consumer? Not push us further away?

The Maine Red Claws are the Boston Celtics' NBA G League affiliate. They are also owned by the…read moreCeltics. This minor league farm team is based in Portland, Maine, the most populous city in the state. The Red Claws play in the Portland Exposition Building, a.k.a. "The Expo," located just west of downtown. The Expo can hold about 3,000 fans. Out of the G League's currently 30 teams (there will be 31 in 2022), the Red Claws are one of the teams I've heard/read about the most because a few players from my favorite college team and alma mater, Georgia Tech, have gone on to play for Maine. They include Mario West, Lewis Clinch, and Marcus Georges-Hunt. West played for the Red Claws for two seasons (2009-11), Clinch during one season (2010-11), and Georges-Hunt for one season (2018-19). West ended up playing in four seasons in the NBA (2007-11; three with the Atlanta Hawks and one with the New Jersey Nets) and Georges-Hunt in two (2016-18; one with the Orlando Magic and the other with the Minnesota Timberwolves). Just like in school, Georges-Hunt missed playing with fellow former Yellow Jacket Josh Okogie in Minnesota by only one year, but I digress. Since beginning league play in the 2009-10 season, Maine has won three G League Atlantic Division championships. Those titles came in back-to-back-to-back years: 2015, 2016, and 2017. However, the Red Claws have never made it past the Eastern Conference Semifinals and have only appeared in the semifinals once. In 2017, they got swept by the Raptors 905, 2-0. During the successful stretch in the mid 2010s, Maine was coached by Scott Morrison (2014-17). Morrison was named NBA G League Coach of the Year in 2015. He's now an assistant for Brad Stevens and the Celtics. In the past, the Maine Red Claws have also been affiliated with the Charlotte Bobcats (now Hornets) and Philadelphia 76ers. This was before the G League expanded to what it is today.
