It was my first ever visit, and I was surprised how affordable the tickets are. It was easy to get in, the place was clean and a lot of people working for a mid week afternoon game. We sat by the bull pen area in the outfield- comfy seats great view for about $35ish and a bbq buffet. The bbq was...not great. From service where there was only 1 line to get food, to the line being directly in front of the grill and the smoke was billowing onto everyone getting food. Hot dogs, burgers pulled chicken were the options. Pulled chicken was too sauced and just not pleasant. The hot dog was fine. The sides- Cole slaw and pasta salad in tiny containers- as were the individual condiments- extremely not environmentally friendly with the single use ketchup, mustard and relish packets all over- why would they do this? The best part was it came with a Seabiscuit. They didn't announce about the fountain drinks we had to keep our cups- so by 12pm there were no cups for drinks to be had- nor were we aware while the BBQ/food and drinks end we wouldn't have access to water after 1pm. It's kind of wild- yes the price is incredibly affordable- but the game goes on for 2.5 more hours after the food shut off- why? read more

Family friendly fun is what you get when you watch the Sea Dogs play at Hadlock Field. General admission tickets are super reasonable and there isn't a bad seat in the place. Of course they also cater to season ticket holders, have sky boxes available, as well as the pavilion. The food is standard stadium fair. Pizza,dogs, burgers, pretzels, nachos, peanuts, and fries- the list goes on. Plenty of drink options for adults who wanna cold beer and plenty of ice cold sodas and water. Hint* buy a bottle of water and refill it for free from the water fountains at each end of the concourse. Don't miss out on dipping dots they come in a collectible souvenir ball cap cup. Pre game is usually pretty entertaining, the performances by local groups and clubs, the first pitches, you won't be bored if you get there early. Gates open 1.5 hours before the game starts. In the concourse below there are usually vendors tabeling giving away free swag and tons of information. The souvenir shop is small and there will a line but it goes fast. Price wise the merch is reasonable and there's so much to choose from! If you forgot your chapstick, no problem, too chilly grab a hoodie, they have everything for you. Staff go out of their way to ensure you're safe, and have the best customer experience. New parents who need a private place to pump, nurse or get their newborn out of the heat, ask a team member to use the air conditioned nearby, PRIVATE, nursing nook. And I can't forget Slugger, newly inducted to the mascot hall of fame. Catch him dancing along the third base line to YMCA and he ALWAYS tries to snap pics with his fans. But he's not the only one out there. Keep your eyes out for the Trash Monster. He's there to remind you to keep the stadium clean. Stadium staff will also do periodic trash runs so if you don't wanna miss the action they will come into the stands. One more hint kids under 16 can run the bases after the game-only after the 1pm games tho. Find free street parking, use the parking garage nearby, or use local lots that the city will charge like $10 bucks or so. I recommend putting "King Middle school" into your GPS and go from there. I had friends from away and, believe it or not, I still had never been to this stadium. It was serendipity that the Sea Dogs were in town so we could watch them play. I purchased GA tickets off the website. Inexpensive, compared to the MLB tickets I am used to. "GA" means you sit in bleachers but can pretty much choose any available seat. People are friendly, and everyone gets the system, so I didn't see any cases of seat hogging or how dare you make me slide over. The bleachers have back rests... that's really important for a cripple like me. Staff is amazingly friendly. Everyone here has a good time. My friends are from Philly and he was shocked that the pitcher, who gave up the lead in the 9th, didn't get booed when he was replaced by the manager. A guy was wearing a shirt that said "I just hope both teams have fun" and it's kind of a joke, but it seems like a AA team in Portland kind of stays true to the credo. Saw lots of home runs which equaled lots of lighthouse appearances. I really got the feeling I was living out some sort of scene from a movie like Field of Dreams or The Sandlot... some small town vibe where everything's alright and the troubles of the world are beyond the fence. read more

To my surprise, I have not reviewed Hadlock Field despite the number of times I have traveled to Portland, ME just to watch the Sea Dogs play ball. Well you are in for a treat... Hadlock Field is a past time staple for ever Mainah that loves baseball or the atmosphere the stadium offers. It is home to the Portland Sea dogs who are the AA farm team for the Boston Red Sox. They were not always the farm team for the Sox as several years ago they were the AA farm team to the Florida Marlins. I think they made the right move switching the the Boston Red Sox. It seemed like a perfect match given their proximity to Boston's iconic Fenway Park and New England's Boston Red Sox. The stadium is located adjacent to Fitzpatrick Stadium and the home of the Maine Red Claws basketball team. It's a decent size stadium with not one bad seat in the entire stadium. General admission is reasonably priced and honestly has some of the better seats near the top of the stands if you like the higher view. If you want to sit closer to the field, it's not going to cost you a mortgage payment or even a car payment. All their tickets are reasonably priced and affordable for all levels of income. As they are smaller venue, the food is better quality than a stadium trying to feed 40,000 hungry people. They offer all your typical baseball stadium staples and most will indulge in more than one Sea Dog Biscuit. What is a Sea Dog Biscuit you ask? Well, its two chocolate chip Cookies with ice cream in between them and usually has chocolate chips outlining the outside of the sandwich. It's heaven in your mouth if you ask me as I could take six of them down in a single game. If you haven't had one, go buy another ticket and get back over there and try one. You will not be disappointed. If you have made it this far into my review, you obviously enjoy my writing or you want to know more about Hadlock Field. Well, head to the Sea Dogs website and purchase some tickets before the season ends. You will not be disappointed. Did I say that already? Well, I am not kidding when I say it because the Sea Dog ball club offers a great experience for baseball enthusiasts and families. Are you still here? Take me out to the ball gameeeeeee. No really. Please take me out to a Seadog's game because at only $12/ticket for the best seats in the house, they're the perfect mid-week date night and/or chance for Sox fans to get a preview of the next generation of players and/or for families to spend time. Prices are even less for kiddos. The one place you'll get caught up is with the cost of food and drink at the ballpark. While hot dogs are the budget-friendly way to go, they're not the most satisfying or filling option. I prefer to pick up something at the Shipyard grill on the 3rd base side, which seems to have the best options for food, IMO. For drinks, I like the craft brew stand on the 1st base side, which seems to have the most options. Beers are about $6/pop for a small plastic cup. Going bud lite inside the concession stand might give you some more bang for your buck. My overall suggestion to maximize your night is to pick an awesome place to do food and drinks near the ballpark so you don't need as much during the game. Don't miss: seadogs biscuits around the 7th for a snack. Skip the soft serve served in a bucket hat and GO FOR the ice cream sandwiches between two chocolate chip cookies. Headlock field and the Portland SeaDogs were a magnificent date night out after this long (and still going) pandemic. From the cheap seats all over the stadium ($12 a piece for right behind home plate. What a dream?) to the easy access of tickets on our phone, close by parking (less than 3 blocks and only $10) and the delicious Sea Biscuts ( ice cream sandwiches) this place is *chef kiss* Did I mention it was fireworks night and they lasted 15 minutes? the SeaDogs lost, but we're definitely coming back for more! read more

Great place to see a game! Bring a seat pad as most seats are metal bench style. Some of the lower bowl and way high up seats are actual seats. Concourse could use some updating. This place was built in 1994....makes me think they hired the same architects that did the original Foxboro Stadium in Foxboro, Mass. haha. Anyways, enjoyed the experience. Parking is always ridiculous around here, but there is a garage just off Forest St. Was $10 this time....cheaper than a parking ticket/tow! read more

I love the intimacy of the ballpark, the Maine Monster, the field itself looked flawless. It's in a quiet neighborhood which I think adds to the ambiance. The in seat ordering is not available in GA seating areas according to the website, however I saw lots of in seat deliveries in GA, could just be me being dumb but my niece and I couldn't figure that out. Spent almost two innings waiting in line for food. Could not get anywhere near the team store mid game, line was huge! On the plus side there was zero wait times on the restrooms when I needed them. I recommend getting assigned seats, the GA situation was a disaster some seats have an extremely obstructed view in left field. Understaffed in the section as well, one usher was doing his absolute best to deal with rude people and kept smiling and joking. The pretzels and plastic nacho cheese was delicious, niece loved the crinkle cut French Fries. I knew it was going to be sold out because of a Chris Sale rehab assignment and thought the staff did the best they could with an overflow crowd. I know it's New England and we are noted for our sarcasm and sharp tongues but folks attending the game could be more kind to the workers, I don't know how many sellouts a year there are but hopefully management has learned they need more staff or better systems in place to handle crowd size. It was my first baseball game in over a year and a family tradition I have with my nieces, first visit to Hadlock and I can say we will be back with reserved seating in hand. Very nice field, like a mini Fenway with the green monster in left. Tickets are reasonable, general admission seats are $9 advanced/$10 game day, and those seats are bench style but they do have backs to them. Just bring a cushion to make it more comfortable. reserved seats are a little tight but there isn't a bad seat in the house. They have a on field contest for the kids between every inning and the mascot "Seadog" entertains as well. Typical high prices for food and drink, $6.50 for a 12 oz. Bud and $3,25 for a bottle of water. But all and all a great value of entertainment for the money. One more thing, parking can be brutal if there is something going on at same time over at the hockey, basketball or track stadiums that are next to each other. We paid $5 at the ISIR lot. Hadlock Field wins the "best value" award for summer entertainment in Portland. Anymore, it seems like any random concert ticket or beer festival will run you at least $50 pp, but the Portland Sea Dogs....$13 for an entire afternoon/evening of entertainment. I've always walked by Hadlock Field and wondered what it looked like inside. After finally going to a game, I can tell you that it is AMAZING! It's like a miniature MLB stadium, where every seat has an impressive view. In true Portland fashion, the beer selection is great. They have a special beer hut that is dedicated to local breweries - they even have Lonepine on tap! The beer prices, however, will not be winning any "best value" awards. The only place where I see Hadlock Field could improve is in their food selection. Portland is a food city, and that is not represented at Hadlock Field. Honestly, the food looked like what you would get at a high school football game concession stand (cardboard pizza, stale nachos). I feel like in this day and age, people are looking for more from their food. All in all, Hadlock Field is an important institution in Portland and everyone should experience what it has to offer. Headlock Field is one of my favorite places in Portland. I love baseball so why wouldn't I love it?!? The Sea Dogs are so much fun! I go to at least one game per month with my daughter. We both really enjoy it. Food choices are what you'll expect from a ball park and is priced accordingly. Beer prices are reasonable as well. Game prices are wicked reasonable and Hoods Kid's Club gets free tickets for kids club games for kids up to age 16. What an adorable ball park! I had a such a great time watching a Portland Seadog's game on Sunday. In between innings there are cute games - usually played by children - like race the mascot around the bases or musical inflatable chairs. When the Seadog's hit a home run - a light house rises over the outfield wall and fireworks go off! It's a AA ballpark so there's a good chance you're watching players who you'll later see on the Red Sox. The seats are great and spacious. The food prices are reasonable - $3.25 for a hot dog. If you're used to games at Fenway Park - Hadlock Field will make you pinch yourself. (But in a good way!) read more

Hadlock Field has a place in my heart because I remember growing up in this area and attending games with my family and friends. The stadium is clean and the staff is always very friendly. The food has always been good, classic stadium food. They have some good beers on tap and Angry Orchard cider. Every thing is kind of expensive, but it's expected. I love that you can see future Red Sox players. Also, the tickets are very affordable and there isn't really a bad seat in the house. Hadlock Field is a quintessential minor league ballpark. It has charm, and has been modeled around Fenway, with a Green Monster left field wall, and its own Citgo sign. Sightlines and seating is excellent, and pricing for game tickets and food and beverages is modest. Always lots of kids enjoying themselves. Parking can me a bit of a challenge....some of the businesses on St. John's street charge for parking in their lots......that's probably the best option. Overall a very nice value for a day of baseball. Solid 4 stars read more

Nice little stadium. It's an AA team of Boston so you may get lucky and see a player doing a rehab assignment or two. Not a huge stadium so it adds to the nice involved in the game feel. My only really down fall is the lack of parking. Sure you can pay $10 in a school parking or business but just walk two blocks and park on the near by streets. It would though be nice to actually go thru the team store instead of everything behind a counter. The staff is more then willing to help you just feel that more would be sold if you are able to see the merchandise closer. Other then that a fun few hours with a fun mascot and friendly staff. read more

As a fan of watching minor league ballgames in person, I decided to check out a Portland Sea Dogs game at Hadlock Field. Prices and amenities were reasonable, and I was able to quickly buy a ticket to the game. You have your typical concessions, plus the Shipyard Grill. Seating is comfortable, even in the general admission sections. There's a few bells and whistles, which is standard at any ballpark. This is an enjoyable place to watch a ballgame. read more

This minor league ballpark is everything I need in an MiLB park, and a very welcome change from the huge MLB stadiums. The seats are fine, tickets are easy to purchase, food and drinks aren't as unreasonable as at other stadiums, and while parking can get tricky if you arrive too close to the opening pitch, you can legitimately ride your bicycle to this stadium and chain it up outside. Favorite team and favorite stadium to watch baseball in. The atmosphere is great and you can tell the team is invested in the city and the city is invested in the team. We have been to three games during the past two summers and if I could go to every game they play on our vacations I would. The first game we went to was a Friday night and Lauren and I actually got onto the field between innings to try and catch rubber lobsters in a lobster pod that were being hurled at us by staff using lacrosse sticks. If we had caught five we would have won a gift card to a local store but sadly we only caught three in the time allotted. There is a great selection of local craft beers available and the food is good. The team store is in the stadium and stocked with items that feature one the best mascots there is in all of America, Slugger the Sea Dog. We're headed back to Portland this July and I know one place we'll be no matter what. Hadlock truly is a 9 inning vacation! read more
