There are few companies out there that truly take the time to explain options and who care about their clients as much as Maine State Credit Union. My business is 28 years old today and over the years I've had varying reasons for a small business loan or a line of credit now and again. I've had business loans from banks and from credit unions and I'd have to say that the easiest and most enjoyable application for a commercial loan was when working with Bruce Harrington from Maine State Credit Union. He took the time to explain which product was the right one for me and truly cared about me and my business. I've had two business loans and one commercial line of credit through Bruce from MSCU and I couldn't be happier. My business is flourishing because of it! these people have a disfunctional apparatus for making simple remote deposits. Their APP WON'T Work! So I guess they want to repossess the cars, and houses. Warning: Do NOT Use! There are very few credit unions that manage to copy the terrible customer service of large corporate banks AND wholly fails to capture that local credit union feel and personal touch that credit unions are known for - but Maine State Credit Union manages to fail at both and doesnt seem to care. I have never had a bank (much less a credit union!) make me feel like they are against me...on another team...trying to make my life harder. If you need more frustration and conflict and debate in your life, this is the credit union for you! The fraud alerts will drive you insane as well. read more

They do random fraud alerts that you can't turn off and sometimes don't send the text for the alert so when you go into the store in the morning to get some food/drink for the day you can't. And it's beyond frustrating starting your day with that. Switching banks today. read more

they suck at everything and give me fraud alerts anytime I purchase anything. but the two times my information WAS taken they never alerted me. and they use AI now so that sucks as well. read more

I'm rather young so i'm new to this whole credit union and banking thing. I originally opened an online-only bank account but realized the need for a brick-and-mortar financial institution so I went for a credit union. I was expecting everything to be big and scary but when I walked up to the counter saying i wanted to open an account the lady was very nice and walked me through everything. The only reason why i'm not leaving a 5 star review is because I tried linking my previous bank through the mobile app and it said I had reached..my minimum transfer limit of 0$?? That was weird but i've had no other difficulties so far. I got the debit card which they asked me to call a number an hour after I received it so I did and an automated voice set up the card. I recently used the debit card to purchase something at the local store so I know it works. No grievances so far but i'll update if I run into any. read more

I have been a member for 20 years. Excellent service every time. Friendly staff, fast service for loans credit card service and the tellers. I honestly have not had a bad experience since I became a member. read more
