AVOID THIS COMPANY OR IT WILL COST YOU! What should have…read morebeen a straightforward one-day move turned into an absolute nightmare of broken promises, surprise charges, and a stunning lack of accountability. We were quoted $3,400 for a one-day move with two large trucks and a four-man crew--based on an in-person walk-through. Instead, they showed up with one truck and only two movers, who then had to call their management for help. Later, a 3rd person arrived with a small truck. Because of the company's inadequate resources--not ours--the job dragged into a second day. When I was notified of this by management mid-move, I clearly stated that this was unacceptable and that no additional charges would be tolerated. At the end of Day 1, they charged us $5,300--nearly $2K over the estimate. On Day 2, the crew abandoned the job and left behind multiple clearly labeled items. We were forced to rent a U-Haul and finish the move ourselves--at our own expense. Then came the final blow: they charged our credit card an additional $1,300 without authorization, notice, or explanation. When we repeatedly contacted management to resolve the issue, they dismissed our concerns. Their only excuse? "The estimate was off." The gap between the estimate and the final price is staggering. Is this incompetence--or is it their business model? Two Men and A Truck overpromises, underdelivers, and then CHARGES YOU FOR THEIR MISTAKES. Unless you're prepared to pay double what you were quoted, stay far away.

Next time if you can't figure out where to park your truck in 60 seconds or less (I was stuck for more than 5 minutes) move along to a safe spot and contact the homeowner and coordinate OFF SITE! Told me if you want to save money pack as much of it as you can and we'll pack what's left. We packed up 90% of the house. There packers came to my house weeks later to finish and was there for 1.5 hours and charged me $850.00. After the move the price was $800 more than what was quoted to me because they said we were 3000# over the estimated weight price. I can see being off by 1000# but 3000#? When I contacted the "franchise manager" Chris of the Garner, NC office, he told me he would look into it. Waiting for his reply verbally never came. A week later I received an email from him basically saying " tough shit" and he charged my credit card. The balance of the move with the additional $800. What better way to get your business. They give you the cheapest quote and charge you a deposit then after the move is done they tell you your weight is more than they said it was. That goes for the packing portion also. If they would have packed my entire 2300 sq ft house how do they come up with $1500-2000 quote? It would have taken them at least 4 more hours to pack the whole house and would have been much more than quoted. These guys under quote there prices to get your business. When they do the job the price is considerably higher. Go with someone else. What is the purpose of a virtual walk thru when it means nothing to the final bill? I knew it was an estimated weight but being off 3000# is unacceptable.

We've called twice to get a local office to respond and filed a claim. Absolutely WORST movers we've ever hired. Never again. Very mixed feelings about College Hunks. Two of the gentleman were friendly and moderately professional, one made me feel very uncomfortable. Regarding the care of our furniture...sons items were wrapped, some were not. It was hard for me to keep an eye on things as I have a broken foot, really limited my ability to track how items were handled. One piece of furniture ended up with significant dirt on the side, very disappointing. There was some open complaining about a piece of heavy furniture, belching, a few swear words, just things that aren't very polite or professional. They ended up taking MUCH longer than the quoted 3 hours, ended up at almost SIX hours! Original quote was $700, ended up at just under $1,200. Overall, I would not hire them again.

The lead guy, suggested I leave before them so I could stop by the bank to get cash for a tip because it's an incentive to do a good job. I watched them load the truck, they threw my items in the truck and dropped a number of my totes upon unloading. I'm sure there are better movers available. I'll do a better job of researching movers next time.
