They were very responsive when it came to talking about price, but the movers were more than three hours late and it was impossible to get in touch with anybody on a Friday afternoon. They were supposed to arrive between 12 and 3 PM, but didn't get to my place until 7:30 PM. At this point it was almost dark and getting a little dangerous to be moving stuff around. Three days later and there still has been no response about why they were so late. Apparently, the young men working had been on the job since eight or 9 AM so it seems like they're probably overworked. They were fine once they got there, but the lack of response and lateness is inexcusable. read more

Needed a local move of 12 miles with mainly larger furniture pieces. I was quoted prices that ranged from mostly ridiculously expensive to reasonable. Rent A Mover offered a quote with upfront and transparent pricing which wasn't common based on other places I'd called. They were also prompt in their communication and available for the date and time I needed. Elijah and Jacob were my movers and they were professional and courteous. They took the time to listen to our requests and comments and made the move go smoothly. They were quick and efficient and were were able to do the move in the estimated time. We received an estimate for a local move. When we contacted them for a firm set up once a date was known the price went from an estimated $600 to well over $1400. Recommend going to a mover with a flat hourly rate and truck fee instead of someone who pads the quote with mileage, incremental prices and other tack ons. Our final mover charged a flat rate by the hour. Estimated 3 hours. Took 3.5. Did not charge mileage rate nor extra stop fee to pick up items in off site storage. read more

We decided to hire Rent a Vet after they responded to our quote request lightning fast and the estimate was so reasonable. Three wonderful guys showed up right on time the day of our move, a Friday afternoon. We asked for 1:30 pm, they were ready. All of the men were very polite and very professional - the estimate that we received included packing tape, blankets and full wrap. They did a terrific job, were very considerate of our belongings and moved quickly. We moved about 20 minutes further out and they met us at our new house and were very respectful of it being a new home - brand new carpets, etc. They were done moving all of our items by about 6:30 pm, cleaned all of their trash and wrap up before leaving. I was pretty anxious trying to pick a company to help me move and unload our pod. My wife was a little concerned about strangers coming into the home and handling all our stuff. After working with these guys I am confident I made the right choice and I will definitely be getting major husband kudos for hiring rent a vet from my wife. The office team was very responsive with the quote and being able to see it in my email and put online was great. When it came to moving day our pod came early and I called on short notice to see if the team could come out a day early and the office said they'd see and call me back in 15 minutes. Shortly after that they called and said they'd make it happen! From there they kept me informed about the arrival times and such of the guys. Talk about going above and beyond. Now the real icing on this cake was Isaiah and Rob. What a team! These guys were badasses that didn't stop working. They were worth every penny. There was absolutely no milking the clock or anything like that. Best of all they didn't bang stuff around and damage walls or furniture...they really treated our stuff and us respectfully. They moved fast but carefully. My mother in law came out and gave some snacks/drinks to them and Rob made sure to express his sincere appreciation before leaving....what a classy guy! Most of the move went very well but did not finish strong. Boxes labeled for rooms did not go to those rooms or ended up in other rooms. The upstairs furniture did not get reassembled and still has the wrapping from the company on it. One of the printer was still wrapped in the blankets. They did not walk the close with us to find these things out. Time estimates was the time done and most of the team was very friendly. From start to finish, the communication with Ila and Dirul, the driver, was outstanding. Dirul and his helper sent photos of the bench, how they wrapped it and how it looked in the truck. It's just OK. Used their service twice. First time was perfect, two guys arrived and they were very careful with all my stuff, they did a great job. After that I left my initial 5-star review. Now, second time wasn't nearly close... Movers called on the moving day, and asked if I want 3 people instead of 2 to move my stuff faster? I said I'm fine with only two guys, just like it was on the 1st time I used their service. Okay, no problem. But after a few hours, still 3 guys arrived. I wasn't charged extra, it's not my complaint, but I felt like they really were in a hurry, literally were just rushing through... so I ended up getting one of the corners of hi-fi component stand smashed(!), tv stand got a few scuffs on a wooden side, and computer desk corner was hit as well. While tv stand and desk got minor damage, well it's unpleasant but I guess I can live with it, hifi component stand will require shelf replacement, which will run me around $80. What upsets me the most, is that 1st time I used their service I left nearly no tips on a top of what I owed for the service, and those other guys did a great job. But second time there were different guys, who dealt damage to my stuff, and I also gave them good tips in cash... I should have spent that money for shelf replacement instead, but unfortunately at the time when everything was unloaded I haven't noticed anything wrong, and everything kinda happened really fast. Secondly- after that they send you an email asking for feedback, I've reported damaged items and... you guessed it - no one reached out back to me to sort this out. read more

DON'T BOOK THIS SERVICE. NEVER. The reason for this rating is for the lack of Commitment and false information that they provided when I used them for my recent move. The representative confirmed me a rate of 140$ per hour and minimum of 2 hrs so total 280. The movers came, shifted my stuff and at the end to my surprise they added an additional charge of 65$ in the name of fuel/transport etc. When I called the lady who made my booking, she told me they must have wrapped or packed something for you and I said no, then she called her owner and then owner called me back stating that I heard u are not paying my guys the full amount. I explained him the whole scenario that her employee did not mention any such charge while confirming the booking. Rather than accepting his mistake he got rude and said that the paper that u signed has this additional charge mentioned- Cummon once I have been confirmed a rate on phone booking do i really care whats there on paper - Thats my mistake that I trusted. I called the lady again and now she started saying I had sent you an email with charges information and it had 65 mentioned when i made the booking and the surprising thing is that I never got any such email. Utter lies. The owner was so rude and sarcastic as if he was doing a favour to me. I will NEVER recommend this company as they are not trustworthy and lack commitment. My 2 cents. read more

We were looking for a company to held load our items from our current home into a storage unit while we rented and looked for our next house. I got a quick response when originally contacting Rent A Vet, but no one arrived for the first scheduled estimate. Fortunately, they did arrive for the rescheduled time. We were able to schedule the move for the morning of our preferred day, which was great! Our move was with Elijah, James, TJ, and Jahqwon. The team was schedule to arrive between 9-10 am. I received a call at 10 that they would be arriving in 30 minutes, so the team did run a bit late. They arrived with a large truck, introduced themselves, and promptly got to work. These guys work HARD. I mean, they were really working hard to get everything we needed moved into the truck as fast as they could while still protecting everything. It was a rainy, cold, miserable day but they kept steadily wrapping everything and getting it into the truck. The original quote had been pretty much spot on. It was expected to be a 2-3 hour move and took about 3 hours. In terms of effort, I was really impressed with the team. The team was lifting furniture with two people that I expected would need four! Unfortunately, in the rush, we ended up with 2 pretty deep gashes in our drywall. Though I feel like that is pretty par for the course with moving. I would definitely recommend scheduling your move for the morning, if possible. The guys were heading to their next job and I can't imagine they weren't exhausted after the morning that they had.
