I was sort of in a daze (I had been to Bon Iver's concert the night before) and my aimless wandering led me to discover they had Kip & Co linen sheets! A brand I had been trying to get my mittens on for a while, winter was coming** - so I bought a beautiful crushed blue quilt cover to cocoon myself in bed. The lady working was so lovely and helpful, and we had a rather loud squealing moment when we realised we had BOTH BEEN TO THE SAME CONCERT. I'm not sure if home wares, is the most accurate description, I think it is more accurate to say they sell stuff, whether you are looking for a unique and interesting gift or if you (like me) collect interesting objects to create your own bizarre little world, this is one shop where you will find it. I now for the first time in my life want a baby, not one that I have to feed, change or talk to but one of the frightening demonic babies on sale in Macleay and Manning. These babies are truly creepy they have an evil look in their eyes and their little outstretched arms seem like if you leaned too close they might reach right into your chest and remove your soul, they are so cool I WANT ONE! One weekend I was helping my friend move from one side of city to another and I get a call to say, your clog clock has arrived, I was very excited so My partner, my friend and i took some time out to come into the city to collect the clock. After getting in to Potts Point and finding parking we go into the store and I advise that I am here to pick up the clock i had on ordered, the owner who we had dealt with previously said "its no here yet its still in customs, I said I got a call to say it was in and I could collect it.. at this stage I was a little cranky as we had wasted about 2 hours coming into the store and dragging my partner and friend along for the ride. She then advised well its not in, and ripped my order out of her book and threw it in the bin. After that I had never been back into the store, I have seen things in the window, but if you shop around you can find the same items cheaper a lot cheaper I will never go back ever ....

My favourite thing in Domo is their furniture, they sell the most amazing lounge suites, many of them other quite other worldly, I can picture a sophisticated, well dressed alien reclining on this kind of furniture. I would describe the lounge designs but they are so unique and innovative I honestly don't know how. They have the coolest display cabinet I have ever seen, consisting of uneven lopsided cubes it again follows the futuristic style they offer, yet it somehow does not seem over the top. He was the most helpful man and even though he didn't see it in the shop he was going to contact the worker who was there the day before and call me back (all of this not even knowing if I left it in his store or not). I eventually found my camera and contacted the store manager thanking him for his efforts. The store itself is situated in the courtyard where patrons of Bills are dining. A sister store to there location in Potts Point, this store is much more compact, but has a great variety of beautiful items. I've purchased a couple of gifts here and there unique selection of items and beautiful gift wrapping make it such a great place to get one of a kind item gifts. The last time I was there I was looking at a selection of beautiful designed silk scarves. The store manager pulled out a number of designs for me to see and we had some fun trying different styles and colours. There is always such a great vibe about this store and the staff is helpful without being pushy or salesman-like. If you are on the look out for a sophisticated and unique gift for someone or just want to find something to pamper yourself, Becker Minty is a great place to look.
