As is always the case with hotels, they look much nicer online than they actually are. However, the discrepancy was so much bigger with Maison Venezia.
The Annex (1 star)
We stayed in their annex, which seemed much older than the main building. As you can see in my photos, our room in the annex was shabby and worn out. There was no elevator, either.
Service (4 stars)
I'm happy with the service they provided. They brought us toiletries we needed (e.g., tooth brushes, down pillows, etc). They also booked a concert ticket for us.
Food (3 stars)
There's almost always food in the breakfast room. Snacks (e.g., cookies, nuts, chips) and drinks (e.g., coffee, tea, water) during daytime, and wine in the evening. Their breakfast (hot and cold food) was average, in fact on a lower end for a 4 star hotel.
Location (3 stars)
It's in a quiet neighborhood close to the Rialto Bridge. It's also within an easy walking distance from St. Marks Square (about 20 minutes). Water taxi to the airport was 120 euro.
Recommendation
I would not stay here again, nor do I recommend this hotel. If you decide to stay here, definitely avoid the annex. You just will not get a 4 star hotel experience in the annex.
