The playground is a hit with my kids and makes it easy to stop and let them burn off energy while walking around downtown. It feels welcoming, lively, and well integrated into the surrounding downtown.

There was a kiddie zip line, a bungee trampoline, a 200' slide, a wagon ride, a train ride, picture opportunities, and so so much more! They sold s'mores kits and had several fire pits for roasting marshmallows. The entire staff of the event couldn't have been any nicer or any more helpful to us. This was our first year going but it's definitely not our last for sure. HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this. Get there early so you can enjoy the fun during daylight.

We live near this private pool and have considering joining since moving to Lewisville in July…read more2022. Our neighbors recently invited us to visit as their guests. They are also new to the neighborhood but joined at the beginning of the season. We learned they are open from Memorial Day to Labor Day weekends, 7 days per week, (Monday-Saturday from 11am-8pm and Sunday from 1-8pm). Upon entering, we weren't quite sure what to expect but were quickly impressed. There is a small check-in/office area which is occupied by at least one employee/lifeguard. We also noticed they offer basic snack related items such as freshly popped popcorn, packaged chips, bottled soda and candy related items. They may offer more than that as well but we didn't look closely. Upon entering the gate there are plenty of lounge chairs on 3 sides of the large pool. There are also plenty of tables and chairs in both table/umbrella/chair sets and wooden picnic tables under a pergola area. Therefore, it appears all the tables are at least partially shaded. We found a table area to place our items and small cooler since our neighbors advised us we could bring our cooler with both adult and non-adult beverages. The pool is L-shaped and based on the details within the brochure, covers 4,400 square feet. The pool begins at 2 feet and the majority of the pool is 3 1/2 to 4 feet in depth which allows both adults and children to relax and cool off while the area with the diving board is 12 feet deep. There are at least two lifeguards on duty at all times. 15 minutes of each hour they alert members via a whistle which means children must exit the pool for the 15 minute period to rest. The pool was initially a bit chilly but we quickly begin to feel refreshed in the hot August weather. We enjoyed chatting and sipping on our favorite summer beverages. While there were families of all sizes enjoying the pool it did seem to be a good fit for those of us who no longer have kids at home. There are both women's and men's restrooms in the bathhouse area complete that were adequately stocked. Overall, they could be cleaner but they are adequate for a pool environment. We have always considered putting in a pool as we have lived in different areas and homes and have explored different options including swim spas, container pools, stock tanks and above ground pools. In the end, it came down to cost and maintenance. We've came to the conclusion over the years that the cost and maintenance to have our own probably doesn't make sense based on the amount of usage and space it would occupy. After coming one time we looked into the cost to join late in the summer. We found more information at www.willowrunpool.com and were able to email our questions. We decided to join for the month of August and plan to be back in May 2024. The cost of membership allows us to utilize a pool that is less than 1.5 miles from our home and leaves the upkeep and associated costs to someone else. We are excited to continue to enjoy!

Green Needles park is tucked away in a neighborhood in south Lexington, right off 285/52. Just…read morelook for the Green Needles Road exit. The park has never been busy when I have visited. If you want to avoid the crowds then I can recommend this park. As far as highlights, Green Needles has a nice playground for the kids. It's all one large unit that has small rock climbing walls, slides and other fun stuff. The equipment is up to date and safe. Green Needles also has a basketball court (outdoors), pavilion, picnic tables, benches, bike rack, doggie bag station, large green space, and a giant boulder. It does NOT have any restrooms, which sucks because there is nowhere close by to take a leak. Downsides, other than no restrooms, - No mature trees around the playground which means the slides get hot in the summer - You have to deal with hearing and seeing traffic on 285/52
