I went to Celeste for a gold crown about 10 years ago, she must have just been starting out and was in another practice with an older dentist, so this must have been some of her earliest work. This crown is absolutely beautiful. It's a work of art. It has been perfect for the better part of a decade that I've had it; perfectly aligned to the tooth, positioned well, prepared well. It has never hurt, never had puffy gums around it, and I usually forget it's there until I actually see it. I literally get compliments on this particular crown every time I visit other dentists. (I have moved and her practice is out of my insurance network, otherwise I'd still be seeing her) From what I remember of our appointment she was kind, and took the time to answer my questions and explain the process to me. Celeste's attention to detail is phenomenal. And it didn't hurt. All these years later I remember Celeste was blessed with tiny hands, which doesn't necessarily make or break a dentist, but it sure helps! She's the best dentist in Cache Valley, and I would refer her to anyone I know with ironclad confidence.

I wish I had a more positive review for this dental practice. However, I just experienced a "bait…read moreand switch" from their billing department. This is ultimately a reflection on the whole office. I had an appointment I waited 6 months for (a cavity to fill) and as the appointment drew closer, they were checking to see if I had the same insurance. I did not. I told them specifically that I had NO INSURANCE and wanted to know the cost if paid by cash. They sent me a "plan" which I was told I had to sign. When I arrived at the appointment on Tuesday, August 6th, the charge was over $100.00 more. When I told them I was disappointed that the charge was so much more, I am unemployed and had budgeted for the original (signed contract) amount, they hummed and hawed and said, " Oh our rates have increased and sometimes the system doesn't catch it". Wrong. Just wrong. I got the contract less than 7 days prior, and that contract should have been honored. I can't do business with this sloppy bookkeeping.

I scheduled full body skin exams for my wife and me. When asked if we wanted them at the same time,…read moreI said no--I had private concerns I only wanted to discuss one-on-one, not in front of my wife. My wife also specifically did not want to be examined in front of a male provider, which is why we chose Heather Allred. Despite that, we were taken back together. Once we were in gowns, Heather entered the room with two additional people--a MALE staff member and a female med student--without asking for consent. That is something that should be addressed beforehand, not after they're already standing in the room. It puts patients in an extremely awkward position where it's difficult to speak up or object in the moment. The exam itself felt rushed and careless. The med student examined one side of my body while Heather examined the other, but only Heather used a magnifying headband. Heather even mentioned that tattooed skin is harder to evaluate for cancer, yet both my tattooed arm and my wife's sleeved arm were quickly checked by the med student without any magnification and were never double-checked by Heather. That contradiction alone was concerning. I understand that teaching is part of medicine, but patients should be asked before extra people are brought into such a sensitive exam, and a student's work should be properly verified. My entire "full body" exam lasted just over four minutes (I timed it on my watch), and my wife's was about as quick, aside from having three spots frozen off her hand. My wife is a redhead with a large number of freckles and moles, and there is no way a thorough scan could have been completed in that amount of time. It was pretty clear our two appointments were combined to save time, at the expense of a thorough and careful exam. Even more concerning, no private areas were examined at all--which is exactly where I had concerns and one of the main reasons for booking a full body exam. Those are areas patients can't easily evaluate themselves. Unfortunately, with the size of my audience I didn't ask for, I was far too uncomfortable to speak up and ask why those areas were skipped, let alone bring up my initial concerns. Why offer a "full body" exam if parts of the body are simply skipped? If a provider is too embarrassed to examine all areas when medically appropriate, that defeats the purpose entirely. The priority should be identifying potential health risks--not preserving comfort at the expense of a thorough evaluation. I went in expecting a thorough, private, one-on-one professional skin cancer screening. Instead, I got a rushed, incomplete, and uncomfortable five-person hangout. I was there for a proper medical evaluation--not to have my concerns sidelined in favor of convenience or anyone else's comfort over potentially serious health issues. If you're looking for a thorough, actual full body skin exam, do not choose Lone Pine. If you're looking for a private, one-on-one exam, don't choose Lone Pine. If your priority is catching something serious early, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
