I looked at reviews ahead of time and contacted Maggie at Sanctuary Salon. She called back quickly to say she had availability the day after the holiday. I had my formula from my reg hair stylist. Not complicated very basic 7N 20%. I arrived and the service began. I struggled with whether to write this review or not but after contemplating I think it's important that service providers get honest feedback otherwise they can't improve. Maggie also volunteered to do some foil highlights for me which I usually do every other apt. I agreed as long as it didn't impact her schedule. The end result was that I'm not sure what happened but she didn't really put the root cover throughout for example both sides around my ears got nothing so gray remained and the gray cover on roots didn't last. I have very little gray as it is. I thought when she was done that something was amiss and then the next day I knew it was the case. As far as the highlighting foils you couldn't tell I'd even had any highlights at all. My hair really looked like it did when I walked in. I'm not sure if it didn't process long enough or the formula was wrong or what happened maybe I needed a toner applied not sure . I paid quite a bit for these services and gave a very nice tip. What I have learned is that I really need to do more research and make sure the reviews are more current. I don't mind paying for great service at all and Maggie was very nice I just wish it had been a quality service.

Lori is MAD SKILLED and I am so grateful to have discovered her while on vacation. She took one look at my pandemic locks and got a glint of genius in her eye. I feel like a million bucks but the cost of my makeover was definitely not expensive. For the cut, color, and highlights she gave me I would have paid at least 50% more back home, and let me just underscore that the quality would not have been on par with what Lori did for me. Also I enjoyed interacting with Kristin who was working next to Lori's station while I was there. She was such a sweetheart and gave me a free bottle of shine treatment which Lori applied for me at the end of my cut and color. I was convinced that I needed a keratin smoothing because I couldn't get my crazy frizz tamed but Lori has proven what I've read and heard but never experienced that with the right cut, I can actually love my crazy curls.
