They had 3 people on staff for our party. I brought balloons, snacks, drinks, cupcakes and colorful tablecloths. I wheeled in my items from the car, dropped them off at the front with the team, and they literally did the rest. Super turn-key. The first portion is play time and then you move to the party room for snacks and cake. You can also have some snacks laid out in the front part of the play area. The party room is in the back and I had meant to go in and give them some basic set-up directions prior to us going in, but totally forgot. I ran into the room while folks were already filing in as I hadn't even viewed the room, yet, and it looked amazing! They had laid out all the snacks and drinks; they supplied plates, napkins, basic party tablecloths and a royal birthday chair and birthday banner. I didn't even have cake stands so brought a few plates from home to display the cupcakes, but they had some cute cake stands and took it upon themselves to beautifully display them! Far better than what I would have done! They even took it upon themselves to move the balloons from spot to spot as the party migrated - whatever looked the best! Then they helped pack up the leftovers and clean everything. Easy peasy. They do include 18% gratuity, but with the amount of mental load they took off my plate, it was 100% worth it. And of course, the kids loved it! The only thing I wish they had was a bit longer play time option. The kids LOVED playing and wanted more! The venue and level of service is truly exceptional! Located in the local & city combo vibed Geary neighborhood in San Francisco, Peek-a-Boo packs a lot into a well organized kids space. Although it has limited seating, the entry way contains some retro distraction as you wait to be let into the main play area where your party time begins - those coin operated machines from the 80's that you win a prize from when you turn the slot with 2-4 quarters. My nephew & I played two. Then as his friends and their parents started arriving, it was the official time for his party start time and so our family could walk through the locked gate into the kids world of swings, slides, climbing walls, and colorful tunnels and passageways. For an estimated 90 minutes, about 20 kids ran through the time of their lives as their parents and Auntie looked on in awe haha! A face painter was also setup on one side of that main room who painted next level and intricate animal, tribal, and celestial themed designs on some of the kids' faces while the others played. When the clock ticked to a certain time, the staff made an announcement to head towards the back party room for pizza, cupcakes, and presents. (My brother chose the food options and arranged for them to be delivered ahead of time.) The staff had setup the room perfectly, with a happy birthday banner over the cupcakes on the middle table, then little tables setup on both sides of that table with snacks, drinks, pizza, goodie bags, and long tables setup in the middle for the kiddos to sit at comfortably as they entered the room. Then the staff served them pizza. It was a sweet time - filled with laughter, smiles, birthday song, and full bellies. What a wonderful Sunday afternoon of childhood bliss!

There are a few different areas to play, including one for basketball and one for dodgeball. The kids didn't play at the basketball area as much since there were teenagers playing there but they enjoyed the main trampoline area where there are plenty of trampolines to jump around and a section where you can dive onto a mat. The place is considerably clean and we didn't find anything that would have raised any concerns. However, the set up for birthday parties can be lacking since there's a long table for guests to sit and eat but it can be cramped if your party size is larger than 10 children. The space for guests to use when hosting a party can create a bottleneck when the food arrives, with everyone trying to get food in a limited space. Luckily the party next to us finished early so we ended up using their table as well. Parking in the area can be challenging during the weekends, and costs $3 per hour. We found this place to be safe enough to let your kids run around by themselves while parents can relax.

There wasn't much foot traffic when we arrived at opening, and the employees were efficient from check in through the gift shop. We finished the entire aquarium in about 45 minutes. The entrance opened into a large tank filled with plump schools of sardines. A few additional exhibits led into the photo area. The souvenir photos came out crisp, though it was amusingly obvious that we had been photoshopped onto grainy animal backdrops. Interestingly, the path then led outdoors to the next exhibit area, guided by chalk markings on the ground. There were five species of jellyfish displayed in beautifully illuminated tanks before entering a surrounding glass tunnel featuring sharks, rays, and a variety of fish. There were occasional shark presentations, though I was disappointed there wasn't a designated seating area. Everyone awkwardly stood off to the side while trying to listen to the educational talk. Fortunately, the sharks themselves were active and impressive to watch. The final section featured a stingray touch tank. Surprisingly, there wasn't an easily accessible hand washing station immediately afterward. The turtles were active, the snakes were peacefully lounging, and although there weren't many otters, they appeared healthy, sleek, and well cared for. Ironically, the gift shop was the most well stocked with a wide variety of souvenirs. The photo package cost $35 and included a magnet. Despite what some reviews suggested, it never became crowded during our visit, so arriving near opening seems to be the best strategy. This makes for a pleasant addition to a day exploring San Francisco, especially given its convenient location near the pier. However, I wouldn't visit expecting an experience comparable to some of the country's more renowned aquariums.

I didn't see any stairs as an option. I had an aquarium pass through my Go City pass and after the North Beach tour (also included in the Go City pass) that ended at Pier 39, I thought going to the aquarium would nice since it was "free," as opposed to $30.48 for an adult. The underwater tunnels were nice, and I really enjoyed the touch tank to touch a purple sea anemone. I have never touched on in the wild, and after asking the staff a stupid of question of whether it stings or not (duh, likely not since it is in a touch tank), I put my finger out. No sting but the sea anemone grips your finger with the tip of its tentacles and it is like scotch tape. I hope it doesn't hurt the anemone when we pull our finger away. The water looked clean, but I got to wonder with all those unwashed fingers and hands going in the tank. The sea otter exhibit was cute if you could catch them when they swam. The aquarium was small enough that no one would get too tired walking through it. The wait for the elevators on a non-busy weekday detracted from the visit. There should be staff directing patrons to stairs if they prefer, then the visit would have been fine for me. On the bottom floor for the first elevator after the jelly fish, there was a photographer to take pictures before you can get to the elevator. Even if you don't want a picture, you have to wait for the elevator. It was not a busy time for the aquarium but the lines and wait for the elevators detracted from the experience. I didn't notice dirty or unwell fish, since that would have made me sad. Compared with the California Academy of Sciences aquarium on the lower level, this aquarium was quieter. The Academy of Sciences aquarium's wall size aquariums reflected the excited children's voice and loud adult voices to a point it that it was noise overload and combined with the dark, blue, low ceilings contributed to a claustrophobic effect.

This place looks like it was built for forest nymphs, magic creatures, and those who believes. Lots of interesting cool products, mix with things you may find from magic potion shops, and artsy workshops. We also learned that this organization is a writing center that serves under-resourced students. And this center is also part of a long-term redevelopment plan for this neighborhood to integrate low-income housing into market-rate housing to become one of San Francisco's most thoughtfully integrated neighborhoods/communities.

There are plenty of clean benches to rest on, a huge slide for the kids to ride down but only after climbing through the multi-layered rope structure, water fountains for hydration, swings for the younger crowd, and artificial turf and wooden steps for the leaping frogs. The whole park is secured with gate and at the time when we attended, there were security personnel at the entrance of the park. After a nice time in the city, this was a nice spot to exert any additional energy before the long ride home.
