Road trip adventure stop: I was driving on highway 88 just taking a leisurely drive. The large…read morewooden carved bears adorning the log cabin gift shop caught my eye. So off I went. There are actually 3 shops. (1) gift shop. I was anticipating a kitschy roadside gift shop. But I was pleasantly surprised They sell artisan women supported clothes, styles are bohemian meets California style (blouses $24+). Styles are modern with classics timeless touches. They sell artisan crafted jewelry. I adored several necklace and earring sets and they were price around the $27+. They also had handcrafted wooden walking sticks $19+, local crafted wind chimes, garden wall art, wooden crafted boxes, Black Bear Decor figurines...which I think are adorable, glass blown art trinket plate/borks (crafted in the USA starting at $8, soaps/lotions, candles, T-shirt's, mugs $10+, etc The interior was nicely decorated in a tasteful cabin style. The associate was great. She was welcoming, fun to talk with, and so darn knowledgable about the merchandise. (2) Garden Area. Get this...they also have a garden area. However it was closed when I got there. But I was able to look at the small entry garden between the buildings. It was compact and small. Just enough room to display some merchandise...local crafted garden art...wall hangings, wind chimes, and spinners. Also on display were several large custom hand crafted bear sculptures. (3) Furniture Store. The other shop specialized in beautiful high quality aspen and pine furniture( Bedroom furniture and living room pieces.). Quality material and handcrafted dovetailed work with artisan touches. They have small decor pieces also. You can pay 50% at time of purchase and the rest at delivery or pickup. Pieces are from an American factory and can be custom ordered.

An absolute must-visit on Washington Street in Sonora!…read more The Local Collective is exactly what its name represents: a place rooted in genuine care for people, families, and the local community. What stands out immediately is how kind and welcoming the owners are. This is truly a family-run shop, and you can feel the intention behind everything they do. They aren't just stocking shelves, they are thoughtfully sourcing items they would confidently choose for their own family and children. That level of care is rare. We bought a hoodie, hat, and t-shirt for my daughter's birthday, and she has been wearing them every single day since. The quality is incredible! I mean really. These are not cheaply made pieces. You can feel the difference right away in the fabric, the fit, and the durability. What makes this place even more special is the heart behind it. It's not just about business. It is about people. They genuinely care about the families who walk through their doors and he went out of his way to offer products that reflect that. They do not jack up the prices but the quality is better than an REI or Sax 5th Avenue. I know good quality and these items are made very well. We also purchased a tumbler for my children, bird house, two stuffed animals, and a few other little things and the quality and make are consistent throughout the store no matter what it is. Having seven children we know good quality items. Unfortunately, it is not an unfamiliar experience to see things break after purchasing. Not here! If you're looking for meaningful, high-quality items and want to support a family that truly puts other families first, this is a place you'll want to keep coming back to and buying from again and again.

This is probably my favorite local shop to get coffee. It tastes the same every time (yummy &…read moreconsistent) and I trust that I'm getting the decaf espresso that I ask for. I've also purchased many items from here like mugs, candles, t shirts, children's sensory toys, stickers, jewelry, sauces, and a Christmas advent calendar. I never really know what I'm going to find in Local Collective, but there's always something I want. I also love love loveee the atmosphere. It's so welcoming, the music's always on point, and the staff is very friendly. 10/10 my favorite shop in downtown Sonora.

The furniture includes new and reclaimed antique wood furniture and European and Colonial antiques. They have two locations. This shop is in Sutter Creek, CA, right on Main Street aka Old Route 49. They are located across from the City Hall. The shop is gorgeously curated and staged. Beautiful, quality pieces. Impressively large showroom. Pricing is not expensive but not cheap either. They even have home decor and textile tablecloths for purchase. Walking through here makes me want to redecorate my house. They have glass cabinets, sideboards, night stand, lamps, dining tables and chairs, antiques (over 100 years old), vintage pieces (not quite over 100 years old but creeping up there in age)... plus so much more. The dining and living pieces have a style vibe of modern farmhouse, California coastal, and English country manor. All stunning. I loved the new handcrafted cotton tablecloths. Beautiful quality, They were thick, soft cotton with vibrant colors in various patterns, some bold and others subtle. The antiques they had were unique, there were these two wooden spice boxes from the 1890s that intrigued me. One is Czech with tiny enamel knobs and name plates, the other seems to have German based words with metal knobs and plates. Plus there was an antique wood carved animal butler (circa 1900s) near the front door that caught my eye. It stands near 5 feet tall (with its base), brightly painted colors, adorable facial expression and outfit.

This place is great. We have bought many pieces from them. Great quality and beautiful designs…read more We bought a kitchen table set but wanted different chairs, they were happy to switch out what we wanted.
