Olivia not only answered me, she knows exactly what it is that youre envisioning when you try to describe it to her and she can carry out what youre looking for and goes above and beyond on it. Despite having other clients that day, she still was able to squeeze me in and did an absolutely beautiful job on my hair. There was another place that I had called that said they couldn't do that style on me without hair extensions, but Olivia did it super easily with zero need for that and found ways to make my super super long hair work with the style in the most creative and flattering ways. She also takes super small details into account that make a big difference, such as where intentionally creating contrast/differences in certain areas on purpose instead of one consistent/clean edge actually makes it look more flattering on the person, which strands of baby hairs to let out and whether they should be straight or wavy or curled, and what is more flattering for the person's face shape and facial features since it varies from person to person. Before the wedding, I had a trial with Kristie at her salon. I really liked the high quality products she used, and she was very careful and took her time to do a good job. She was collaborative, receiving feedback and trying different things. Her makeup style is natural and polished, highlighted with shimmer and feminine colors. She has an eye for what will look nice when photographed. After the trial, Kristie remained responsive, and I mostly communicated with her over text and email. Her pricing was competitive with or even more affordable than other HMUAs of similar style. We had a large group needing hair and makeup, but she assembled a team of experienced professionals and created a schedule to stagger everyone. My party's hair and makeup looked beautiful; everyone still looked very much like themselves, just enhanced. I helped plan a wedding, and the bride decided to hire Kristie to take care of the mothers and the bridesmaids. Kristie courteously agreed even though she did mention she handles mostly brides. The location was outside of Temple City, so there was a travel fee. Leading up to the wedding, there was one hiccup that caused me so much anxiety. All the girls were asking me what time to show up, but I literally didn't have an answer because Kristie didn't tell me. She was busy and didn't give me the schedule until the night before the wedding. We were scheduled to start at 7 AM because there were 6 of us, but only two people are getting worked on at a time. Some girls showed up at 6:50 AM super tired but didn't get worked on until 9 AM. I felt so bad. They could have slept in. The results though were good. The girls felt their requests were handled. One girl needed to use her own make up due to sensitive skin, and Kristie obliged. Kristie had one assistant (Amy?), and they even used the hair pieces that the bride provided. I've worked many weddings but was very taken aback at how glowy and seamless all of their hair and makeup was at this event.
