So...for those of you who aren't aware, Tong hires and organizes a team of makeup artists and hair stylists. She is a very nice person and tries her best to work with you before the event. However, sadly, she doesn't appear to be responsive when something doesn't go right. I am the sister of the bride and was the maid of honor. The schedule somehow got knocked way off and I was told that my hair couldn't be done until the very end! My sister needed to get over to the venue and so I could not go over in the shuttle with them and missed all the pictures with my sister and the bridesmaids as she was getting ready - the maid of honor! To add insult to injury my hair didn't turn out the way i would have liked and there was no time to fix it. And for the grand finale..one of Tong's beauty artists (@beautybyjill) even posted a lovely picture of my sister with her bridesmaids on Instagram and of course I was missing from the picture. Very insensitive. They apparently went with her to the venue while i was left behind with the stylist, hair still undone. I still have yet to hear back from Tong. I wrote a 2nd email since it's been three days but at this point it really doesn't matter. These pictures are lifelong memories of what happened and at the very least she should have been on top of this and/or responded promptly after it happened. In conclusion, at these prices, the "coordinator' should really be on top of the coordination and scheduling and not leave it to her hires to make sure that happens. *And yes my parents paid them with tip per the wedding planner's recommendation. To be fair though the wedding planner wasn't aware of the incident until I informed her after the event. read more

Had my wedding hair and make-up trial with Toni and didn't really know what to expect, since I had never had anyone do my make-up before. Toni was so sweet and made me feel so comfortable... she honestly made the hours I was there fly by! Toni did a killer job on my hair and make up for my wedding. I just love what she did and received countless compliments. I looked like myself, but a super glamorous, gorgeous version. I just got back my wedding photos and am so grateful for the stunning work that will always show up in my photos. She also did my mother's hair and make up for the big day and she looked absolutely beautiful. I had never seen my mother look so elegant and glam, she has never had her hair curled or styled in a different way before and Toni really encouraged her to step outside her comfort zone and try something special and festive, which really paid off. I found Toni on one of the wedding vendor websites and what drew me to reach out to her were the great Before and After shots on her website. Those really display her technique and talent. I just love how happy and beautiful all the brides and mothers of brides look on that page. Toni was extremely communicative and friendly with questions over email, so we set up a trial. I got to know Toni very well because we did three hair trials! I just wasn't sure what I wanted my hair to do so I tried a few things. Each time Toni was extremely gracious, patient, sweet, fun, caring, and professional. She even made me a bagel when my stomach started rumbling. The more time I spent with her, the more she felt like a friend. She is a very soothing person to spend time with and we would chat about all sorts of things. As for make up, she hit it out of the park the first trial. We settled easily on the exact style I wanted to do and it looked amazing. She has lots of options which are figured out together in your trial- airbrush or traditional, natural eyelashes or adhesives, various stylings. It was evident that my happiness with my wedding look was important to her-- she called me on the phone to discuss ideas after our initial trial when I realized I wanted something different than I initially asked for. She made me feel comfortable enough with exploring my own desires that I felt safe to do so, and in the end that was what I really needed to be THRILLED with the final look. Without her encouragement I might have settled for something that wasn't quite what I wanted, so I really thank her for that. That is the kind of person you want on your wedding team, on the most important day ever to achieve your dream look. On the day she was right on time and everything was as smooth as could be. We had already nailed down exactly what I wanted my hair to do, and she perfectly repeated her magic make up art exactly as it looked on our first trial. I felt so calm because I knew I was in good hands and with someone I enjoyed spending time with. It is so important on your wedding day to be surrounded by your trusted and favorite people--having my Bridesmaids and Mom and Toni in the suite with me that morning was just what I needed. She was one of the girls. My wedding was during a crazy Indian Summer so it was 100 degrees in Mid-October and my venue was all outdoors with no AC. We spent hours in the sun taking pictures before the ceremony, which I was freaked out about. Needlessly though--My make up did not need any touch ups!!!!! It looked amazing all night. My hair stayed as well! She finished my hair and make up at 11:30 am and I was at the venue until 1 am and didn't even use the touchup kit she sent with me. I didn't need to fix my hair or spray it-- the bobby pins held it all up expertly, even with very minimal initial use of hairspray because she knows I like my hair to look soft and natural without product. I loved everything about my experience with Toni! She had done the wedding hair and makeup of a few girls I knew, who just looked like the most beautiful versions of themselves, and I also felt like the most beautiful version of myself on the big day. I communicated with Toni via text and I ended up booking her last minute for my Chinese Tea Ceremony. I booked her without even doing a trial and only seeing a few of the photos she's had with other brides. She was very prompt and was so flexible to work with. I sent her a photo of different hairstyles I potentially liked as well as my dress. I didn't see myself while she was working on me but she did BOTH my hair and make up and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect look. I don't typically wear make up and I was beyond surprised and impressed with how my hair and make up looked. The make up had all the coverage but felt SOOO light. It didn't feel like I had any make up on me and my face just glowed! I felt so beautiful. The makeup held up throughout the day and even through all the food I was eating. By the end of the night the makeup still looked the way it did when it was first applied. The biggest thing for me... my nose crease did NOT crack at all!! Toni was great!! To be honest I was most nervous about who I chose for hair and makeup for my wedding because besides the dress, the hair & makeup is what shows forever in pictures! Toni did an above excellent job. I hate a late persian wedding around 8pm but me & my bridesmaids had to start getting ready around 10am. She showed up, did each of my 4 girl's hair and also mine. She did each one extremely well and made them all look beautiful!! Their hair lasted from 10am until 2am. It was that sturdy and well done. My hair lasted all day, held my extremely long and heavy veil throughout my pictures for hours, being taken out to rest, and then being put back in for my ceremony. It was done so well, I actually didn't need bobby pins for my veil. Then Toni very kindly came back at 8:30pm right when my ceremony was done to redo my hair once the veil came out. She worked as a one man team since my bridal party was small. She was efficient, on time, and extremely good at the hairstyles everyone asked for. I was looking for a hair and makeup artist in the LA/OC area who was familiar with doing Asian makeup because I have monolids. After researching various hair and makeup artists, I went with Toni, and I am glad I did. Toni has substantial experience doing Asian, including Korean, makeup and is familiar with Asian culture. I believe she is fluent in Chinese, and she speaks conversational Korean, which was great because she could communicate with my mom, which was especially helpful on the day of the wedding. Toni did a great job on my engagement shoot hair and makeup and even did my husband's eyebrow too. She was professional and had great time management skills. I loved getting to know her as a person. Toni and her assistant did a wonderful job on our (me, bridesmaid, my mom, and my mother-in-law) wedding day hair and makeup as well.
