I signed up for 4 weeks of lessons/1 lesson a week just to test this studio out. The instructor was amazing. I will give it to her. She can move, dance, and is extremely talented, however, I thought her way of teaching was not easy to follow. She did not know how to explain very well and showed frustration if you did not get a step correct. She did not have any enthusiasm. I had to use my camera phone to take a short clip of some advanced steps and moves because she just could not teach it. Also, I just didn't feel her passion ... it wouldn't hurt for her to put a smile on her face and pretend to like what was doing. All in all, it was an OK experience. I would definitely NOT go back for more lessons. There are tons of amazing dancers out there but what separates the EXCEPTIONAL dancers from the rest would be their ability to teach especially when they are operating a dance studio. I did not show up for my last salsa lesson because of bad road conditions due to snow and she never bothered to call and reschedule. It wasn't that easy to get in touch with her so I just never bothered to get my last lesson in. She didn't care because she had pocketed my money anyway.

PROS NONE CONS The owner Ms. Pernia is very sneaky in her business practice, and she smiles like she is friendly, but she is a fake just out to make a buck. Owner and some instructors are frequently disrespectful without provocation. They force you to make your purchase right there and do not allow you to shop around for items--mandatory items of dance are at 600% mark up! Teachers are awful and if you do get blessed with a good one she will not last! The studio is a sham: they undress right where you wait and sit, everyone can see it all, and the studio is so so small. They force you into these big buck $$$ outfits, shoes all for something ridiculous and in the end the order "never arrived on time". Ya, right. So the poor kids do a show with whatever they have and are crushed. She could care less. Stay away at all costs.

We've gone annually for the past 4 years, and it is so much fun every time. The scare actors engage you from the moment you step in line. It's one cohesive, spooky experience. Each year, a few things change. It's our reliable scare date. Highly recommend!

My friend and I got the instant access pass for an extra $25 and to be honest, it was worth every penny. With it being spooky month, we knew it would be jam packed. The line got general admission was ridiculous. The line to express access was better but still pretty long. Instant access allows you to skip the line and go straight to the entrance of the haunted house. The music was too loud to hear the instructions but I guess the gist is, don't run and don't touch the actors. I loved the design and themes of most rooms. Some left a little to be desired. I do wish there were a little more actors and better system of separating the parties. There were quite a few times we were able to see ahead so we knew what was coming. My favorite times were any moment where the actors interacted with the guests, like when we were chased. After the haunted house, you're able to buy merch and take photos. Although we didn't do the escape room, I liked that there was an option to do so this adding to the whole Halloween experience. All in all, I enjoyed my time at the House of Horror. While there could be some improvements with setup, I would still recommend it for others wanting to check out a local haunted house.

I was actually overwhelmed by the number of guitars and amps in stock. Literally thousands. What I thought would be a 10 min max, look around, buy a pack of strings (I always try and buy something at non chain music stores) turned into a 2 hour adventure. Rows and rows of guitars. I was at first intimidated and it took a bit to get my bearings as how the instruments were organized. LPs over here, Fenders over there. Did I mention there were "like 2 thousand guitars. Then I was shocked at how reasonable the prices were. After 45 minutes I had decided I was definitely getting a new guitar that day, then what to choose? Narrowed down between 2 that I wanted and matched what I could afford that day. The guy who rang me up, saw it was my first purchase there and knocked a few bucks off and threw in a new set of slinky strings. Look if you are looking for a posh music boutique store with fancy displays, this is not the place for you. But if you are a musician looking for quality gear that is priced right and huge inventory, this is the place. I am already planning my next visit with a bigger budget.

I recognize that the Magic Duel takes huge pride in 5 star reviews on Yelp, which I deeply respect. But I did wish that we had seen the show in a different venue. I am no stage expert, but lights and sound do matter a lot in delivery of a magic show for a skeptic like me, going because the significant other loves magic shows. With better lighting, things would have been more "magical" (thinking bottles.) I was also surprised that a bubble artist, as good as she was in her profession, was considered a magician. After some quick research, you will end up at Magic Duel in this genre, so please go to Dupont or Georgetown.
