Malecon de la Paz is actually a very long walkway made up of stone tiles along the waterfront of the city of La Paz. We were told that it is several miles long and is the longest esplanade in this part of Mexico. This is the best area to walk along or drive through if you are visiting La Paz. You will find a lot of nice sculptures, piers, and stores and restaurants along this palm tree lined waterfront. We found the city of La Paz to be fairly boring. Even the Malecon was fairly empty. But at least it offers nice picturesque views. Though there are better beaches outside the city, a beach lines this waterfront as well.

Wonderful place to spend a day whether you have a bike or you prefer to stroll. Lots of interesting statues and photo opportunities. The latest is the multi-colored La Paz sign (like you fin in so many Mexican coastal cities...it is not without a little controversy since the aluminum sides ware easily ented and allegedly the local firm who built it werent paid in full. My favourite spot id the fruit cocktail restaurants at the east en of the main part of the malecon...love my coco loco. The public washrooms are hidden behind the office building (north side) of the small offices at the foot of the ferry pier. The Sears store (just a few blocks off the malecon) has very clean washrooms in the Toy section on the second floor, Important to know since some places (BK) have signs saying they charge for non customers

I was at the Malecon de la Paz in La Paz, Baja California Sur Mexico on 5/19/2017. It was my 1st time there. Malecon is the stone-built embankment or esplanade along the waterfront. I've been to many in several different countries and the one in La Paz is one of the most beautiful. Plus, I took photos.

This is a small safe town that is worthy of your visit. The people are friendly, the food is great,…read moreand the town is filled with many artists and art galleries. The town is home to the Hotel California which may or may not be the same one referenced in the Eagles song? Apparently, this place existed way before the Eagles song. But they claim that it's not the one in the song? Anyhow, there are many nearby beach towns that are also nice. Apparently, there are many well off folks that visit because most shops don't have any printed price labeling on their selling items. Which is a minor thing that I was not fond of because everything was a negotiation. Having visited many parts of Mexico I am fairly aware of the value of many of the selling items. Therefore, I knew that my beginning negotiating price was going to start on the high end when I catch the seller scanning my designer sunglasses, shoes, and clothes?!? It's okay, because I quickly made them aware of the value and origins of the products they were trying to get me to buy. Being a small town, I only dedicated two days here which I believe an adequate amount of time.

What a beautiful underdeveloped town located on the Baja of California on the east coast. It's…read moreabout a forty five minute drive from Cabo San Lucas. We came for the day to check it out with a guide. The whole way here the landscape is high desert but once you get near the town it opens up like an oasis in the desert. It's on the Tropic of Cancer which affords a complete tropical climate. It is so strange and fabulous. They can grow everything here from massive cacti to bananas. The town is small, artsy and pretty touristy. The surrounding areas are just waiting for the big resorts to buy and move in and face the massive Pacific Ocean with the most incredible unspoiled beaches and phenomenal pounding waves. It is a sight to behold. It will be great for the local economy but on the other hand sad to think of all the development heading their way.
