For those that don't know, Malecon means boardwalk in Spanish. And this Malecon sits along the coast of the fine city of Mazatlan. I came to Mazatlan with an old friend of mine, once upon a time. It was her friend's birthday, and she insisted that I come here with her. So me being the adventurous one, happily came along. The boardwalk runs from the Zona Dorada (the nightclub/party region of Mazatlan) on the northern end, all the way to where Casa Lucila sits on the southern end. All along the boardwalk, locals and tourist come to enjoy the coast. There are plenty of shops and eateries lining this place. The weekend get a lot of foot traffic, but it is still manageable. The climate is humid, which caught me by surprise. Despite it being Mexico's Pacific coast, it is far south enough to have tropical weather. I was sweating quite a bit walking along this boardwalk, and the humidity didn't help much. This is the only negative to this place. However, it didn't take away from the great adventure I had in Sinaloa that time. The boardwalk, much like the city of Mazatlan, is safe. Of course, this is true as long as you don't go looking for trouble. I've had great times in this place, and I will have many more, as my girlfriend and I plan to come here in the near future. read more

I wish i got to see a little bit more of it, but our cab driver dropped us off at a not-so-impressive spot. But I did get to see a little bit, and the little that I did see was not so bad. The shoreline was occupied by plenty of locals enjoying the beach on a hot and humid day. We did see a MAZATLAN sign (which was a challenge getting to given it was across the street and with traffic breezin' through... wasn't worth crossing it.) I even saw a few elderly locals playing cards on a hut by the shore. There were shops lined up as well but wasn't enticing enough for us to check out. If we weren't so limited with time (we were only allocated a few hours by the cruise ship) I would have liked to explored it a little more. But that's not so much a bad thing - given the chance, I would return and take the time to see the whole thing. I have read and am hearing good things. Maybe one day... read more

Totally worth seeing, morning, midday, night. Any time of day this is beautiful to see. Hearing the waves crash and seeing the sun rise or fall. It is full of history and enriched in culture. It is my favorite part of MZT. read more

Beautiful Malecon (Boardwalk) in Mazatlán. This ocean front walkways is one of the longest in the world. Many tourists are enjoyed the comfortable atmospheres with many restaurants and bars you can relax. Don't forget to bring your cameras. There are many visitor points in front of the Pacific Ocean you'll love to have it in your pictures! Many people are set down in one of the restaurant or bar in front of the beautiful beach. A nice 21 km long scenic walkway located along the Pacific ocean in Mazatlan. This walkway offers expansive views of the Pacific ocean with artwork/statues scattered along the route. There are numerous restaurants and shops located adjacent to the walkway offering ample opportunities for rest and refreshing yourself from the hot sun. This walkway/malecon is a step down from a similar one located in Puerto Valarta in that the restaurants and shops are not quite as nice. But having said that, it is definitely a worthwhile walk especially if you are into exercise and trying to keep in shape. Highly recommend. Four stars read more

Every time I come there is an improvement made to the malecón and it just keeps getting better . There are now bike lanes that run through most of the zona dorada and all the way to Olas Altas . We rented bikes for about 70 pesos the hour and they were cruisers that allowed us to traverse the whole boardwalk and enjoy the sun . Whether you like to jog, run, walk, bike, eat , drink or just sit down to enjoy some vitamin D and a nice view this is the most amazing place to do so. We spend every morning exercising along it and it is always active day or night . ..... Mi familia y yo venimos seguido a Mazatlán y somos mega fans de caminar , correr, sentarnos y disfrutar del malecón pero ahora lo mejor es que también pudimos disfrutarlo en bicicleta ya que añadieron carriles para los ciclistas y hasta ves a gente patinando - en verdad es uno de los lugares que cada año se pone mejor . La renta de bicis te sale aproximadamente 70 pesos l hora pero si lo tuyo es otra actividad igual la puedes hacer y con la mejor vista . At the north end is the Zona Dorado, gold coast which caters to tourists, lots of hotels, stores, and restaurants. When we were there after an International trade show for travel agents. " Great Sites To See During Mardi Gras " We visited the Malecon in Mazatlan Mexico the day after the Mardi Gras celebration and saw some great huge paper mache statues that celebrated the Mardi Gras history. The Malecon is being resurfaced with brand new brick stones and is great to walk or take a cab to view the many statues along the waterfront. The view of the water is breathtaking. Along the way there are many Hotels, Restaurants, and Shops that you can visit along with seeing many Mexican culture statues. The Boardwalk is very long and its very pretty. You cannot go to Mazatlan without seeing the Malecon, and don't forget to see those Cliff Divers ! read more

I give it 5 stars, because it is clean, safe, scenic, quiet, and lovely. It goes forever. The scenery changes dramatically. My first time to Mazatlan. A lot of people love it here. We are at the Freeman Hotel. It can be noisy. The locals all hang out in this area. I think its very interesting and very different then Los Cabos and P.V. for sure. Lots of great places to eat. Walked about half of this with my wife during sunset on our 25th wedding anniversary before catching a Pulmonia (Gas powered golf cart taxi) to our favorite restaurant in Mazatlan. This is one of the longest and most beautiful boardwalks in the world. it's a great walk and the view is amazing. The Monuments along the way are beautiful and displays a lot of history. Since it's wide and flat it allows for many bikers, walkers, runners, rollerbladers etc. plenty of room to maneuver There are many small shops and vendors along the way to stop at for a cold one or snack. Oh yeah, then there's the beach just below the boardwalk. read more
