I had a great experience with Malfettone Electric. I found them on yelp. Jason was so easy to work with and he was professional and very knowledgeable. I had recessed lighting installed in my condo. When we discovered that I bought the wrong lights on the morning they were going to install, he came with me to Home Depot to find the right ones! He came to give me an estimate right away and spent a good 40 min here looking at the space giving me ideas. Pricing is very fair. He had 4 guys in his crew and they were amazingly efficient and clean. They were very professional and when they left, you couldn't tell they were there all day! I went with Jason because I liked his professionalism and quick response to my request for an estimate. He was always responsive to my questions during the lead up to the install day. Really happy with Malfettone. I found them via review sites (yelp and google). I needed some minor electrical problems that were picked up during a house inspection in order to proceed with the sale. They read through the report and were over in less than 24 hours where there to fix it! Amazing. When I looked at their portfolio of work, it seemed like they do much more larger projects. So I was a bit worried they would not prioritize my piddly little issues like rewiring outlets, but they did! Also, I read through the negative reviews and I didn't experience their complaints (with was lack of communication). They always answered a call or returned it within a half hour. We initially called Mike to inspect a fuse box/panel that looked questionable while we were negotiating the purchase of our new condo. Mike came out promptly and inspected the box (later gave us a written estimate for us to use during the sale). We also wanted to get an estimate on some other work to install a new outlet in the kitchen, a total of 11 recessed lights throughout the condo, new fan in the bathroom, and new switches. I later called 2 other places to price compare and his estimate was much lower. Mike delivered everything that we discussed, on time, at the price we discussed and even came back to rewire some switches in the bathroom that we later changed our minds on (no charge). The work was clean, professional and looks great. Where I will say that he went above and beyond was the drywall. All the holes he made to put in the new fuse box, run new wires for the lighting and outlet in the kitchen, were completely repaired. I hired them to install recessed LED lighting throughout my rental apartment. Overall the work was satisfactory, but some communication problems soured me somewhat. Care and consideration was lacking at the end of the job - I had issues with the LEDs flickering and not dimming below 50% and the switches not sitting flush. Once they were paid they did not respond, and i had to figure out how to program the LEDs to dim correctly myself. I also had to hire another electrician to properly attach 2 dangling LEDs...again, because they were unresponsive. Literally would have taken them 5 min. Once the job started I felt rushed and like just a number to them. Will be going elsewhere on my next electrician hire. read more

No clue how this guy got all 5-star reviews until now. I own an apartment in NYC, but I live in California so it can be a challenge when certain problems arise for my tenant. I have what appears to be an electrical issue (from what I can deduce from across the country), and we called Mike Malfettone not once but twice and also paged him.
