The AC was easy to use and kept us quite comfortable in our first floor room. (The outside temps were in the 90's. The Cattleman's Steakhouse next door offered 10% off with a room at the hotel so we walked over and enjoyed a delicious meal. The hotel offered a very nice breakfast buffet in the morning. Nice selection of breakfast offerings: eggs, bacon, biscuits, gravy, waffles, yogurt, fruit, juice, coffee, tea, cocoa, cereals. I've probably been there 10 times over the past 20 years. Prior to Echo Bluff being built, we stayed at various places in Eminence (Rivers Edge, various B&Bs). The accommodations were always Spartan and it was almost impossible to find any restaurants that offered anything more than "Fried something" or hamburgers. All that has changed with Echo Bluff State Park Lodge. The Lodge has accommodations that are orders of magnitude better than what can be found in Eminence and the on-site restaurant has really good food and a menu that is large enough that one could eat several different meals at the Lodge without having to repeat and entree. There is a beautiful creek behind the lodge (about 150 yards) that you can put your lawn chair in, sit back and enjoy the cool stream water and the absolutely gorgeous view of the Bluff.

She said others had been stealing towels in the past, this was our first stay and it was only my girlfriend and I. We woke up in the morning to no hot water, not even warm. We asked another room and they had the same issue. When going to the main office, it was locked and nobody was around. This is a cheap stay but lacks any type of amenities you may be looking for, such as hit water and clean linens. Also, there were 3 cars broken down and being worked on in the parking lot.

They do allow pets to stay for an extra $10.00 a day but if you bring your dogs they will get fleas like mine did and you ll have to stop and dip them before taking them home again. The girl running the place said the owner is sick and never there and I can why. She was very friendly and helpful but that did not make up for us coming into town on a weekend and being stuck in a nasty place with no chance of getting another room some place else. I was also confronted by someone who had already spent on night there while in the parking lot and she said they had mice under their beds and that while they were across the street at the gas station someone had broke out their passenger side window while their suv was parked in the hotel lot. They were already in the second room they had been given at The Colonial Inn and they were leaving after driving 7 hrs for their vacation that was ruined by their experience with the hotel. I will be looking for a different hotel to stay at with my pet s the next time and I wouldn't recommend that anyone stay at this place. It should be condemned.

I noticed immediately that the bedspreads were dirty and turned mine down, so I wouldn't touch it. When my daughter turned hers down, she noticed the sheets were stained and/or dirty. She was almost positive the stains were blood. She called the staff, and the girl working the desk came down the hall barefooted. She brought my daughter sheets as if she should change the stained and/or dirty linens herself. This place needs to invest in some new linens that aren't stained. The chest in my room was missing a handle. In my daughter and grandson's room, either the TV didn't actually work or we couldn't find the correct remote to use with it. We unhappily spent the night. The next morning, I would've made coffee in my coffee pot that was included in the room, but it was dirty. It had not been washed. When I checked out, I told the woman at the desk how dirty and defective the room was. She asked if I wanted to talk to housekeeping. I said this was a management problem. She said that there was a new manager, and she was trying to clean things up. I said that they hadn't been. She gave me a card with the manager's name on it and told me to call back on Monday. I could reach her then. I did that. The manager told me I'd been offered a refund. Really? By whom? That was not true at all. Then she said that we could've left that night, and then we could have gotten a refund. This was supposed to be customer service? And where would we have gone? But since we spent the night, we couldn't get a refund. She also said there were stains on the linens, but they weren't bad. To say that the standards are very low at this motel is an understatement. I noticed that there haven't been any reviews on Yelp of this motel in three years. Maybe it was better in the past. I don't know. But in this town on the beautiful Spring River, this seemed the antithesis of any natural beauty. Housekeeping was bad. Management was bad. Where is the owner? We were offered no good customer service, and the manager was put out that I wasn't happy with our bad experience or happy with her bad customer service. She was irritated that I was critical. She had no interest in what I had to say at all. It was terrible all the way around. Except the shower. There was great water pressure.
