First of all: Courtney is an incredible person. Secondly, her empathy, intuition, and knowledge…read morehave been life-changing for our special needs blue heeler, Clementine. Clem is half blind & deaf, though this isn't the reason we initially contacted Courtney. At the time, we had adopted a beautiful boxer-pit mix, Juniper, to have as Clementine's companion. We adopted her from the Washington County animal shelter, and she was in bad condition, having 6-10 months of trauma in the first part of her life (we think she was bait in dog fights). She had to have emergency surgery, and after a few months, we decided we needed some professional help due to Juniper's reactivity with Clementine. With Courtney's guidance, we learned that our 2 dogs do not speak the same language. Courtney was initially willing to help us and our dogs learn and respect one another's languages. Over time, though, Juniper ended up attacking Clementine, and Courtney was with us every step of the way. She truly cares about the people and animals she works with. She immediately came up with a plan so we could figure out re-homing Juniper while keeping the two dogs separated in our home. She even searched for foster homes with us, and worked with the foster parent Juniper lived with for about a month until we found her forever home. Courtney is the best dog trainer I have ever met. Her compassion goes above and beyond, and her expertise is so valuable. I learn something new at every session! When I refer to her in conversation, I call her our "Dog Therapist", because she truly is. She can sense things about our dog that we don't even sense, in the smallest amount of time. If you're on the fence about hiring or consulting with Courtney, jump off and call her immediately! ‍‍

He very timely to e-mails and was able to set up an appointment within a couple days to meet my apt area's dog park. Throughout the session he was very cordial and was able to point out new tactics to decrease my furry friend's frustration. Following the session, Elias sent me an e-mail with little reminders and cues directly for my doggo. It has been 3 weeks since we met with Elias and people in my dog park/apt complex have all noticed an immense difference in how friendly my puppo plays - she realizes there is more to life than just fetch, and she can play with other dogs in a friendly manner. Elias remains in contact with me through texts to ensure my full understanding of the training. At the end of the day, Elias gives you all of the tools you need in order to work on whatever issues you are having, but it is up to the human to diligently implement all of the information. I would definitely recommend Elias and his training to other people and may use him again in the future as he is not only very helpful, but reasonably priced compared to other dog behaviorists that I looked to hire.

I rescued my girl, Ruby, in December 2018. Ruby had been adopted once and returned to the shelter…read morebefore she picked me out of the people who were looking at her. We got off to a pretty good start at home. House training was quick and basic "sit" and "down" commands came fairly easily to her. Ruby is a Lab/Pit mix and I mistakenly diagnosed as aggression what actually was resource guarding. I've had dogs constantly for over 30 years and have done pretty well with basic training on my own, but this whole resource guarding thing was new to me and I knew that I needed real help by someone who understood Miss Ruby. I am so thankful that I met Scottie Greene. His approach of training the trainer, as well as the dog, was exactly what Ruby and I both needed. I used to have to keep her on a 30 foot lead rope when we went outdoors at home, to give her room to have a little bit of freedom to play. Now, she gets to go outside and run full speed ahead with no lead and without the e-collar. She loves being able to run freely and I love seeing her happy. I can now take Ruby anywhere with me and she behaves like a perfect dog. (I may be a bit biased, but I'm convinced that she IS a perfect dog!) Ruby's last training class was at a restaurant with Scottie and his wife Karrie and 2 of my best friends. With the exception of our group and the waiter, I don't think that anyone else in the restaurant even knew that Ruby was under the table. We have since gone on to get Ruby certified as an AKC CGC and Urban CGC dog. I can't say enough good things about Scottie, Karrie, and Sandra. They are all top notch trainers. If you want to have a dog that is truly your best friend, that TRUSTS YOU to be the leader of the pack, Rocky Top K9 can give that to you.

When we started in January, consistency looked doable, though still challenging. One of my dogs is a male reactive dog who we adopted when he was one and had been kept in a backyard until then without socialization with other people or animals. He wasn't even leash trained. We got the second one as a puppy to be his companion and help socialize him. I had never had a dog in my entire life until these two, and I thought I would have more help than I actually did for the first few years I had them (before my current marriage). When I was financially able, I contacted Sandra, who was clearly passionate about animals. I ended up paying for 12 visits because we felt like Tucker needed a lot of work. Sandra had the best treats and helped us manage Tucker's behavior with better collars, leashes, and supplements. We had to cancel and reschedule due to my own circumstances, Sandra's, and, of course, the weather. That put us into the busiest time of the school semester, both as a teacher and with our five kids' dance, sports, and band schedules, including practices, lessons, dress rehearsals, concerts, competitions, school trips, and other events. With two adults, both working two jobs, consistency was nearly impossible. In hindsight, six lessons would have been more manageable for my family, but Sandra has worked with me in other ways to support our progress. I know that I can reach out to her anytime with questions. She truly cares about and wants the best for the dogs she works with.
