We hired Victorian Fence to install a new fence, and unfortunately, our experience has been…read moreextremely disappointing. First, I want to say that the workers themselves were hardworking. My frustration is not with them, it's with how the company managed the project. They started the installation on May 19 with only two workers, even though it was clear that two people could not complete an entire backyard in one day. Two additional workers didn't arrive until around 4:00 PM. The most important part of the installation, the gates, wasn't installed until around 8:00 PM, when it was completely dark outside. I don't understand how anyone could properly install gates under those conditions. Unfortunately, the rushed installation has led to ongoing problems. One of our gates was installed incorrectly and now will not shut or latch unless someone pushes it from the back every single time. As of today, July 14, it barely shuts at all. The metal hardware has become damaged, and because the gate is misaligned, the latch repeatedly strikes the white vinyl fence, causing damage to the fence itself. The gate posts also move far more than they should whenever the gate is opened or closed. The lack of follow-through has been even more frustrating than the installation itself. On May 21, just two days after the installation, Joe came to inspect the fence. He acknowledged there were multiple issues, made notes of everything that needed to be corrected, and left with the understanding that the repairs would be scheduled. We never heard back. On June 1, I contacted Joe again because one of the gates had stopped shutting properly and I was concerned about how much the gate posts were moving. I received no response. After following up again on June 9, Joe returned on June 11 for a second inspection. Once again, he reviewed the issues, said everything would be taken care of, and told me he would send me a follow-up email. That email never came, and no repairs were ever scheduled. It is now July 14. Despite multiple phone calls, text messages, two site visits, and repeated promises that the issues would be fixed, nothing has been done. There are still chunks of concrete and construction debris left in my backyard from the installation, and we're left with a gate that no longer functions properly. For a company that prides itself on its reputation and quality of work, this level of workmanship, communication, and customer service is incredibly disappointing. We paid in full expecting a professionally completed project, not months of unanswered follow-ups and unresolved issues. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Victorian Fence.

This company installed a 6' vinyl fence at my home 2 years ago and all was fine...last winter…read moreduring a wind storm, 2 of the vertical posts started to lean back...and were about to fall. I contacted the company and they responded and sent a repair man out...all he did was shove concrete and stones down the hole while pushing the post back into a vertical position and I was charged $200 for the response and supposed repair...this year once again, because the repair was not done properly, during a windstorm 2 sections of the fence fell and the post that had the concrete/stones pushed down to support it fell and broke...now they want $750 to repair the fence...all it needs is one vertical post all other sections are still good and not broken...I asked if they would reduce the cost to $500 and they refused, saying the $750 was a firm price. I'm sorry, but if they would have repaired the fence properly in the first place by resetting the concrete and post, this wouldn't have happened. I would not recommend them again for any type of repair. I'm still open to hearing from them to work out a repair but not for $750. And I'm willing to update my review if this happens. VP Patchogue

I called Marty and his team to come clear some brush and a few medium-sized trees on my property…read more Needless to say we were thrilled with the team's effort and efficiency and were able to reclaim a large portion of our yard back after years of overgrowth. While on the jobsite, Marty and his foreman pointed out I had a couple large, unsafe tree on my property (hollow) and encouraged me to take them down for the safety of my house. This would have been completely unnoticed as I do not have a trained eye for these types of things. Thankfully Marty and his team came back and removed the trees (please see photos). I can't say enough about how pleased we are with the outcome, and wonder what would have happened if Marty and his team had not pointed this out to me in time. We found his pricing to be incredible, the team left my property spotless and did an overall amazing job. He really does treat your property like it is his own. I can't recommend them enough. The guys did a great job taking down and removing the old fence. The new PVC fence that was put up looks great and the job was very neat and clean. They also made sure that the newly installed fence was washed and cleaned before leaving. We gave them a tip since they really deserved it. I would definitely recommend to anyone to use them in the future.
