Quaint little place. Walls are beautified with murals of Italy and cobbled walls. Floors impeccably clean and gave a genuine rustic vibe. Dinner started off with delicious garlic bread and dipping sauce. Table has all the condiment trimmings of red pepper, salt, pepper, Parmesan, and garlic powder for the diehard vampire hunters. Pretty pleased to have an option for a ridiculous amount of garlic. Breaking open the bread and seeing the steam unfolding into swirls past the crisp outer layer was a gorgeous sight. Dipping sauce was good as I added a bit of the added table condiments. Dinner came with a dinner salad. I ordered crab and shrimp ravioli which was dressed with carrots and peas. I added an obscene amount of garlic and capers for an added flavor composite. The raviolis were absolutely delicious. By far some of the best ravioli that I have had in the recent years. This was my first to experience crab and shrimp stuffed ravioli and they did not disappoint. The added capers really kicked it up. Dessert was going to go the norm of tiramisu but the Dubai Chocolate cake caught my eye and salivated my mouth. The pistachio and Katafi pastry filling was superb. The slight katafi pastry crunches against the creaminess of the pistachio was texture heaven! Highly recommend this dessert! Overall my meal was wonderfully done. From start to finish, I was given great service and more importantly a full belly with an Italian ambiance. As a solo diner, it was a pleasure to visit here and enjoy a delicious meal! It was our first time eating there, the ambience isn't great but As soon as you walk in you can smell the delicious food. Great food and lunch portions are very big! Went there after the lunch hour and had no problems with the service. I thought going after lunch might make them a bit slow but no, they sat us down immediately and asked what we wanted to drink. The waiter was very professional and fast. He had no trouble answering questions about the menu. The place is nice with various murals on the walls. What surprise me most about my chicken dish was the marinara sauce wasn't bitter like some of the sauces are. Is it perhaps because it's homemade that it's so good? The bread they put on the table are big rolls, and very savory. This is the second time I come around and again the service was great, never a bad atmosphere of experience. Bread was fluffy and soft cooked all the way through with amazing poof, topped with Parmesan not super over powering just right. Lasagna was ordinary in the best way, nothing out of the norm of what you would expect from a traditional dish. Decided to get something different with the Chicken and Sausage - comes with mushrooms and cooked in a white wine sauce etc; it was good and not overpowering with flavor. First timer trying the restaurant. It's BYOB and always busy so my husband and I wanted to see what it was all about. I got the chicken fettuccine Alfredo, and my husband got the Pasta Trio. Reasonably priced. They serve bread at the beginning which is bomb. Literally so good! The rest of the food wasn't really good though. Got a salad with our pasta, but there was way too much dressing and it was all lukewarm, like it has just been sitting out. It did take a very long time to get our food, but everything was very fresh and hot, so I didn't mind the wait. We went about 15 minutes with empty water cups until I finally flagged down our waiter and asked for more water. That's when he told us that the water had been shut off and it would be another 10-15 minutes before it was back on. We offered us something else. We got sprites. He ended up giving us bottles of water also. Once we finished eating, we waited about another 10 minutes before I had to find the waiter and ask for some boxes for my husband, and the check. He brought the boxes, but not the check, and never came back. We ended up going to the counter to pay, and as they were ringing us up, I noticed that we were charged for the sprites. I asked if that was necessary, since the only reason they were brought was due to the water being shut off to the restaurant. They were super understanding and took the sprites off. All in all, it wasn't the worst, but I don't think we'll be back. Cute place though! read more

I loved going here until recently the service was kind of awful. usually it's a sit yourself down kinda place, so I sat waiting for my mother. 20 mins go by and my mom gets here and the waitress was just passing us by like nothing until my mom spoke up and then the waitress said "sorry thought you were takeout " but didn't think to ask?! we ordered it took about 30 mins. and when we see our order go to another table we look over and the waitress brings my mom her pasta but I noticed mine had gone to the table. I told her oh that was my pasta! and she said that those people where here first and that it was hers... THEN the ladies pasta came out and the waitress brings the other customer her pasta takes the plate she first gave her and gave it to me. what if this other customer ate from it or something.. and I just lost my appetite after that. Ordered 2 ziti bolognese, 1 fettucine alfredo and one order of breadsticks as a to-go order. I received 2 ziti with meat sauce (which is $2 cheaper per plate), no bolognese to be found... and the food portion for the fettucine alfredo was terrible. the only redeeming factor is that the breadsticks were fresh. Normally this is a decent spot but today was not good. The food took 45 minutes to come out and for the majority of the order to be wrong was just disappointing. I have been getting pizza here for 3 years. Service and quality have steadily gone down. Tonight was the worst. I ordered a chicken alfredo pizza with extra toppings. It had no chicken and no alfredo. It was a cheese pizza. Even worse, I was treated like crap when I went to pick it up. I'm not one to complete surveys but the way this situation was handled was not right. I ordered two lasagnas, one a kid's lasagna and the other regular through Grubhub. I received two kids lasagnas. I am a regular customer and only order through pickup since the lasagna portion size is a lot bigger than the dine in and I do love their lasagna. Flavor is delicious! When I called to let them know that it was incorrect I was transferred to a lady (I forgot her name) who is the manager. Instead of resolving the issue properly, she continuously argued that the cook had packaged the items properly as ordered and if anything was wrong it was the drivers fault since I ordered it through Grubhub. Friends took my husband and me for lunch here. This is the best Italian food I have ever had! The tomato sauce is thick, sticks to pasta, very flavorful with excellent balance of herbs and spices. The service is very good, friendly, knowledgeable. The bread was excellent, too. Between the four of us we ordered Spaghetti with meat sauce, cheese ravioli, and 2 lasagnas. 3 days ago we placed an order for 12 pizza pies for an event we had today. We were told it would be ready at 11:45. I went early to make sure they would be making it on time. I was totally amazed that 10 pies were ready at exactly at 11:45 and the last 2 came out 2 minutes later. They were not made earlier and sitting under a heat lamp!!! Now about the extra large pizzas. We usually come here for the pizza but decided to be adventurous and try out the pasta dishes. My boyfriend had ordered Spaghetti and meatballs. The spaghetti was overcooked. When the waitress came by to check on us he requested that he get a new dish since the spaghetti was overcooked and not very good. She said no problem and he ended up ordering a meatball sub. When I walked up to the register to pay my waitress immedietly said "By the way the owner said I'm going to have to charge you for at least a kids spaghetti dinner since he ate a meatball and some of the spaghetti." I told her he barely touched it and the spaghetti was overcooked. I wasnt about to pay for badly prepared food let alone food he didnt even eat. she then said, "The owner told me to keep the plate just in case there were any problems." She brough me the plate. (see attatched photo) It was a full plate of spaghetti with a meatball missing. I told her exactly that. I told her again it was not okay to charge me for something he barely touched. She went on to try and argue with me telling me they dont give away free food and that they are not a franchise but a family owned business. She took the plate back. She comes back saying that the cook said not to charge me for it so she wasn't. Said it didnt matter anyway and that the price of the dish was going to come out of her paycheck. I asked if she was serious and she said yes. This is NOT how you treat your employee's. This is NOT how you treat your customers. If the owner has to account for a single meatball and a few bites of over cooked spaghetti Im guessing this place has alot worse problems. You wont catch me eating here again. read more

Almost every city, town, or suburb has a Chinese restaurant with a huge menu and that excels at takeout. While I don't know where that Chinese restaurant is in Deer Park, I was fortunate enough to find the Italian equivalent. Mama Mia's has a huge menu with a variety of pizza and pasta options on it. While they do a huge takeout business, we dined in on Saturday night and came away happy. We didn't know whether it was counter service or table service at first due to the cash register and menu board that you see when you come in. We were encouraged to sit anywhere. Our server was friendly, informative, and provided excellent service. We were first served their garlic knots, which while excellent in themselves, were even better with the accompanying olive oil and herbs. We then each tried a slice of cheese pizza as an appetizer. The pizza was close to NY style, but with a little more cheese and a little less sauce. My dinner of baked ziti was right on point and the baked flavor was not overwhelmed by cheese. In fact, the layer of mozzarella on top was the only cheese meaning that the meat sauce and pasta stood for themselves. My dining companion loved her chicken Marsala which had huge mushroom slices and an exceptionally rich sauce that could easily be served at a more upscale Italian option. If you're looking for great Italian food in an unpretentious atmosphere, you need to visit Mama Mia's. It's on my go-to list for the Houston area. read more

And I was not disappointed, had the garlic cheese bread as an appetizer and bam this amazing looking mouth watering garlic cheese bread was at my table! I'm thinking food coma today!!! We went to dinner tonight at Mama Mia's. My daughter ordered the fettuccine with broccoli and when they brought her plate to her it had a pretty size-able roach mixed in her food. We notified the waitress who took the plate and apologized. They made her another plate and the waitress offered my daughter a free dessert. The owner never came to speak to us regarding the situation. I feel a conversation with the owner acknowledging the issue would have been nice. We will not be going back there ever again. I would have included a picture but we were shocked in the moment and the waitress took the plate before I could of even thought about taking a picture. They took off the one veal parmesan which we replaced with a pizza but the other one they would not take offbecause my granddaughter ate the spaghetti that came with it. So I said well can't you just charge me for a kids spaghetti meal then. The boss said no. I don't normally like to write negative reviews . We usually love this place but don't think this was right.
