I've gotten the lunch special from here once when they first opened. I love a good pho but this place has lots more that I'm dying to try now. I took my oldest for a lunch date when she got back from her first year at college. She got the dumplings. It's an appetizer but she's little and ate them as her entrée. She also got the Meadow drink that's a strawberry juice and both she and I loved it. You can tell it was made with fresh strawberries. I got the lunch special. It comes with a drink, appetizer, and entree. I got the Thai tea, wings, and the Pho Tai. I really wanted to try the pork breaded in panco on rice with a fried egg but I've been sick with a cold so i opted for Pho because it's comfy. Everything was SO good. My tea was strong but that's how i like it and the wings were sweet and crunchy. Definitely a new favorite. The pho was pho'n as well. Our server was so sweet and checked in several times to make sure we didn't need anything and was very nice when we asked for a to go box. I love how the inside is decorated and it's kind of dark so it makes it cozy. We didn't feel rushed to leave. Definitely will be going back. I've only had their vegetarian pho & a taste of the chicken pho broth. The pho add-ons are excellent, however the pho broth is much to be desired. It is just broth, no spices, no flavoring in it, very bland. I expect my pho to have the herbal flavored broth. It's not that hard to do, just pop a pho seasoning bag in the broth when it's cooking. Service is excellent & so is the ambiance. read more

This place has been on my list to try. It's a little bit of a drive so we decided to get here early on Sunday, arrived at 6:20 PM. We noted that the parking lot was almost full, only three spaces left. It appears that the other businesses were closed, only this restaurant was open. We walked in to find 6 other people waiting. We asked if there was a waitlist and the other customers told us that they had not been greeted since they've been waiting there 10 mins. We drove all this way so decided to wait. The restaurant was full and appeared to be short staffed. Even after tables left, the tables were dirty and not cleaned for a good 10 minutes. There was someone at the register but he was only helping with to go orders and didn't acknowledge any of the guests. It took us 20 minutes for someone to greet us, advised that they would get a table cleaned in 5 minutes to get us seated. After we got seated, we waited another 10 mins for someone to come take our order. I like to pace food, appetizer first so I have time to eat my entree. I ordered the Vermicelli Mountain and the summer jasmine tea. The server came back 5 mins later and we ordered our entree. The entrees arrived 20 mins after ordering, no sign of the Vermicelli Mountain. My chicken thighs rice was missing the fried egg that I had ordered extra. After bringing the egg, I was advised the appetizer would be out soon. No sauce was served with my rice, waited for the appetizer to arrive before I could ask for the sauce. The pho combo was good, a little on the smaller side but had decent amount of meat and noodles. It was aromatic and nice. No side veggies were served. No lime, sprouts, or basils. The bone marrow looked delicious. Except there was hardly any marrow in it, not worth the $8. The summer tea was really good, refreshing. The vermicelli mountain was served room temperature for the noodles, with cold sliced cucumbers and carrots. The minced pork was flavorful but not enough to mix thoroughly for flavor throughout. Meat portion was too small compared to the noodles and veggies portion. The chicken thighs were served with steamed rice, this was decent. The chicken was nicely cooked, flavorful and juicy. This was the first time I've had steamed rice at a restaurant were some of the rice was undercooked and some was not, almost as if they rushed through the rice cooking process and mixed together batches of rice. It was hard to eat the chicken and rice together without sauce. The decor is really lovely, modern wood tones with sectioned seating. The restaurant appears clean, except for the tables lined with dirty dishes. The waiting time was too long for me, especially with the lack of communication and acknowledgment from the staff. The food service doesn't seem consistent. The loud ding ding bell from the kitchen every time food was ready was extremely annoying. I do not think I would make the drive to come back here. If I was in the area already, I would consider ordering for delivery service. read more

We stopped in where the old Pei Wei was on Tuesday and were impressed with how much they put into the remodeling. It definitely gave an Asian feel to it and was quite elegant. We went for lunch and it had a steady crowd. The service was good but the food only mediocre. We ordered the crispy spring rolls, summer rolls, chicken with rice, combination pho, and chicken pho. It took about 15 minutes or slightly longer for the food to be pushed out on a cart. First time I've seen this other than when we go to dim sum. The crispy spring rolls aka Vietnamese egg rolls were okay, not the traditional ones with pork and glass noodles. The summer rolls aka spring rolls were different because it had mango in it. We thought it was strange that they were premade so you couldn't sub without it. The size of the rolls were bigger than average spring rolls. I ordered the combination pho one size for $17. The pho broth was bland and the only thing I could taste was star anise. I asked for some plain fish sauce so I could add to my pho for additional flavor. The waitress told me that they only had premade sauce. The service was good but the food bit a bit on the pricey side for a $17 one size bowl of combo pho. I think I'll stick to getting the authentic large pho at Pho Vi-Vi also paying less and includes tendon and tripe for $15. read more

We ordered the following items: Bang Bang Chicken Salad 10 poached chicken, cabbage, lettuce, cucumber, jalapeno, red onion, cilantro, fried onion, crispy garlic chips, served with bang bang vinaigrette; Viet Wings 12 super crispy chicken wings tossed in tangy lime glaze (mildly spicy); Vietnamese Summer Rolls 8 lettuce, carrot, mango, rice vermicelli cold noodles, mint a Thai basil leaf, and poached tiger shrimp wrapped in rice paper, with peanut-scented dipping sauce on side; and Pho Veggie 14 topped with baby bok choy, carrot, and shiitake a wood ear mushrooms, in a healthy *kombu kelp broth* The servers were very helpful and kind. The decor and atmosphere really stood out to me as this appeared to be a finer dining establishment instead of typical retail strip center digs. We appreciated the piping hot food served in the most awesome isolated to go bag. I particularly enjoyed the bang bang salad and the wings. Unfortunately I usually devour most of the wings and my husband usually gets like ONE! This was no exception! Incredibly disappointing. I came in hoping for a solid bowl of pho, but the broth completely lacked depth of flavor--it was flat and watered down. To make matters worse, their version of mango sticky rice is hands-down the worst I've ever had. They tried to "modernize" a traditional recipe, and it completely missed the mark. Upon entering, the decor is really beautifully decorated and warm. Food came out at a reasonable time and staff gave us extra utensils. I ordered Sup to go because a friend nearby was not feeling great--thinking pho would help, this was the first result that popped up since I was at target nearby. I ordered the bbq pork banh mi to go as well for me to try. Their bread was toasted perfectly and they were generous with their fillings. Taste was good 4/5. I also got the 2 specialty jasmine teas and they were a bit on the sweeter side but it was delicious none the less. 4.5/5. I did not try the broth of the pho but when I was at my friend's place and assembling it for her, the broth smelled really good. They preboiled the rare beef and included it in the to go container instead of traditionally having the raw meat on top of the noodles. Overall, it was a really good portion to go as well. Our waiter forgot to put in my entrée, which we didn't find out until after waiting over 30 minutes. He then asked us to pay while I was still waiting on my food and seemed unaware of the issue. We also had to ask multiple times for napkins and eventually asked another server. When we spoke to the manager, we were offered dessert or a refund, but he never came back. I only noticed this place as we were passing by. I had no idea a new Jo place had opened and i figured we would try it. The inside is very nice. The do not have a kids menu as of yet but the waitress said they are working on one. I guess they are seeing what people order for their kids and make a menu based off that. My daughter ended up with an adult sized bowl of pho but she enjoyed it. There were very few condiments on the table. No salt pepper or sugar but there were sauces and chopsticks. I ordered a pot of tea and it was a very pretty set. The table had a small plate with chopsticks on it. Since my kid had pho I order the banh mi. I saw a dish on the window I wanted to try but I couldn't fine it on the menu. I should have asked but it might be on their lunch menu only. They do have an interesting lunch combo that's $15. My daughter pho came out quite fast but my banh mi ga took a little longer. The sandwich was decent. Very full with meat and veggies. The bread was crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. I came in craving Vietnamese cuisine, and was pleasantly impressed! Beautiful dinning room providing plenty of aesthetics, and mood. Seated immediately, and welcomed by my server within seconds. I regret not catching her name, but she was a fantastic server! Timely check ins with with, great attitude, and good energy! Everything I ordered came out in a shockingly fast paced, which I'm not complaining about. The Houston area is home to so many Vietnamese restaurants that there is no reason for me to return here. Summer rolls: I've never had summer rolls so bland that no amount of peanut sauce, sriracha and hoisin were unable to give flavor to the vermicelli. Pho: OK, pho is the most basic of Vietnamese food; how can a restaurant not make it tasty? The broth was basic without the aroma and taste of genuine pho. Finally, my friend had 'Vermicelli Mountain.' Not even close to a real vermicelli bowl so ubiquitous in Vietnamese restaurants. My friend gave it a 'meh' rating. The service was OK. The waiter wasn't sure what was on the menu. A basic restaurant truism is that you bring out the food for the table at the same time. My friend received her meal a full 10 minutes before I received mine. Her food was beginning to get cold so I urged to go on and eat. Finally, the restaurant very clean, well laid out and friendly.
