I had their Rou-Si Pork noodle soup, one of my favourites. It was delicious, with rich flavour. It hit the right spots and satisfied my craving. While dining, the couple at the next table struck up a conversation with me and offered to share their dessert. Yes! I couldn't resist the Fried Banana, one of my favourites. Thank you! Besides the great tasting food and friendly service, diners received a gift from the restaurant to commemorate their anniversary. Thank you and congratulations to Jin's Mi-Fen! I wish you continued success!

Jin's Mi-Fen hails from Hunan's Changde City in the northwest part of Hunan Province in China. The restaurant itself has a nice bright interior with plenty of seating. I was seated quickly and given the opportunity to ask the server if you have any questions about ingredients. The server recommended the most popular item on the menu which was the Signature Spicy Beef Double Up, 招牌双拼牛肉粉 , where it's a combination of 2 different kinds of beef, cooked 2 ways. M2. combined together with M3 on the menu. M2. 酱香牛肉粉 JIANGXIANG BEEF LOIN (STRIPLOIN) M3. 津市麻辣牛肉粉 - MALA SPICY BEEF JERKY (EYE ROUND) The server forgot to mention that this dish is recommended with soup on the side. She mentioned that the Signature Spicy Beef Double Up is spicy and said that, even when customers opt for a mild spice level, it does contain spices. She recommended to request no spice if you're unsure of spice preferences. Good advice. I like it hot and spicy, and in the end the cautious approach failed to deliver the requisite heat. I ordered 2 different soups using the table's QR Code sticker. M5. 番茄牛腩粉 - TOMATO BRAISED BEEF BRISKET M1. 招牌双拼牛肉粉 - SIGNATURE DOUBLE BEEF You get to choose the noodles and spice level ahead of time. For being the most popular MUST TRY choice among customers the Signature Spicy Beef Double Up wasn't my most popular choice. The broth was watery, salty and lacked spice. On the bright side, springy soft noodles and pickled vegetables were the MVPs, with the pickled vegetables adding a nice sour and crunchy texture. The Original beef brisket noodle tomato soup was a favourite! The sweet-tangy flavour of the tomato went well with the tender soft and chewy beef brisket. This one's a winner! 老配方牛骨牛肉真實熬湯 . They make their soup in house from an old-fashioned 400-year-old recipe which uses real beef bones, no MSG, and 24 herbs. When you are ready to pay the bill, there are a few steps to walk down to get to the bar area. I had a nice chat with the really friendly people who will cash you out. Glad to see this authentic Hunan style mi-fen noodle restaurant open in Durham!

My friend had the King of Kings as our server said this is one of their most popular choices. I opted for the Spicy Charsu. Now I understand some people can't handle heat but I live off of Purple Tongue hot sauce which is made with some pretty hot peppers. I asked for a level one and the lady explained that the spice level on the Charsu was a whole series of levels higher than the King of Kings. I get that . Give me the heat. Anywho, she was comfortable with giving me 0.5 but said I could make it hotter if need be. Ok, better to start smaller I guess. They put some sauce on the side which I added to my bowl. Personally I found the 0.5 a nice tingle; it was good. Made my nose run. But I'm totally getting the level 1 next time. My friend however tried a sip of my broth, spit it out and said poison poison because of the heat Mind you, his King of Kings was a level 1. Which to me tasted creamy and delicious. I love a good pork bone soup and I opted for the Spicy Charsu because of the pork bone base. I loved the broth. It was perfection. The noodles were so fresh . The portion size was enormous. I kept eating and more noodles appeared. The Charsu had an amazing flavor to it . Smoky and delicious . My friend is a larger man and even he commented on the portion size saying he would be ok with a smaller size as he was so full. Good portions for your money. We also had the Gyoza and the TakoYaki. The TakoYaki was soft and loaded with the delicious sauce. The Gyoza were enormous. We were both 100% satisfied with our visit and will be back for sure.

The concerned server told me that it may be painful, but being the chili head that I am, I gladly took on the challenge. It was a larger bowl than their regular size and my ramen came topped with lots of corn, some mushrooms, bean sprouts and 6 large pieces of chasu. The broth was magma red, but it was not as spicy as I thought it would be. Don't get me wrong, it was spicy but not to the point where it would warrant a warning. The spicy broth tasted like a mix of Buldak sauce and Capsaicin, but didn't have much depth. I finished my ramen, broth and all and enjoyed most of the experience. The least favorite was the chasu and the egg as chasu did not taste fresh, and I could not taste the char on them at all. The egg was over-cooked and under marinated which was disappointing. It's still one of the few ramen options in Durham but can't say it's comparable to the other Kenzo locations.

I preferred the seaweed, which was pretty delicious actually. We also ordered the beef brisket noodle soup, a stir fry noodle dish with pork, and buns. The soup was delicious - great flavor, noodles were amazing as expected. The brisket was tasty but difficult to eat because you had to chew for a long long time, long enough to swallow, if that makes sense. I just let my husband eat all of the beef after my one bite. The pork dish was good too but the flavors didn't wow me. Maybe I should have ordered something spicier - although adding the chili spice helped a lot. The soup buns (5 buns/order) were amazing - super hot (temperature wise) and very tasty. We were almost too full to finish them. All ingredients seemed super fresh. Always cool to see the noodles being made - just be prepared for loud noises, especially if you have your back turned away from the counter. I guess other hand pulled noodle places I've been to there's some sort of separation or glassed in area to see them being pulled, but when the dough gets slammed onto the counter it's quite loud. I would bet each batch has at least 3 slams? I'm sure it's to get the air pockets out and is necessary - I just wonder if there's a sound barrier type option or maybe some funny sign warning or heads up from the waitstaff? We can't wait to try something else from Noodle Me!

Let's get in to ... first, off currently Aug 2019, there is construction on the roads around the strip that Noodle Me is within, so it took us a while just to get in to the parking lot. Then we noticed there isn't a whole lot of parking. Maybe some across the street. But keep that in mind if you are driving over. Once we got in, the place is a nice small place. Does have lots of sitting, but slightly packed to fill more people. The staff was very friendly and the menu had nice photos for some of their meals to entice the new comers. So myself, my wife and my sister in law went in new. Ordered the wonton soup, combo lo-mein and their steam buns (thought they were dumplings). - The Wonton soup brother was very good. Noodles, not really anything to overly rave about and wontons were plenty. So an overall good dish. - The Combo Lo-Mein, was quite good. Enjoyed the noodles and a good variety of meat and vegetables. The odd part, wasn't exactly mixed up. Noodles on one side, veggies on a another side and meat. A bit of work to mix it all. So that assumes that all of it was not fully cooked together, which I feel helps to get more of the flavour across all of the ingredients, but to each their own. - and the Steam Buns, those were quite good. The dough was pretty thick for the small appetizers But a good overall. I will say the overall flavour is good and wouldn't hesitate to visit again if I'm in the area, but wouldn't drive across the city for it.
