I have read more reviews about this shop than what is really necessary to say I had high…read moreexpectations would be the worlds biggest understatement. I ordered the spicey chicken and chips, my friends got the 12 pack of chicken, potato and gravy and chips. I know you think this review is about chicken but it's not. Ill get to that in a moment. The potato and gravy was fine, comparable in texture to KFC, chips were consistent if not a little underseasoned. The regular chicken was great, not too fatty and the coating was nice. The spicey chicken was better but here is the real kicker... the pasta salad was deadset the best pasta salad I have ever had. I am not kidding. This is not a joke or a meme. I did not come for the pasta salad but by God, the pasta salad will keep me coming back. A surprise gem in Kingswood, would definitely recommend.

Do you know... the Chicken Man?!…read more So that's not quite the line, but whatever, okay. The point is, Chicken Man is not half bad. I had always skipped over it for Subway (which it is right next to), because fresh greens beats fried chicken. But one day, I was starving, and short on cash, so I decided to make like a cheapskate and go for Chicken Man. The service is a little on the slow side, but fortunately, they have a few chairs inside where you can sit and await your order. Their seating area is located outside with tables and chairs (obvi.), protected from extreme weather conditions by an awning and ... plastic curtains of some kind. It's not the most well-maintained, sophisticated looking establishment, but it sure does get the job done. Ie; filling my demanding belly. I ordered some chicken nuggets and chips, which were delightful while being relatively cheap, and left quite satisfied and full, if a few kilos heavier.

The Butcher & Farmer looks gorgeous and I like their philosophy, but I've eaten dinner & breakfast…read morehere and both times were underwhelming. We had dinner on a Saturday night when the atmosphere was electric. We sat at the bar & chatted to the friendly staff. But after waiting 45 minutes for our mains we were absolutely starving. I ordered a steak & my fiancé had the pork spit roast. The steak was tasty but tough. It was served with tomatoes which lacked that burst of flavour that you expect from a restaurant that prides itself on produce. The spit roast had some amazing cracklings but lacked presentation. We had a side of potatoes & a garden salad that were fine. The next day I returned to tram sheds with a friend who was enticed to eat at The Butcher and Farmer by the outdoor seating. I was happy to try again for brunch hoping the previous experience was a one-off glitch. After placing our order the waiter returned after a 10 minute wait to say they had run out of porridge. With no replacement such as muesli, I stuck to my coffee, which didn't really make the grade. My friend ordered avocado, tomato and feta on toast. I'm not sure how this can take over 30 minutes to make, but again we had a long wait for food and the produce was underwhelming. The staff were apologetic & didn't charge for the coffee, but it doesn't change the fact that the meals and wait times are sub-standard and the above average prices aren't reflect in the experience. Fortunately Tram Sheds isn't short options so do go here, but perhaps try somewhere else.

They've really turned this place around since my last review, so it's in need of a full rewrite…read more They've installed a bar along most of the right hand side wall which is fully stocked with local wines, spirits, and a regularly rotating large set of craft beer on tap. You'll have to return regularly due to the rate they're rotated (I came in specifically wanting to try something my partner had loved the weekend before, it was already gone). Absolutely zero standard domestic beers to be seen. Staff are more than happy to let you taste everything on tap before making a selection, and incredibly friendly too. The food selection has greatly increased. As well as the burgers and waffle fries they had the last time I was here, they've also got woodfired pizza, bao, and a bunch of sandwiches and other more. My only disappointment is that the Jalapeño poppers had disappeared (I'm always a sucker for them from anywhere). I usually don't enjoy craft beers, but most of the ones I tried were great. They've actually got me interested in coming back to try more. That was a very unexpected reaction, as I'm usually finding myself getting lost in various wines instead. They've also got a beer garden out the back which I haven't checked out yet. But going by the photos I'm definitely looking forward to doing so. They've often got some live music going on in the afternoon. After my first visit I wasn't that eager to return, now I can't wait to visit again.

We got there right when it opened at 5:30 and they had a three-course date night special for a half hour, so we jumped on that deal! Started with foccaccia bread with balsamic vinegar/olive oil. Then my husband got the New York strip steak and I got the half rack of pork ribs. They offered a few other choices for mains. My ribs were cooked nicely and it was a large portion, complete with a bib and some cleansing wipes for fingers afterwards. We ended our meal with a delightful chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream! It also came with a bottle of wine to enjoy throughout. The servers were friendly and attentive. It was a nice splurge experience!

I read the reviews of this place before I went and I try not one to believe everything I read but…read morethe reviews on the this place were a pretty spot on. The decor was nice and modern and seemed like a nice place. Walk in and greeted by friendly people. Look at the menu.. Nothing much to chose from which has proven to be more good than bad! The less on the menu the more mastered the choices are usually..not this place in my opinion. I can only speak for choice which was the the steak forgot which it was! But the second cheapest which still was around the $28 mark.. Now for a steak for that much mulla I wasn't expect Royal beef but something decent. Nah. It was tuff and chewy and drowning it on sauce was the best way to wash it down. I had it cooked medium rare.. Oh and my fav on the menu it says "all mains come with chips and salad" yeah ok. They put a bowl of chips and salad in the middle of the table and you share.. "Joey doesn't share food!!!" What the hell!? I had like three chips because I didn't want to look like a pig! It was only a small bowl for three adults! Finally the price.. This place is so incredibly over priced it ridiculous. Check out the menu and the prices online it's not worth the trip. I don't enjoy this place at all. People were nice. That's why 2 stars.
