Other weird stuff: The email announcing the postponement did not come from the MYF email account- it came from a Gmail account thatapparently is associated with a w33d greenhouse in Desert Hot Springs. What?? It also didn't mention the festival by name or provide any explanation. The email also contained multiple typos. Clearly they need new management to revive this festival with so much potential!

The center was well stocked with copious amounts of brochures catering to visitors of all kinds of interests. There were unique souvenirs, books, maps, and gifts. We were greeted by an employee who provided a free map and made several suggestions for places to run nearby. She gave excellent directions and we had no trouble finding our way to the Sherwin Lakes trail head. It was just as she described- a quick moderate hike just short of 5 miles. Coming here was a great decision since we had trouble deciding where to run. It saved us so much time in researching and we got in a quick run before we had to set off to drive for 6 hours.

This is a dog friendly event and when a stranger approached my dog, said nothing to me, and started petting her, I asked them to please ask before touching my dog. While I was still within two feet of her, Dani started making fun of me and talking crap with someone who had approached her information booth. I told her I could hear her and she just looked startled and did not apologize. Despite giving her a chance to be professional, she chose to continue to make this an unwelcome place while standing in a professional booth. Poor judgement and disgusting behavior for a family event. Will be complaining to her employer.
