Mane we ordered the wrong food? Beers are fine. Calzone was okay, 4/5, the dough is pizza dough and it's a good dough, honey pepperoni filling. Chicken tenders, 3/5, it's baked. Like maybe baking it to warm it up, I don't think it's fresh out the fryer. Bacon? Mac n cheese, 2/5, where is my bacon bites?? I can count them with my fingers. Was expecting more bacon than garnish. And it's not a spectacular Mac n cheese neither. Not sure about the burgers and other items, but based on the calzone, the pizzas should be dope. They do bring the food to your table. And we sat outside with our pup. Would come back for beer for sure but the food knocked down the overall rating.

Hot honey pepperoni was sooo good, this place had great beers and was dog friendly. We definitely left our mark on the photo wall. This place is a must every time you're in Mammoth.

What's awesome: This place is super dog-friendly, which is a huge plus. Dogs are welcome inside at the tables as well as on the outdoor patio, making it a great spot to hang out with your pup. The beer prices are also very reasonable. Also, the food was decent. What's not awesome: We visited at 8:30 p.m. on July 4th and the music was incredibly loud. It felt like they were going for more of a lounge or nightclub vibe, which made it way too hard to have a conversation. The service was also hit or miss. The man who took our order wasn't very friendly, although the woman with the gems on her face was fantastic--she was welcoming, efficient, and stood out in a positive way. The biggest issue was the ordering line. There was a long line at one register while a second register had little to no line. The male employees behind that register, specifically two guys chatting with each other, never made any effort to let people know they were available to take orders or help move the line along. It seemed like an easy problem to fix, but they didn't appear concerned about reducing the wait.

Great food and even better beer. The pizza is delicious ---even came back a second night for some more ! Everyone is super friendly and I just love the outside patio and the place is kid friendly and pet friendly. Doesn't get any better !

Good sandwich, cookies tasted like the Mrs Fields frozen and baked or whatever Aramark is selling these days which was fine but not anything special. Got food take away and it was relatively quick even during peak dinner around 6PM on a Saturday in summer. Before leaving I double checked my order and noticed the chip flavor was wrong; pointed it out at the counter and it was quickly remediated. Always check! Sounded like the World Cup game was on, they had beer on tap. Good for groups and watching a game/match.

What I liked: the beer I had ( IPA ), the large portions especially of the hummus. It was literally enough for about 6 people. I also liked the space outside and the people there. A lot of people had dogs and people tend to bond over their dogs. I don't get these places that don't allow dogs. Anyway I'm just glad they do here. It was also open mic night, so it added a bit of entertainment to being there. They also have pool tables to entertain you.

Mango light beer and half margherita pizza - both ok

Very busy brewery in Mammoth Lakes and highly rated, so I stopped in after driving half a day to reach here to fill up my tank. The place was jammed pack with people at 6pm and definitely a lot of solo men in here, some couples, quite a few doggies, families. Seems everyone gathered here after a day on the mountain. Service was fast as you order at the bar and if you order food, you get a number and they bring the food to you. I had a mango light beer and half a margherita pizza. Beer was drinkable but couldn't really taste any mango accents. Pizza was also edible, but for me, the drizzled balsamic vinaigrette was not for me, but appreciated the fresh tomato and basil. Nice place to stop in and would consider coming back again but I'm pretty certain this place will be very very congested on the weekend...

    Great beer and food!

What great beer - one of the best here in Mammoth. We also had the hummus plate, which was probably one of the best we have ever had. It had an assortment of food to dip into it. We drove by after a hike on Saturday afternoon and it was packed. We tried on a Monday and it was much better to get a table. Mammoth hopping on the weekends. They had tables both inside and out.

I've been to Distant Brewery on my last two trips to Mammoth , both times everything has been great. They are always busy and on our last trip in January we wound up sitting outside. There were heaters and several people so everything was fine. I've always enjoyed the food we've had there. It is delicious.

Stopped in during drive from Reno to Bishop. I was hoping to get a bite to eat to accompany the beer. Kitchen closed an hour before closing so only tried the beer. Had a hazy and a wc, both were really well made. They had a local DJ running the music, vey good. A good crowd for the beer and music even though it was pretty loud. Would definitely try if staying in the Mammoth area - I like breweries so I normally stop by them whenever I can.

Staff super chill. Beers & food amazing! My new favorite spot in mammoth! We got their burger and was outstanding!

West Coast IPA and their Sure, Bert Sour
    Cindy M.

The food was decent (I got asada tacos - pictured and not pictured are the cheeseburger and chicken sandwich my husband and kid got), the drinks were better. My husband can't recall the exact name of the beer he got but it was a West Coast IPA. I got the sour and I loved it. It tasted like juice to me. The vibe was chill. They have a stage for music. The food came out quickly and those working the bar and serving our food were nice. Totally would come back again.

Ask the Community - Distant Brewing

    Is it 21 and up?

To order beer, yes. To order food or soda or iced tea or to play pool or any of the games on the game shelf or to listen to music or to hang out? No.

Are there TVs there to watch the LA Kings games?

We have a 100” projector and we can play one game at a time. Just ask your bartender and if no one has requested anything we should be able to find it to stream online.

Does this restaurant take reservations ? Thank you!

We do not. It’s all first come first serve.

The vibe is casual and inside is a pretty nice collection of Kansas City Royals baseball memorabilia. You don't have to love KC to enjoy this - if baseball is your thing, you will appreciate this. Dan even gave us the back ground on the owners history with KC. I highly recommend the baked brie as an appetizer - it was crazy amazing! I ordered the meatloaf and trust me, this isn't your ordinary meatloaf. It was recommended by a friend and you cannot go wrong with this choice. 5 stars! My husband had the salmon, and although it was very good, he wished he had gotten the meatloaf, so I graciously gave him half as the portion is huge! The only reason I didn't give it five stars is the dessert. Dan had recommended the carrot cake and said the portion was larger than other selections so, when we got home, we were disappointed in both the size and the taste. Although good, both my husband and I were expecting an amazing carrot cake and it tasted just normal. Admittedly, both my husband and I are carrot cake snobs so maybe our standards were a bit too high. But I would try another dessert. Plus, the cake was in a large container so by the time we got home, the frosting was all over the side of the container instead of the cake. If you get dessert to go, ask for a smaller container. Although this must sound picky, after such a delightful dining experience, it just felt like a little let down when we got home. Other than that, the experience was top-notch and I will definitely visit again the next time we are in Mammoth. Thanks for a great experience, Dan! By the way, a local highly recommended both the fish tacos and the lobster taquitos. I trust his recommendation completely! Just something else to consider on this amazing menu.

We arrived and were greeted warmly by our host and seated at a table in front of the fireplace. The restaurant is very small and cozy. Our server took our drink orders and brought out a bread basket. We all ordered the following: - Soup of the day (loaded baked potato) - short rib fries - oven roasted Frenched chicken breast - chicken Parmesan - pan seared chinook salmon - shrimp scampi There was a small hiccup when my 10-year-old son noticed another table had been served chicken tenders and fries. We weren't offered a kids' menu, so he had ordered chicken Parmesan from the regular menu. Not a huge issue, but it would have been nice to know kid-friendly options were available. Unfortunately, service timing became more of a problem toward the end of the meal. After we had mostly finished eating, our server asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu. We said yes, and I gently reminded her we were celebrating a birthday. When she returned, she brought a complimentary birthday dessert with a candle (very thoughtful gesture!) but our dinner plates, empty glasses, and general table clutter were still in front of us. We also still hadn't seen the dessert menu we'd asked for, which made the moment feel rushed and a bit awkward. Needless to say, our server seemed to catch on that I was disappointed in the service towards the end of our meal. It seemed like she was the only server on the floor, too, which probably explained the lack of attentiveness and timing issues. Overall, the food was alright and everyone enjoyed their meals. It was an okay dining experience but the service could definitely use some improvement. For a restaurant with higher menu prices and a more upscale presentation (linen napkins, cozy ambiance, etc.), the level of service didn't quite match my expectations. I would still return as it could've just been an "off" night and their martinis were great!
