Never again, this is the 5th or 6th time I've gone here, first few times Manal's, the owner did a good job in trimming my hair which has been all one length past the middle of my back. The 2nd to the last time she cut off a bit more than a micro trim let's say an inch... when I went in this past Thursday, I asked that she give me very long layers, my hair was down to my waist- I have no idea what she heard or thought but in the end she cut off 4 inches and then layered- totally ruining my hair- now I have to let it grow out so it can be fixed- it's very choppy, long pieces of hair here and there and she charged me 50$, what a joke- she is definitely off her game. And I won't ever be back. I am sick over it and her comment was I think it looks better hmmm .. no it doesn't! It took me a solid 3 years to grow it out! I'm humiliated and very upset to say the least! Never again!!! And might I add she waxes your eyebrows way too thin, it's not the 80's anymore! SMH! read more

They're very nice here! I won't lie, I was nervous because I seemed to be the youngest one there by far (though stayed because of good reviews), but the guy that works there asked what I needed done. Told him just a wash and cut, and he got me going right away with someone. She did an amazing job with my hair, gave me exactly what I wanted, and even did a couple extra things without charge. I didn't want a style, but she still showed me how to style my bangs to get them to curl right, and dried my hair the rest of the way (needless to say I gave her a good tip). Everyone was extremely nice, they've all known each other for a while (she gave me a run down of things which was cool). I'll definitely be coming back when I need my next trim!! read more

Mark gave me a great cut. He really listened to what I wanted, double checked before cutting anything, and made sure I was happy before leaving. You can tell he loves what he does. It shows. This was my first experience here. It definitely won't be the last. I will most likely use other services here as well as recommend to others! Everyone was very accommodating and friendly. I stopped by this place in need of an eyebrow wax. My oh my, do I hate getting my eyebrows waxed, but it is one of those things I do to look fly. Well, the owner did my brows not only virtually pain free using organic products but, they were the best I have ever had done! I mean really she's an artist! At the time I had shaven my head and when my first decent cut was going to be done with my newly grown in hair, I wanted it to be done well but, not cost an arm and a leg, ya know. She suggested i come back to see Mark. As he usually cuts men's hair but, is a very skilled stylist overall, he sounded like a match! Was he ever! I travel from Columbus, Ohio to get to Manal's at least once every three months - and for several reasons! 1. My skin has never looked or felt better after a waxing (facial - eyebrows, lip, chin, etc.). Manal's utilizes a special organic cream (instead of plain wax) that removes dark spots, is thorough and painless and continues to last for weeks longer than any other waxing I have had. 2. Manal is very intuitive and knowledgeable about hair care! After examining my scalp, she suggested vitamins that would benefit my hair's health (as well as my nails and skin). I trust her to cut and style my hair, usually without much direction - and it always looks great and feels a lot healthier. It was not my practice to write a review after a treatment or service. I read mixed reviews about Manal, and I feel it is time for me to add my comment about her work. I started going to Manal this year and have been there three times. I went there for coloring, cutting, and setting. I like her suggestion on my hair do, and the way she set my hair. She recommended a cooper color for my hair; I was hesitant at first, but it turned out great. Everyone told me it is a color for me. Manal knows what she is doing. She curled my hair beautifully and my husband loved it. I knew I could not set the hair like how she did it, so I waited for at least one week or 10 days before I washed my hair. I have no complaint about Manal and her salon. I went there for her skill and her friendly attitude, not for the ambience of the salon or the location. The new place is a bit smaller than the old location in Dearborn, but it does not matter. I like her as my stylish and will follow her wherever she moves. read more

Salon's decor is dated and badly needs to be refreshed. What is with the huge framed posters of Michael Jackson, Marilyn Monroe, Elvis that line the walls...living in the past. Mark was my stylist and he certainly doesn't have a sparkling personality. I got the feeling he doesn't like working with long hair. He complained about how tangled it got after he washed it moaning that he put 2 different conditioners on it. Then after he detangled my hair and cut it wet he made sure I knew it was extra to blow dry my hair. Fifty dollars for cut and blow dry. Ok blow dry my hair. Who wants to leave a salon with wet hair especially when it's 40 degrees outside? Then after blow drying my hair he didn't style it or even spray it with hairspray, no mousse or any products. Nothing. He didn't give me a mirror so I could see the back. He acted like he could not have cared less about how my hair looked. He never asked if I was happy with his work. I did ask him to shorten my bangs up more and he argued about that and complained I have a colic on one side. Just a lousy experience overall. read more

I recently took a chance on having Manal cut my hair. She's a pleasant enough person but CANNOT cut a bob. I was visiting Dearborn and took a chance. She butchered my hair! Manal did my hair and while she is a very sweet lady, she didn't actually do a good job. I asked for an angled bob parted down the middle and she didn't stay true to my part. She also kept one side longer because she "could tell I sleep on that side more." She was very condescending to me because I don't want children, and she kept telling me I'm wrong and that I'll change my mind. What I do with my reproductive system is no business of hers. Overall I didn't have a good experience and now I have to wait for my uneven hair to grow out. If you don't mind the drive, lucky hair co. in canton is a much better alternative. read more

Manual fixed my brows for under $20 dollars. I think I'm allergic to her "organic wax", so I'll have to mention it next time. There must be almond oil or Shea butter in it because I keep breaking out in hives every time. If you have a nut allergy, you should also inquire before going. read more

Manal is incredible! I went to get my eyebrows waxed today, it only took about 5 minutes, didn't hurt a bit, and they have never looked better. She was very through , waxed, plucked, trimmed, and threaded! Manal has a great understanding of the face and had great tips to enhance my very very light eyebrows. Ok so after everything I went threw aurging over my hair an colors. Being double booked and then claiming it was my fault. It is now very clear to me the age old rule. Ya know dont piss your server off or they will spit in your food, and I guess the same goes for your stylist. I asked for blonde and red mix. I left with not blind hair. I asked them to redo it I wanted blonde with red. This is a whole new color. They promised me it would fade. Well my first though was,.....I dont want a faded color look??? Wtf? Who the hell wants that? they kept talking over n over an touching my hair an styling it. Showing me its great. Which it was, it just was NOT what I wanted. It was whatever though, it qas clear they did not want to fix it to my liking. They kept telling me they know what was good for my hair etc. Thats great, but I dont care. Its my hair and I asked for something specific. End result my hair if a brown. A BROWN.... I wanted blonde!! I paid 137$ plus a tip for 2 colors an a trim. You shittin me? I have shoulder length hair. Salons by me its like 50$ an it turns out great. Anyways im pretty pissed off. It takes forever to get back blonde with OUT bleaching it. Are they seriously kidding me. I dont go suet happy, but my hair is one I would. They did it on purpose and when I wasnt happy they refused to make it right. Awesome. One star is more than they should get. When I called to make an appt, I spoke with Bev who was very friendly. I explained my hair was very thick and curly and requested a stylist who was familiar with this hair type since it can be a challenge. My last haircut (from another salon) was a chopped up mess and I've been scared to have someone touch it. So I appreciated Bev listening and helping right from the start. My appt. was scheduled with the owner, Manal. She was so kind and welcoming, but exuded confidence in her work. I brought along two pics of a long curly bob that I thought would be a fun change but Manal explained why that wouldn't work for my hair type. She instead gave me a fantastic cut suited to my curls with long layers. It's also flattering when I straighten it. I appreciated her honesty and expertise.
