First time trying Manam after seeing many good reviews. The flavors were familiar yet exciting. The crispy palabok was not just about the dramatic sauce pour--the taste itself was excellent. The eggplant ensalada was fresh and flavorful, and the corned beef silog was a nice East-meets-West twist using Irish-style corned beef. I'll definitely look for Manam wherever I go. It somehow reminds me of The Cheesecake Factory in the U.S.--a place you can rely on for satisfying food. The only downside was service. It seemed like they might be understaffed. My husband's dish arrived about 10 minutes after mine, and we had to ask for table water after being seated. Overall, the food alone makes it worth the visit. read more

An example is their watermelon sinigang, which still retained the classic sinigang taste but it was slightly sweeter. Another interesting dish they served us was the crispy palabok. My friend recommended this place and it was actually the first place I ate when I was in Manila. It's a comfort food spot so it has all the Pinoy favorites and it was a good place to start at. Of all the Sisig I had on my trips, this place was the best! It was crispy and super flavorful in a way that others weren't. It's in the classics section of the menu so you know it's a good choice. We also got Sinigang with watermelon and beef short rib. Sinigang is soup, so it's literally a watermelon beef soup. I know it sounds hella weird but it was honestly great. The 3rd dish we got I don't remember the name of, it was honestly a bit forgettable. But it's important to get veggies a bit when you can while there because it seems like all they eat is rice and meat haha. No complaints about it though! I think I would have swapped that for the adobo if I went back. The food comes in 3 sizes which I love, you can try more and not have to order too much of one thing like we do in America. In the US it's large or extra large. But the Asian culture makes it easy to order small amounts and share it all which I think is great. Or if you want sisig all for yourself you can just get a large and max out your cravings too haha. And when you're here get a drink! I got the ube sago. It's kinda like a version of bubble tea but more of a shake consistency. Vibe inside was nice too, looked and felt comfy. Very loud but you'll get used to it. So yummy! We went here for my mom's birthday dinner and it was fantastic! We were a party of five, checked in around 6pm, and were seated without a wait. We ordered family style: crispy pork sisig, oxtail Kare kare, garlic rice, Lechon Kawali, pancit palabok, and gising gising. I ordered a mango smoothie and they were able to accommodate it without milk - so good! Everything was delicious - my favorites were the kare kare and lechon kawali. Comfort Filipino food. The staff are generally friendly. I was fairly impressed with the food especially with the twists that they put into it. We had laing (taro leaves with crispy pork bits and coconut cream), pancit sisig (noodles with bits of crispy little bits of meat usually from a pig's head) and sizzling corned beef cansi (savory beef broth). Sizzling bangus sisig - order it like Sizzling hot and ask them to have Bangus cooked well done! It was great ulam and side dish that goes well with the watermelon sinigang. Don't forget the rice! Manam features Filipino food with a twist. What I experienced are great textures, new flavors and other nuances that make my tastebuds and my mouth smacked with deliciousness. All of their dishes were all delicious. You can also order how much you want depending how many people are eating like small, medium or large. A funny story is while we were waiting for our food - I saw a female server bringing a huge plate of crispy pata, and was surprised that is considered a Large. Then she delivered for a family of 3. The lady who ordered was shocked but laughed about it. I highly recommend ordered either small and medium for a party of 2 to 3 people. I'm not sure why this place doesn't have more stars because it honestly changed my life. So first off I like that each dish has different sizes even though it's tapas style. It makes it really nice when you're sharing family style. The sizzling corn beef cansi was the star of the meal. It actually breaks my heart that we don't have anything close to this in the States. I still dream about it.... but yeah it's amazing and you have to try it. It's got the right amount of tang but is savory at the same time. The sisig was also amazing. It was crispy, juicy, and so flavorful. I've never had anything quite like it. The desserts here are also to die for. I tried the halo halo and this Ube drink. They were HUGE--there were people there drinking one by themselves! I really don't think you can go wrong with anything here. Also the prices at this place may be more for what you would typically pay in the Philippines but my entire meal with four people only cost like 34 dollars USD! We ate here as one of our last big family dinners. We had to wait for our whole party of 14 to arrive before being seated. The dishes were served family style and we ordered a lot of the usual Filipino food. My favorite was the pork sinigang, but that's just because it's my favorite dish in general. Unfortunately I didn't eat much here because I wasn't feeling well, but everything looked great. The service was pretty slow, but the place was busy and we had a large party so it's too be expected. Manam never fails to satisfy my cravings. Every menu is good, you will never fear to try a new one. However, the kape't sago gulaman failed me last night. It tastes good, the caffeine was enough, im a coffee person anyway. But I'm not sure why there is a 'spike' on my throat while drinking. It's like having an allergy with burning sensation that's why I did not finish. We asked our waiter, and accdg to him, it was the coffee syrup. We first ate here in January 2015 when it was still relatively unknown. No crowd. Fast forward to December 2015 fully packed and there was a waiting list to get in! That's indicative of the quality of their offerings. The standard Filipino fare is typical of what you'll find elsewhere. However, venture to the "with a twist" side of the menu and you will discover where Manam really shines. They've concocted interesting spins on the traditional dishes and infused different flavors and ingredients to those dishes. The Beef Short Rib and Watermelon Sinigang was a full on WOW! Fantastic! I love trying out new stalls and restos so Manam in Food Choices, Glorietta was a pleasant discovery for me. It's a really good Filipino restaurant that I totally recommend to anyone looking for fast, affordable, quality Filipino food. The prices are very reasonable and the cooking really tasty, although I find the serving size a bit small. There is also a wide range of combos for you to choose from. Another option is that you could choose and make your own meal. First choose what manner of rice you would like (white rice, garlic rice, tinapa rice, or bagoong rice). Then choose your ulam/viand (inasal-style grilled chicken, tapa-style grilled beef belly, bagnet-style pork belly, house sizzling sisig, corned beef abodo, or butterflied fried tinapa). Lastly choose your gulay/sidedish (gising gising, mangga't kamatis, talong at maalat na itlog, adobong kangkong, kare-kareng gulat, or pinakbet. I would absolutely recommend their tinapa with garlic rice and kare-kare. The place was crowded on a Sunday evening Jan 3 2016. Everything I anticipated to order is no longer available. What they have are slow mover (not a favorite) items in the menu. I believe this joint has a very limited budget and storage space to be able to serve a big crowd. These are tell-tale signs this joint is going downhill. I perceive that this joint will be barely able to survive the cost of rental space at MOA. The food is a so-so, I don't need to attend a culinary arts degree to enable to cook they serve. My grandma or aunt can do better that this millennials.The price is acceptable but a bit pricey at some items. i gave it 2 because of the staff they have. don't get me wrong, food was great but the staff - what staff. they were all outside chatting/gossiping and when you look for them they're nowhere to be found becuase they are outside. also what really bothered me was the staff photobombing . so i just arrived from US and my relatives came and we went here to eat dinner. like i said food was great. we asked the staff to take a group picture of my family and boy oh boy when we looked at the pictures - i mean pictures not just 1 but almost all of the pictures taken there's a freakin photobomber (manam's staff/waiter) same person in each of the pictures taken. so we asked that person to take our picture and i made sure that there is no photobomber. then we asked for another one dude really another staff this time a girl photobomb. REALLY!!! i have to say something lucky i didnt asked for the manager but i really got to post my comment and if Manam owner at this location is reading this please talk to your staff - it is not funny when your staff do these photobombs more than 1!! read more

Eating at Manam was an unplanned coincidence. We were supposed to eat somewhere else, but then it was closed so we had to have a new game plan. It was raining, it was cold, we just wanted to eat. Then I walked by Manam and was immediately enamoured by it. It looked absolutely pretty from the outside, and it looked warm. For the cold weather, we were already sold by how Manam looked. If you've read my other reviews, it's no secret how much I love Filipino food. What I love more than just Filipino food, is smart, and inventive food. Looking at Manam's menu, you can't help but just be impressed. It was such a smart menu. It separated its food in two columns: from normal to fusion. So it has everything for those wanting the classic dishes and for those who want something new. For some classic dishes, go for the house crispy sisig and the laing. For the twist, go for Sinigang na Beef Short Rib & Watermelon. Sounds a little kooky right? But once you taste it, you'll be amazed by how those flavors actually go together. I'm going to swear by this place now, and hope that you get to taste the genius of Manam. read more
