As we began to work out scheduling, he asked me if my wife was going to be around for the appointment and I said no, due to the fact that she would be on assignment in California. And not only that, the home is in my name solely. He proceeds to get nasty with me, tells me, "I likes getting a check so if your wife will be there then I'm going to cancel the appointment" and he hung up on me. I was dumbfounded. But what he didn't realize is that I had the phone on speaker due to the fact I was taking my Wife to the airport. My wife and my Aunt heard every word he said and they were just as dumbfounded. The sales person Charlie met with me and took the appropriate measurements, was respectful of my time, and gave us plenty of options. Their professionalism was what sold me on the company--they were not trying to upsell me, or overcharge like other companies would (one other company gave us a 3 hour sales pitch and quoted 20k for the same six windows). Universal gave us a reasonable price and didn't take up unnecessary time. Eugeniy personally ordered the windows to the custom measurements, and when they arrived he brought one to store so that it wouldn't be damaged in transit. He had recommended that we install a new window in our exit door and it was the right call--that entire area looks much improved! The installers were prompt, professional, and the end result was clean, precise, and expertly done. Eugeniy himself came to check the quality of their work and made sure it was done to his standard before receiving the final payment. I talked to several companies about this job (initially, we weren't sure if we were going to go back with real cedar that was originally on our house or the Nichiha cedar shake) that Russ recommended. I had many questions, and he answered all of them! His crew arrived on time and worked efficiently. My wife and I were initially nervous about how the shake siding would look compared to the real cedar we had before. But as you can see in the pictures, it turned out wonderfully, even better than we expected. Russ immediately followed up to ensure I was satisfied after the job was done. This is our second time using Russ. He also replaced the siding on two of our chimneys a few years ago and did a great job with that as well. The amazing thing is how compassiate he is the work. During the initial visit, he took me for a ride, literally, to other sites he finished. All looked fantastic. I hired the company and he finished the chimney in one day, replacing the underside, which did not exist. They perfectly color matched the house and did a wonderful job cleaning up. He followed up later with a phone call, asking how please I was with the work. I told him that he could bring anybody by to look at the work and compared the house to the chimney. One year and a half later, I called him again for roofing and siding, the whole house. He again whisked me away, to the exact same places. So you know there is no BS in where he worked. I hired him for both again, comparing him with other companies. The rook was finished in one day, cleaned up and all. The siding took nearly two weeks. Siding work is messy, so expect that. I did not. In any case, they worked with me in my daily inspections of the work. If saw something, they corrected it. I had some screens riped. They replaced. I asked to replace the house siding inside my porch. They replaced. NO extra charge. Lastly, he is reasonably priced. I checked. He, again, followed up after the job. He also gave a very long guarantee, in writing. Hire them!!!
