Always liked the convenience of this store and I used to know most of the employees before ownership change. The 2-star review is due to my experience on recent Saturday trying to buy an EGO string trimmer that was advertised on the website at $199. This was a kit with battery and charger. Lowes had the same kit at the same price. The website said my store had 3 in stock so I ran over to get one. My shock when the clerk rang it up at $479!!. When I asked what's up she said they don't really go by the price on the website.??? She apologized and said she could leave a note on the owners' desk. I asked why even call yourselves Ace if the website price doesn't apply. So, I should have purchased it online, then called for the rest of the day asking when my purchase was ready for pickup??. It would have been Monday before I heard back. Weak link in the sales chain. So, I drove to Lowes. Incidentally, she told me they had been selling these all weekend. Quatroy's Ace Hardware is one of the few small Hardware stores left on the Northshore. They have a fairly good selection of tools and building supplies. They also fill propane tanks which is great, considering most place just do tank exchange. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. They sell the Mandeville by the lake license plates that you see on cars over here. Since it is a small store, they don't stock everything a Lowes or Home Depot may have, but this is a locally owned business. I we want to keep our local businesses we must support them. read more

I recently was shopping for a Kamado Grill and found out that Kamado Joe was sold by Mandeville Ace Hardware. I first researched the item online then called to ask a few simple questions including availability of the KJ grill. They answered promptly and were knowledgeable about the item, the price, and that it was in stock. With that said I visited the store where I was greeted promptly, friendly, and additional questions were answered and a smaller like model was shown to me by Scotty. When I decided to make the purchase they then took my information so they could do a local delivery the next afternoon. The next day they called to make sure it was conveyor them to stop by and sent a 2 man crew to my house to complete the delivery and assembly. They were courteous and careful delivering the expensive purchase, and assembled it as well. I will definitely be shopping there again due to the awesome purchase experience from start to finish. read more

I love to look around the store at interesting outdoor planters and decorations. I am now a member of the Flag Club. After I buy so many, I get one free and they have the best selection in Mandeville. Don't forget to pet the cat who is usually on the counter when you check out. The store has a nice nostalgic feel but all the modern necessities one might need for home repair and maintenance. read more

Every time I go there a lot of people Meandering around inside and there's always employees talking them up and it just feels nice to patronize this place. And every employee I have ever encountered seems so helpful and out of their way nice. I go there a lot for keys to be made as I need them often and their prices are right in line with Home Depot. read more

This place offers convenience and great service. They don't have the big selection that Lowe's or Home Depot has. And their prices are higher. But if you need something quick or have questions, it's worth it. I get all my keys made here. The machines at the big box places never seem to cut them correct. The line for propane can get pretty long at times, especially when a hurricane enters the Gulf. read more

Have what you need. I stop in about once every 2 weeks for something and can usually figure it out. They have bee keeping supplies as well so that's cool too. There's some guys in there that really know their stuff when it comes to putting something together. read more

The fact that there is a no borrow policy is absolutely ridiculous. Im in a pinch and run over to the store for a meter key (I essentially have a geiser in my front yard) and im told that once an item is used it can no longer be put back on the shelf for resale. A year previous the same situation arose and the employees there at that time were fully understanding and allowed the use of the tool. Have you ever noticed a difference in the integrity of a wrench or hammer after one use? No because when used properly tools are meant to last for more than a single job. (even though thats all i needed it for) Autozone and other hardware stores allow for borrowing and because this one does not it will suffer. I highly recommend adopting the borrow policy (i even offered up my name and credit card) and instructing employees it is ok to help someone in frantic need. read more
