My first visit in June with Kyra was nothing short of an impression. She took her time to consult and enlighten based on the details I shared, hands down the most educational session I have ever received - yay for understanding mixed hair more! This session today allowed us the opportunity to delve into more exploration: layers, face framing and even inquisitions on coloring in the future - which I have never done. After both sessions, I have left the salon feeling heard, light, rejuvenated and never rushed. Kyra's tangible passion and love for her craft leaves you feeling and looking beautiful. The gal I saw did not ask me how I wanted my lash lift so I did speak up (and requested what I wanted in a way that's given great results at 5+ other places) and she took creative control in the worst way. For the brows she took 20 mins to do like 5 big wax strips and tweezed maybe 10 hairs on the tails of my brows and they look very sloppy. She never asked if I was happy with the service and I did not ask her to fix anything because the initial results were so bad I would not trust her to make any fixes. They also had the worst salon chairs I've ever had where they lean you back in a sitting position in a way that puts so much pressure on your lower back and I've been in pain all day. I also found it extremely odd that the gal doing my service barely spoke to me unless I asked a question, but carried on a conversation with another employee and her client the whole time (sharing stories about dogs they knew who got run over!) as if I was not there.

Located down the street from where I work remotely in Downtown West Palm off of Olive Avenue in between Datura and Clematis, One Xi has the feel of many metropolitan and suburban hair salons with a sophisticated design of white and gray flourishes. They offer all the typical services you would find at a salon -- I have had both haircuts and brow waxing at One Xi. For being located in the city, parking isn't too terrible, with paid metered parking available on the street as well as garages. But what makes any salon great are the professionals you hire, and Emily has been a diamond of a hair stylist since the very first appointment I made earlier this year in March. Very few stylists have known how to approach my hair, but Emily has a skill that can't be taught. Needless to say, my hair is in good hands when I go there for my scheduled visits.
