A typical souvenir shop with a great variety of "Stuff" from 70-dollar flip flops to 3 dollar trinkets. It has off street parking and air conditioning! It has lots of clothing and a whole section of stuff for kidlets. If on the island, it is a pretty good place to get that special gift. I wouldn't pay the 6 dollar toll to get on the island to shop there though :-) Only funny thing is I after I purchased a small trinket, I asked the cashier if she had any quarters (wanted one for my granddaughter) and she abruptly said NO! Last week I witnessed the most deplorable behavior from a sales associate. I guess they make commission? So a father and his daughter were in there and they actually pointed out to her that they had what they called the dumplings . The Dad tried to explain to the little girl that the ones they were selling were not the copyrighted version. The saleswoman straight up lied to this father and the child and told them that they are in fact the real ones just so she could make a sale. Absolutely disgusting to scam children. The service was not good. All Workers but one could not speak English and the one barley could . and they ask us not to unfold t-shirts to look at them because it was 15 min until closing . I selected a tshirt and another item to purchase and was told that they had counted the drawer and I would have to use a credit /debit card and they would nlnot except cash . Probably the best place on the island currently for good sunglasses and beachy clothing. My old oakleys broke while visiting sanibel and out of all the other stores I tried, this was the only one that had oakleys and other top brands. Huge store. Staff and service were great. I was really disappointed by the service at Mango Bay. This is one of the better shops on the island with lots of things to look at, but the service was a let down. We came in four different times to purchase items and spent quite a bit of money. We rode our bikes from where we were staying and after making yet another purchase, my sweet Mom fell off of her bike right in the parking lot. She had just purchased a beautiful mug and it broke into pieces. I took her receipt and broken mug into the store and asked if they could offer a replacement. The mug was only $9.99, and after our several high dollar purchases, hoped the manager would kindly replace my Mom's mug. Unfortunately, the lady at the counter was gruff and has to ask several times to please ask to get the Manager. The Manager apparently was 'having a bad day' and wouldn't come out. My Mom was crushed about her mug and hurt from her fall. I repurchased another mug, but would have hoped for RETURNING customers, they could have offered better service. We shopped across the street at other shops for the rest of our trip. read more

We visited the shop on July 16th, and both employees that I talked to were very nice and told me about the deals on children's tees, as I was looking for our grands. The most expensive children's tees were $16.99, much less than the $24.99 at another shop closer to Lighthouse Beach Park. The other tees were $9.99, and they are very nice - - our grandchildren loved them! read more

Extra star for being open late on a Sunday night when everything else was closed during a quiet week when low season and the red tide scare scared everybody off. They have the usual stuff with the word SANIBEL plastered on every conceivable surface, but they also have a nice selection of sandals and clothing up to XXL. Decent prices. WARNING: SURFSTYLE "Sunglasses" they sell DO NOT have UVA or UVB protection! Woman would not allow me to get a refund or exchange on them so I just left them at the store. They WILL damage your eyes if worn outdoors. Sunglasses that lack necessary UV-blocking lenses will cause your pupils to dilate. This increases the amount of harmful solar radiation your eyes are exposed to, increasing your risk of developing eye conditions like cataracts, retinal tissue damage and macular degeneration. Sales staff somewhat nice on the plus side I will say. read more

Good selection and good deals! Every time I come to Sanibel, I stop there to look at their bathing suit selections. Although many of their suits are sold separately, meaning you buy the top and the bottoms separately, they always have a few sections where you can buy both as a set. They are discounted/on sale. When you buy them separately, you can buy different sizes for top and bottom. When you buy them as a set, you have to choose S, M, L or XL. I usually hate shopping for bathing suits, but I always find a couple that I love. The sets I've bought were priced $19.99 or $29.99. That is much cheaper a that buying them separately. And there is always a helpful lady to help with your selection or to give you an honest opinion on how you look in a suit. It always surprises me...I live close to Daytona Beach, but I have to come to Sanibel to buy my bathing suits! read more

Horrible racist experience. Paid for a $17 item with a credit card and was asked for identification. Next person that paid also paid with a credit card also purchased a small item with a credit card but was treated with respect and never asked for identification. I don't normally sense these type of social injustices, but this one was so obvious I just had to post about it. Never ever purchase from this place!! You will regret it! We come here every year (3 years and counting) and the staff has always been kind. This year they were SO rude for absolutely no reason. Very aggressive attitude and had no desire to give welcoming customer service. We love the attire they sell, but it is a shame that kindness is not within their character. read more

Mango bay is over priced and it's like a maze in there. With so many things to sell it is overwhelming and air conditioning was leaking which is not a good sign. Customer service was okay not that many people go there but just for a regular shirt it was $40.00. That is expensive for a shirt I have to say. read more

Extremely rude staff. The old blonde lady with short hair should be fired. I came into purchase an 800 dollar board, she kicked me out for bringing my baby in the store without a mask on her. She didn't even give me an opportunity to put one on her she just told us to leave. On the way out, she was harassing us saying "Good luck shopping with your daughter in Sanibel ".My daughter just turned 3 last week, trust me masks and toddlers don't mix well. I have been on the island 6 days so far and not a single business or restaurant has said a word about her not wearing a mask. She just turned 3 she barely even weighs 30 pounds!! My career is in the service industry and I'm actually the lady who takes care of complaints for a major restaurant chain. This womans behavior was absolutely unacceptable. read more

I never leave a bad review, but after my interactions with the customer service over the past few days, I feel obligated to share. My mother, who lives here on the island, warned me against coming to this store, because of the poor customer service. However, I had no bathing suits and needed somewhere local to grab a few. While trying them on, the women helping me told me to slide the ones I had tried on under the door and she would send more in, as they have a 4 item limit. I sat in there naked for 10 minutes before getting redressed and doing it all myself. I wouldn't have minded that, had they not told me that I should stay undressed and wait. Awful. read more

The customer service at this store is horrendous. The cashier that was ringing up our transaction got frustrated because we asked her to void two transactions. She started throwing the merchandise around right in front of our faces. When I asked to speak to the manager she needed to make a point that she had to void the transaction TWICE. This was extremely unprofessional and unnecessary. We were tourists and were treated horribly. The manager did apologize to me and I told her that the entire transaction and the way the cashier acted was extremely uncalled for. read more
