They then proceeded to continue their private conversation. We looked around and my daughter tried something on. And she decided to get the shorts. I would have tried on multiple swimsuits but I was over listening to their conversation. Another group walked in and they instantly told them they were closing in 8 minutes. Listen I get it, you are closing, but come on. You are a tiny store with an average price of $100. If someone comes in and you MIGHT have to stay 5 minutes past closing one night be deal. It's just rude. It's a vacation town, it'a summer, I understand they don't have control over the stupid early time they close but you could also just help and be friendly to the customers you have. I won't go back in, disappointed the captiva store closed.

Also, a lot of super cute stuff- both Florida & surfer branded as well as just cute beachy brands. I was not expecting this in a Surf Style store. Of course there's all the cheesy knick knacks too like magnets, snow globes, shells, glasses and others. Those were as expected: not high quality but higher price. And again, if you needed beach stuff they have towels, chairs, beach toys, sunscreen, goggles, and even coolers. In a pinch you could have an easy fix coming here.

We swung in this gift shop on the way back to grab some souvenirs for the family. The place is super nice and the staff was great. The prices were not driven up to take advantage of tourists. They were actually great prices! I'm originally from Daytona/Orlando so I know 100% about how tourists are taken advantage of a lot of times. So we picked up a few extra things. They had a great hat sale going on so we grabbed some of those as well. When we got to the counter to pay there was some confusion about the price of the hats. There was no big deal made about it and we continued purchasing the hats. We get it. Mistakes happen. The owner happened to be listening and stepped in. He immediately expressed his concern for the confusion and took my wife and myself back to the hat area and gave us each a hat of our choice. We politely refused but he insisted. In case you don't know Sanibel was decimated by a hurricane in 2022. Literally wiped out. For this guy to make sure things were square with us even though we never asked nor expected anything showed us the true spirit of the locals after what they have been through. When I called the owner told me to send photos, which I promptly sent. have not heard back and he will not respond to calls or texts. He has zero integrity!!!! He said he doesn't ship, ok fine, I suggested sending them back or reimbursing me for just one tee shirt, I would live with the other but now could not give them as gifts, which I had intended. needless to say, I am disgusted and disappointed. I hope they go out of business or get washed away in the next hurricane. either way, please don't shop there!!!!
