do not buy insurance in manhattan life health solutions!!!!! they start selling you a great insurance and telling you wrong information about the first payment due and cancelation policies, all to sell you the insurance and after that, when you call the incompetent people of customer service, you find out is all wrong, they tell you different things and trying to collect money before the dates you agree on....my husband and i have to change our debit card cause our bank account was compromise due to this people take it from your account at any time . do**not**trust**this people at all when we want to cancel they tell us we have until the end of the month, and after the hell we have been throu, when we call to cancel, the "agent" told us it was not until the end of the month, but before that....in other words, we lost 1100.00usd for the incompetence of the people that works in customer service...including supervisors and useless managers that never pick up the phone or answer a phone call. fortunately, we now have the best insurance with competent and professional people that took care of us read more

Avoid Manhattan Life; they won't pay on a death claim. Just stay away. Everything we have as a family, including death certificates, was submitted and excuse after excuse. They want us to provide humanly impossible things and they know it. It's just the game they play. read more

Full open access to all medical records are required. Monthly submissions (specifically written) by MD are required. I am self employed so I had to purchase commercial. The Sales Rep did their job, essentially making me think it was a good health plan for my basic preventative needs. Come to find out, after paying a lot on premiums, they covered NOTHING as I still had to pay out of pocket for copays and am now stuck with high medical bills, on the back end. read more

Do not I repeat do not buy a short term disability policy from these thieves. The agent whom signed me up name is Allen Wolfer. Initially I was told that I would start receiving benefits after being out for 15 days with the proper documentation. I have been paying into this policy since 2012 and never had to use it until recently. I had prostate surgery and when I looked into my policy and called Manhattan life about my payouts. I was told I would have to be out of work 30 days and they will not start paying until after an additional 30 days later. So that 60 days until first payment. When I called I was told that Allen Wolfer penciled in 30 days after he bated me with a 15 day payout term. This agent and this company are crooks and will lie to get your business. Rewrite the conditions of your policy payout and continue to take your monthly payments. Buyers beware do not buy from this company. read more

My aunt had a cancer policy with Manhatten since 1988. She was diagnosed with cancer in Dec, 2023 and died in Feb 2024. She paid for this policy for over 35 YEARS, and they have not paid a dime. They keep telling us to send the pathology report, which we have sent numerous times. We even sent it by certified mail, and they still keep saying we didn't send it. So now we're probably going to have to hire an attorney. Save your money and get a policy from another insurance carrier. I'll update this review if anything changes, but I'm not optimistic. read more

I have the short term disability insurance. If you like resubmitting and resubmitting the same forms With no end in sight, then this is the insurance for you. Trying to get claim continuation payment- 4 th time my Surgeon has submitted the same form. Hopefully fourth time is the charm. I needed surgery where recovery would take 6-8 weeks. Two late mortgages and over 800$ in medical copayments later; I've still yet to have my shortterm disability claim pushed through. Their upper Management ( which btw has no direction in an actual representative, with contact information) to help troubleshoot medical requests to expedite claim/approval, to then disperse my funds are inaccessible. There were four medical offices I have where Manhattan life claims states they are waiting on pending medical records( which if they don't hzve in 30 days- the claim has to be resubmitted). The thing that's ( not funny haha) is I've been to all follow-up appointments ( for all four listed doctors offices on claim)and have called my doctors during said requests and MY DOCTORS OFFICE PERSONELLE HAVE ALL CONFIRMED THAT NO SUCH REQUESTS WERE MADE!!!When I asked for proof of requests in hardcopy form, they said through reps(who are a third party/and sold me this shortterm disability that it's all done by emails)and they can only send correspondence as a middle person on my behalf. I even had the middleman wave a request fee on one of my medical offices and had records sent/where four days later they sent letter/s in mail that-that particular doctors office-was on the list of providers ( including all the other clinics I listed) of them not releasing requested medical records. Buyers beware and just go with Aflac. I'm already at tailend of recovering with stitches removed and complications that might need additional time off before returning to work, where, two pension loans later(under my belt) has left me in serious financial hardship....CONSUMERS BEWARE-DONT BUY MANHATTAN LIFE INSURANCE...!!! I'm still waiting on this circular circumstance and feel like a mouse on a spin wheel, unwell, in financial hardship and unable to afford legal counsel to address this company on the matter.
