The location is near nice shoping and dining destinations. Some negatives.. Overall the hotel restaurants are too expensive . Shangri-La, you already got me with the room rates so let up on the dining prices. I suggest skip the fancy seafood buffet. It was ridiculous how you need to order a tiny lobster one by one and wait something like a half hour for it to be cooked. If you are a drinker like I am, stay away from the lobby piano and bar area. Service was too slow, drinks aren't stiff enough and the prices are too high. The swimming pool is on a roof which sounds cool but the sun was blazing hot. Not enough shaded seats. For that matter not enough seats in general. Also the cement around the pool is extremely slippery when wet. I slipped and almost threw a hip out trying to regain my balance. Be careful.

But if you have the time hit the sage grill for the Wagyu burger, much juicer and actually cheaper. Sage Bar... Nice interior and again super friendly and attentive staff. Wagyu burger with fries was very good. Cooked perfectly and was very juicy. A solid choice. I thought the burger was good but the pork belly was just as good. The apple marmalade was a great addition. Circles... Very large buffet that had all kinds of options. We usually went for breakfast but everything from eggs to sushi fish head and some regional dishes. It's located in Makati City... close to many malls, clubs, bars and restaurants but far enough for it to cost a reasonable price. Their rooms are of good and adequate sizing, with a comfortable bed, TV and decent toilet and bath. The only downside is their breakfast which isn't great at all.. but then again, for the price you're paying, I don't think you should expect much. And besides, they have so many restaurants around it that you can just grab some food elsewhere.

The spa was advertised to us at the reception upon checking in, only to find out later that they closed the spa since covid. One thing that stood out, the poor service from the receptionists. The cafe staff we interacted with are so snobby and didn't seem like they know what they're doing. We asked for one thing about the menu before sitting, and she demanded for our room number to give the answer. When we checked in, the receptionist said the breakfast buffet would be 600php, we didn't decide then because we wanna see what's on the menu first. Upon checking in the morning, the breakfast fee has gone up to 950php. Basically, they want you to decide right there and then when you check in haha. Also, we booked an airport shuttle service through the same receptionist upon check in, to ensure we can be at the airport at 2am for our flight. We were on time, headed to the lobby, only to find out the the receptionist booked our shuttle service for 4am instead. Mind you, they asked for 1400php fee for this service. They wanted us to wait for the earliest shuttle they can call (to arrive in 20mins) since they already booked for one. The receptionist even asked for our flight details, as if they know any better. We demanded a refund and good thing they gave it. We just booked a grab (uber in the Philippines) and the driver arrived in 2 mins. The ride fee is only 300php compared to the hotel's fee. Way worth it to get a grab and tip the driver. Overall, wouldn't come back to this hotel. You could get a better hotel, better location, better service for a better price.

It's not ultra modern and flashy but I like it even better because of that. There's a lot of wood in this hotel which makes it more Filipino in a sense. From the outside, it looks like a huge old Filipino house. The rooms are spacious and complete with amenities. They have kitchens so you can practice your culinary skills during your stay. If your kitchen skills is not that good then just go to their restaurant or head over to Robinson's Forum which is just a few minutes away. The rooms don't have windows so some may find it a bit claustrophobic but they are well lighted to compensate for the lack of natural light. The hotel is built over an incline so you'll need to walk uphill a bit if you're given a room that's away from the entrance. On the plus side, the rooms farther from the entrance gets more solitude since tricycles abound in the area and even though the sound is muffled, you can still hear them in the rooms near the entrance.

There is an sense of leisure and elegance as soon as you step into the doors of the hotel. While some of the staff are students of Benilde undergoing practicum, one does not get the sense that the place is run by non-professionals. The staff, including the guards, are eager to please. They would even press the elevator buttons for you. My friend who has "staycationed" in Hotel Benilde loved the hotel's strong Wifi connection, clean and still sparkling new rooms, and buffet breakfast. Meanwhile, as I've only attended a few functions in the hotel and gone on private tours of the rooms (which they happily accommodate by request--perhaps depending on the availability of staff), I can only comment at how attentive the staff are, how clean and fragrant the toilets, and how goood (!!!) the food is. Overnight stay costs as low as Php 1,200 per person for their dormitory rooms. Cost includes buffet breakfast. If yoi're not worried about breaking the bank, the Presidential Suite may be perfect for you, at Php 15,000 per night.

I have stayed in Hotel Benilde for at least thrice now and every one of them was amazing. I love how their rooms are very well-lit and in just the right size. I apologise for having something against dimly-lit, humongous hotel rooms which make me feel that someone's going to jump from nowhere and murder you. Yes, my imagination is better thank my justifications skills. I especially love their blankets, they are super crisp and very comfortable. I would love to snuggle in them all day. There's also a chair beside the window that I love to sit on while watching TV. They also have the Café Romancon on the ground floor where you can get good food. It's a little on the pricier side (depending on what you order) but it does not disappoint. Tip: If you're a Benildean, I believe you can get a discount on the rooms. I would suggest you check that with the Administration first, I am not sure if that is still being offered.

I noticed that in all my and my friends' rooms, there is more than enough space to put another bed - or even two, perhaps. The lobby is elegant but simple and cozy - my friends and I hung out here too. Our rooms also include breakfast, particularly Pinoy breakfasts of tapsilog, bangsilog, and more. The room rates start at around P2,500+. The staff are friendly and efficient. It was quite pleasant talking with them. What is also nice about Orion Hotel is its location. For those taking the PNR to Tutuban (which is what some of my friends did), Orion is just a short walk away from the station. And of course, since you're in Tutuban, that means cheap clothes. My friends and I were able to shop for some really good finds there.

I have been happy overall with the staff, security and the cleanliness of the hotel and its rooms with the following caveats: the walls in between the rooms are paper thin; their housekeeping works and cleans room and floor even in the wee hours of the morning; the room door slams shut and worse of all, the guests don't respect your right to sleep peacefully. In other words, expect for all kinds of noise to help keep you awake instead of resting and sleeping. For those reasons, I have given this hotel a 3 star rating. I'm planning to cut short my stay as having been awakened nightly is getting on my nerves!
