My rating is based solely on one thing... airport leadership…read more I never caught the guy's name, but I'm sure you all know who I am taking about. Long story short, I had a flight to ORD that was diverted to MSP and we had to deplane and leave to hotels outside of the airport. Upon returning to the airport roughly 6 hours later, security did not have an active flight entry to reference. So after walking for 20 minutes to get to security, the TSA agent said I needed to go back to the American Airlines counter to have them generate a physical ticket. So as I am walking out, I am met by this gentleman who can be best described as an undercover Miami cop with the charisma of someone who isn't afraid to make his presence known. He gave me one direction, "follow me and act like you're supposed to be here." I didn't understand the message until he started moving people and going through lanes and checks without really explaining anything to me or the others he was moving. He escorted me all the way to the American Airlines counter and had me cut in front of dozens of other passengers. When the issue was resolved, he walked me through the long security lines and had me jump again to the front, where they scanned me in and I was soon at the gate. The dude was courteous and cool and the whole ordeal took less time than it took to get me through security.

Stopped in on a layover and I thought the areas we stuck to were l good…read more The bathrooms were clean and stocked with paper and soap. The food options were good. We decided to have a snack-fries and beer cheese (always YES!), a double water on the rocks, and a beer. The only complaint we had was the drivers transporting people throughout the airport. Those vehicles were fast moving and came up real close as we were making our way around. I don't necessarily expect to see that many of those traveling around. It felt like a very serious accident waiting to happen. Be weary of them and get out of the way fast.

I am a busy mom of 7 who has been looking forward to traveling alone for the first time in 23…read moreyears. I reserved a Land to Air shuttle ticket for Wednesday, 3/19, around 8 AM. Bad weather is moving in tomorrow (I get it) and I received a phone call today that all shuttles are cancelled for tomorrow. I was told that I'll have an account opened in my name and credit will be issued. I disagreed that was a good idea and was told my request would be "passed to corporate." The only credit I can give the company is that "corporate" called me and stated that my credit can be used for 12 months from today. I stated that I disagreed with this policy and do not plan to use this credit. I don't understand how they can justify this. Drivers won't be clocking in tomorrow, no gas is being used on these shuttles, and I'm not just scrambling to change my travel plans, I'm baffled that a small business in the Midwest would think non-refundable is the way to go when THEY decide to cancel the shuttle. Read the other reviews below because I'm not the only person who's been in this position. I'm not planning to travel again on Land to Air again and they can keep the "credit" on my account. I've had my money's worth sharing my experience honestly. Get a friend to drive you to the airport instead!

BUYER BEWARE!! Be prepared for poor customer service!…read moreI recently made a trip to MN, and had a reservation from the Minneapolis airport to St Peter. I arrived at the waiting area 30 minutes prior to the departure time, and checked in with the desk agent by name (so he knew I was there). At the departure time, there was NO loud announcement for loading like they usually do. And then, without me knowing it, THE SHUTTLE LEFT WITHOUT ME! Even though the desk agent saw me in the waiting area, where I had been the whole time. After repeated attempts, I was finally talking to someone from Land to Air, and was on the next shuttle, a 2 hour wait. I was issued a voucher, which I agreed to take, thinking I could cancel my outbound reservation and use the voucher instead. When I tried cancel my existing reservation to use the voucher, I found out that reservations can't be cancelled. The problem with the voucher is that I no longer have a reason to travel to St Peter, as the family I was visiting is moving away. So I won't have a chance to use the voucher. I contacted Land to Air and explained the situation to the agent that answered the phone, and asked for a refund to my credit card. Instead of great customer service to a loyal and frequent customer, I was told that it is policy to never refund any ticket, or in this case, a voucher. Apparently it is a policy that provides no flexibility for meeting the needs of customers. No exceptions, no matter what. In the past I had used Land to Air a lot, and my daughters had used Land to Air when they were attending college in Mankato. We had always received great customer service until now. WHAT A DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE. :-(

Flying Cloud is a public airport located in Eden Prairie (Hennepin County) and covers 543 acres…read moreover 3 runways. Back in the my early years, my Family drove through old Shakopee (past the grain elevator) and up and past the Flying Cloud Airport on our way to the Twin Cities. We would even stop to look around and marvel at this geographically interesting location (and an old ski area down the hill). The airport was created in 1941 when the United States Navy was training pilots for World War II. The Navy made arrangements with a local farmer, Martin "Pappy" Grill, to use a grass landing strip. Pilots flying from Wold-Chamberlain Airport, now Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, would use this field for practicing approaches. After the war, Grill sold the field and some adjoining land and the field was named "Flying Cloud Airport" to reflect local Indian lore and flying. The Metropolitan Airports Commission bought the airport in 1948 and paved the runway. A control tower in 1963. By 1966, it was ranked the second-busiest airport in the central United States behind Chicago-O'Hare International Airport. In 1968, it was the ninth-busiest airport in the United States. Today it is designated by the FAA as a reliever airport and aircraft are restricted to 60,000 pounds or less, except in an emergency situation or when operated by the U.S. Government. And because of the airport's proximity to the Valleyfair amusement park, the rides are restricted in height by FAA regulations.
