As done several times before, we booked a standard cabin at the 'Manning Park Resort', for our 4-night stay in 'Manning Provincial Park' last week. For us, the cabin was perfect -- with no accommodation surprises, same type and design as we have become accustomed to, and everything in working order. And we sure loved its location - with its more than ample space out front, and in back, to enjoy all the sights and sounds. The standard cabins have two bedrooms - one with a single, double bed, and the other, with two, twin-sized bunks. Plus, a hide-a-bed sofa in the living room. A well-equipped kitchen, with full-size fridege and electric range, microwave oven, coffee maker, toaster, and long, dining table. Like last year year, the Resort's 'Recreation Centre' was closed. Apparently, staff were working on renovations and such to some of the amenities. A slight disappointment for us, but we had thought it might still be closed due to Covid-19 concerns, so not a huge surprise. Some interesting surprise experiences during our stay though: -- on one day, two large helicopters used the field out front as a base to organize and conduct a search / rescue operation. Several people and dogs were involved, and several flights made to/from the areas being covered. A touch noisy, but sure interesting to watch the activities. -- on the next day, black bears decided to visit - their interests entered on the bbq & garbage container area directly out front from our cabin. We watched (outside from our picnic table) three separate visits over the course of the day, by both adult and younger bears. The colours and sizes of the bears indicated we saw at least three adult bears, and two younger ones. Our very first sighting of any bears there, and we got to watch at least five!! My camera could not do justice to the views, but the sights were rather exciting! 'Manning Park Resort' once again provided a wonderful stay. And the cabin itself, was truly our 'home-away-from -home' for the days spent in the Park. We sure enjoyed the time spent there, and as usual hated to see the time pass by so quickly, and our stay come to an end. read more

We attended a wedding at Manning Park Resort and stayed in a standard cabin which was supposed to be four bunk beds and a queen in a separate room. We ended up getting two bunk beds in a queen in one room and a queen in another room which worked out great with our kids. The cabins are comfortable except for there's no air conditioning in the cabins or even in the lodge. So keep that in mind if staying in the summer. There was a fan provided but only one for the whole entire room at night. It did cool off so we'd open up the windows to cool off the cabin. There was a strange smell, probably from the previous people's cooking in the cabin which was unpleasant for the first day. read more

Was looking forward to staying here as we always stop by on our way past but have never stayed. Checked in with a robotic and unfriendly man. Checked out with his younger version. No "how was your stay ?" or anything. Pool and hotbtub looked questionable so didn't use. Room was fine - very basic motel room. Not giving "resort" vibes. Outside to lodge was all torn up and under construction. Pub closed. Restaurant seemed more like a cafeteria with waitresses -zero ambiance or charm. Seafood chowder was good. Beef dip was enjoyed but fries were tasteless and oily and same with the unsalted unseasoned yam fries. Overpriced for mid week off season. . Won't be back read more

I'm so glad to stay this resort even last minutes booking. My coworker and me used Travel Zoo website for autumn gateway package $118/1 night at two Queen beds room with $40 dinner voucher. Check in was quite smooth and had good rest after long hiking. I wished there is a coffee maker or electronic kettle to make a coffee in the room. Because the store near the restaurant opens at 8am and it's kinda late to grab a coffee for leaving early morning hike. The price range in the restaurant and store is same as city. Not like in Whistler. All stuffs are very friendly and I'd like to come back. P.S indoor pool is closed for Covid 19. read more

We've driven past here many times and always wanted to stay here. In November 2021 we were lucky enough to get a room here after multiple highway closures, back tracking and 10 hours of driving. We called from Hope and secured a room, the staff were friendly and efficient and empathetic. Due to the unusual circumstances, the resort went above and beyond to get all rooms up and operating to accommodate as many people as they could. Upon check in we were saddened to see that despite the resorts best efforts they simply couldn't accommodate everyone who was walking in that needed a room. The staff were gracious and understanding and offered use of their washrooms and their common areas. We were assigned a junior suite 2 queen room in the main lodge, the room was large, clean, comfortable and could use a few updates. The beds were clean and comfortable. We were very comfortable here for the night. We would absolutely come back to this resort to explore this area in the future and make use of all their facilities. We would likely try the cabins next time simply for a little more silence of people coming and going from their rooms but know that there is nothing wrong with the rooms and the beds are quite comfortable! We only spent one night here but this resort accommodated many stranded people for several days, thank you Manning Park Resort for taking care of people on such short notice - we will be back! read more

This place is not even deserving of the one star. 0/5. I had booked a room for one night. I was going to be late so I cancelled and was promised a full refund after I was charged when I wasn't supposed to be charged at all until check in anyway and was charged without my permission. I was nervous about the charge still so I showed up late anyway and was told that my room wasn't available, they were fully booked but was still being told that I'd get a full refund. I contacted again about it was told I never should have been charged in the first place so they'd escalate the issue and work on that refund. I contacted again and was now told it was non refundable. Which was told to me again the next time I contacted. I then emailed trying for better assistance explaining my situation; I was promised a refund multiple times, charged without my permission and not given a room when I showed up. I live a nomad lifestyle and need to stretch my dollar. I can't afford to have paid for rooms at two different hotels for the same night. Winter is coming and I need a roof over my head. They however, were sold out and did not need the extra money. They got paid twice for the same room. They're thieves and charge your card without permission and refuse to give back the stolen money. I have contacted my bank to try to assist and will contact the police if I have to and highly recommend anyone else in the same situation do the same. Plus, when I showed up there the two bathrooms were closed and the one open was very messy and needed to be cleaned a week ago. Overall, I do not recommend. Hope Inn and Suites is a forty minute drive away but they were able to accommodate us with the late notice. Worth going there instead. read more

The only upside to this experience was the weather. The trip started out arriving and they did not have our reservation to stay at one of the cabins despite having a phone call confirming two days prior and with a confirmation email with confirmation code in hand. After patiently waiting for 30 minutes for a manger and working with him we found out (another 20 minutes later) that they had changed the reservation to someone with a different name. After an hour of arriving we checked into the cabin which was quite unclean. Hairs in bathtub and one of the cabinets in the kitchen had collapsed and the door fallen off. In the bedroom some of the bunk bed sheets were stained as well. The tv also did not work at all, the entirety of the two day stay, Yet we tried to make the best the situation as we did not come for the tv and brought some of our own cleaning supplies as we travel with kids. The next day we went to the ski hill as we bought a pay and play package to find it only had one chair lift going and had around an hour or so wait most likely due to staffing shortage, but really wearing on us at this point as it was a Monday not expecting large lines. This was adding to frustration with the resort. The high point of the stay was the Nordic Centre Staff which were great and helped us change to a snow shoe package from the ski package. Very friendly staff in Nordic but unfortunately due to Arcane process had me go back and forth to the front desk three time to get the paperwork needed to change the the package. Next fail for the resort was the small store on the premises was not open during stated hours and was closed early due to likely staffing shortage but no signs letting us know. The final headache is leaving they have now charged us almost double as since they kept the deposit and charged us for two nights above the deposit. For a week I have been calling and emailing with my receipts to get the bill corrected but all I have gotten back was a poorly worded email, that did not address the issue and can not get anyone to answer the phone. Bottom line do not go here any time soon. The place maybe ok after staffing shortages resolve but I will never come back as the experience has been a complete letdown. read more

The ski hill was really fun. The two chairlifts are slow and old but that really adds to the charm. At 2 and a half hours from Vancouver it's close enough for a day trip if you want. Although there are accommodations. read more

This business is a prime example of a business fail! I cancelled my wedding here due to lack of emails, too many poor excuses for not getting back to me, they just don't seem to care? I told Brent from the start, I have high standards for the best service, what a joke.. I got nothing but excuses and stories about children's parties and other venues, that didn't pertain to my wedding plans at all!! When i asked them in an email if they wanted my business, due to me and wife concern, they told me, I threatened them (maybe you shouldn't take 10 days to reply!), but took 30 minutes to get an email, when i cancelled my plans!! updated interior of standard cabin was nice,but not super clean. location is excellent for hiking,kayaking or skiing. This is Not resort type grounds or services. during our stay we had multiple dump trucks going past our cabin and kicking up lots dust,(everyday from 730 am to 4 pm)wifi is basically none existing,hot tub jets not working,power went off and on more than a few times. if you want an over priced Rustic experience go enjoy...If you're thinking Resort go somewhere else! read more

If you want to experience the world's worst customer service, call this place and maybe stay here. If for whatever reason you cannot keep your reservation, they don't tell you this (hidden in an email apparently), but you lose all your money. On top of that, they're just mean people. do you not care about the customer and that is very obvious. Read the fine print to stay at the hotel. You must give a 30 day cancellation for your room or they charge you the deposit. I only booked it for one night, so the deposit was the entire amount. I tried to cancel it 27 days before our date, and they would offer no help. They did offer to change it to another date, but that is not true customer service. Yes, she was kind, but still did not do what I would've expected somebody to do to keep a customer. I booked it over the phone, so I had no way of knowing about the deposit being nonrefundable inside of a 30 day window. read more

My daughter decided on MPR as a location for her recent wedding and we were extremely thrilled with her decision after the event. We were able to gather two families in a stunning location and enjoy the weekend. Our premium cabin was well stocked with a large fridge, gas stove and necessary kitchen supplies. We brought large bowls and pots because we knew we had a crowd to serve. The cabin served as a gathering place for rehearsal dinner, cocktail hour as well as a staging area for the bride and bride's maids. The hospitality manager went out of her way to accommodate us and truly went above and beyond when we ran into glitches that was no fault of the MPR staff. Brent answered all our questions and concerns leading up to the wedding and coordinated a seamless day. The bridal party enjoyed the adventures on the bus with Mike acting as tour operator, guide and entertainer. Hailey- Banquet and events- connected with our group and seemed to anticipate every question and request. The dinner was fantastic and the guests spoke highly of the meal, even while the last table was called to the buffet there was no shortage of entrees, sides and salads. Overall our experience was amazing and we appreciate the effort to make our special day so wonderful. read more

The Manning Park area is absolutely gorgeous. We came for snowshoeing and we're not disappointed. We stayed in one of the Standard Cabins at the resort. Upon checking the clerk receives a zero in personality. We arrived early, didn't even bother asking our name just advised check in is at 4. Using my friendly manner I asked if we could check if cabin would be ready earlier. Now to the condition of the cabin. Upon first sight, super cute and rustic. The ceiling is gorgeous, wood and beams. Looked cozy and comfortable enough. Then came evening... Our mattress was bouncy and baggy. No mattress cover and flat sheet on bottom which came off at the slightest movement. Then tried bunk beds, horrible just the same. Horrible worn out pillows. The sheets are thin and course.Didn't sleep well for 2 nights. The TV is a 1970 model which gave channels..sometimes..mostly pixelated screen. Furniture worn, kitchen had no fan, not even paper towels . The living room chandelier has 2 out 5 bulbs working. When the furnace goes on you just about fall out of your chair it's so loud. Did I mention the price is over $300 a night? For us a good night sleep is super important.Our recommendation is management spend a night and see how they enjoy their stay. The pub was decent with good service. Enjoyed it there! read more

I was really happy about this place- until we checked out. I was being charged for my dog. From my understanding. The charge was already taken care of through Expedia. However, it surprised me that the girl insisted that it wasn't. Unfortunately, the Wifi here is so lousy that checking anything online is tedious. The rooms are okay- they'll work for everyone who needed a place to sleep for the night. It was winter when we visited- very cold. There are no other places to eat- so be prepared to eat whatever food they offer close by. Coffee- if you're coffee addict, too bad for you. You're in the middle of nowhere so go to the only place where they sell coffee or make your own in your room. The star of this place is the pool. It's clean and the chlorine doesn't linger. It's also close to the ski resort which is why we stayed. Beautiful place (not the hotel) - full of foreigner employees from New Zealand. Heads up- you're in Canada. read more

Location is wonderful -- clean air & water, but the resort itself seems a bit tired. Little things needing maintenance like the hair/hand dryer in the women's change room at Loon Lagoon to the lack of information in the rooms. And the staff seemed weary (except for the loud ones in the hallway outside your door). We arrived for a 3 day XC skiing vacay, and had to hunt for info for everything as there is no info in the rooms regarding the shuttle to the ski trails, how to find the ski trails around the lodge -- simple maps of the layout of the grounds with clearly marked entrances to the XC ski trails would be most helpful. Menus for the dining room & pub would also be helpful. The staff at the desk know nothing about XC so you must go to the Nordic Centre, which opens at the same time as the first shuttle, so it's impossible to get an early start, and enjoy the fresh snow before the groups of learners destroy the classic tracks and leave the hills so hard-packed & lumpy, it's not enjoyable at all trying to ski down the steeper hills safely. They should ask XC skiers to reset their sitz marks and repair the tracks they mess up as a courtesy to other skiers, as most other XC skiing destinations do in their signage. The resort could post this info, or at the very least encourage it in their brochures and by their ski XC group leaders. Brochures/maps could also be improved by having shuttle times and washroom facilities clearly marked. There is only 15 minutes of free wifi daily, and don't bother turning it off after you check for current conditions or other info about the resort that you can't find in the room because it will not allow you to log in again even if you haven't used all of the 15 minutes. And if you do decide out of frustration to buy the 24hrs of free wifi, beware that it may not work in your room and you may have to go down to the lounge where the connection us better. In which case, you'll probably save yourself 30 minutes of trying to contact the front desk on the phone from your room. If you want to use the pool, you will get to the locked door where the sign tells you that you need a key, and when you go back to fetch the key from the front desk you have to ask for towels for the pool, as they don't offer any and you may end up fully in your suit & ready to jump into the pool before you realize there are no towels to be had at the Lone Lagoon. The satellite TV channels have no guide or menu, so you can't know what's playing if you decide to watch something. There's no movies available, and no DVD player to hook up to the flat screen. Would help if they had a small library of movies and books and a DVD player or two that could be reserved and used by guests. On a brighter note, the food at the Pinetree was excellent -- carrot ginger soup and fresh breads, and burgers served piping hot with crispy yam fries. So, if you go to Manning Resort, be sure to bring a good book, and prepare to happily give up wifi for a few days. You can use your spare time to hunt for information at the resort as to how best enjoy your time outdoors, which is really the best place to be! read more

This review is for the downhill ski area. There are two chairlifts. One is closed mid-week and opens on Friday. For lucky skiers who arrive Friday morning, there's a week's worth of fresh powder to shred on Friday morning. Yeah! Super easy to park right next to the lodge which allows you to lose that hot sweater if the sun comes out. Food at the lodge is typical ski area fare served with a friendly attitude. My girlfriend and I stayed here about a month ago and it is a nice resort however for 200 bucks plus cost of wifi a night, you get absolutely no customer service and the rooms are no better than at your local Ramada. We were so excited to get away for the weekend that we arrived at noon when check in was at 4pm (check out is at 11am so don't expect your 200 dollars to buy you 20 hrs with your room) When I went to see if we could check in early, the concierge told me to come back at 4 in a very annoyed tone. She didn't offer to take our bags, didn't offer us access to the games room or pool, didn't even give us an idea of what we can do to kill 4 hrs in secluded manning park. I was just shooed away like an insect. When checking out, I wanted to express my complaints, however the concierge didn't even ask how our stay was. Once again, I was just shooed away. The next day I called and left a message with the GM to voice my complaints, however I still haven't heard back. I feel my getaway weekend with my gf was completely ruined by this resort's horrible staff and neither of us ever plan to return. read more

Worst customer service. They told us they didn't have a room but didn't tell us about the hostel across the street. They told us where the visitor center was, but didn't bother to tell us it was closed. They are very nice to hikers though with a game room and anyone can use the pool. read more
