The price was incredible for an entire cabin to yourself; equipped with a shower, bathroom, kitchen, fridge, stove, and natural gas heater that quickly and efficiently heats up the area. There was a little table and chairs, lots of electrical outlets, and a TV! The owners are very friendly and neighborly. They have covid protocols in place and the cabin was perfectly clean upon entry. There are multiple restaurants around the area. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and even a bar open until 1 AM. We drove to nearby cities (1 to 2 hour drives in either direction) and the landscape is absolutely gorgeous in the winter. I can't recommend this business enough! I will be bringing my friends here when covid is over for a week long trip! The bathroom is very small and doesn't have a mirror; the stove is small; cutlery and plates are offered in the cupboards; what I'm trying to say is, don't expect fancy. It's a cabin, not a chalet or a resort. The basic necessities are provided; it's warm, it's dry, it's cozy. You might feel just in between "roughing it" and being in a hotel. My friends aren't big fans of camping in the middle of nowhere without washrooms like I am, so this is a good balance of rustic wilderness and comfort.

We arrived around 11pm and as we tried to book the room our bank account was frozen (online banking maintenance, terrible timing go figure) so Raymond allowed us to stay and pay in the morning. Early in the morning my husband left to try and get our truck unstuck with a nice man. They left at 6am and by 9am I still hadn't heard from my husband. I was a nervous wreck to say the least and wasn't sure when he would return. I told Raymond and asked for a late check out. Customer service has declined precipitously over the last decade. This place is run to the vast exclusion of all other fishing opportunities on the ranch. Nevertheless, the biggest fish in Stoney Lake are no bigger than medium-sized (3-4lbs), if that. The sister lake, Minnie Lake, is far, far worse. What used to be one of the premier trophy lakes in the province has been turned into an unmitigated disaster by the latest manager in charge of Fishing & Rec at the DLR. He is a self appointed expert (in all things fishing), and has taken on the role of deciding how to stock the two lakes - despite the fact that he has no training and no clue what he is doing. The result? Massive overstocking, a lake full of tiny tiddlers, and sick and starving fish. These lakes will never recover until a few years after they finally fire the manager. He should focus more on promoting himself on social media - constantly putting out films of himself getting spooled by 2-pounders, calling 3-pounders "hogs" and "slabs", and killing fish with his throat pumping technique. Find another venue if you value your time and $$. There are several other fishing resorts that will value you as a customer a short drive from this one. Drive there.

When I tried to inquire about booking( with only 2 months before expiration) they did not mention that I had 2 months left but said they would be happy to assist when I would be ready to book.
