The land was later purchased (1917) by Frank Ball, of the Ball Jar Company and became part of his estate. The shop is filled with Indiana themed items that you can't find anywhere else. They have wonderful Bob Ross themed gifts, books, paint kits and even wigs if you want to do Bob Ross impersonations. Another shelf is full of Ball jars and assorted canning equipment. There were even lovely, hand crafted earrings made from old Ball jars. Local Amish popcorn and other Indiana goodies filled shelves. Garden decor and narwhal themed toys were featured. A clerk welcomed us as we entered and offered assistance. Supposedly they sell sandwiches, but I didn't see a counter for them. I did see a freezer with ice cream bars. Patio seating with umbrellas were in an outdoor area in front. The building is accessible and parking is abundant. This is a perfect shop for Indiana themed gifts.

At one end of the store is a bakery selling fresh donuts, pies and fry cakes. At the other end is a deli, making fresh sandwiches to order. The sandwiches are amazing. I had a turkey and ham sandwich on rye. The sandwich was packed with meat, cheese and fresh toppings. This was the best sandwich that I have had in a long time and it was $3.99. There is no place to eat inside, so you must take your food to go. The staff were friendly and efficient. The cheeses are amazing and flavorful. I picked up horseradish and bacon cheeses. The prices are reasonable. You can even buy chicken coups and outbuildings. There was an extensive collection of bird food and custom feeders. I thought that this liquor store was called The Campus Connection, because those are the words that are painted in red across the entire front of the building. But no, this place is actually called Friendly Package Liquors, and there's a small plaque by the door that tells you that information, in small letters. Friendly is located just down the street from Ball State University, so indeed, it really does have a connection to the campus. The people who work here are super friendly (thank goodness, because of the name of the store), and were ready and willing to help me find what I needed, even though I didn't need any help.

We did not eat at the restaurant, we only bought pies from the restaurant. There is a cooler section in the restaurant with a ton of frozen pie varieties. We bought sugar cream, coconut cream, and pumpkin chess (which I think is basically a sugar cream pie with pumpkin - mmmmmm!). Pie prices are super reasonable - anywhere fro $5-$9. We also bought a fresh banana cream pie that the checkout server had personally baked that morning! Love Wick's Pies and if you're within 45 mins, definitely come here to stock up.
