The food was great. Smash burger was delicious, flavorful, cheesy. The fries are done right. Fresh cut and perfectly fried. I regretted getting the small instead of the large. Service was fast and friendly. Folks remembered your name. The only thing holding it back from a 5-star rating is that it's not exactly the most beautiful place. Not a lot of ambiance. So I walked in here yesterday carrying a menu that I had downloaded which had all these crazy combos you can do to create smoothies. The problem with that? It wasn't even their menu! When I discovered that, I felt bad as that isn't on them, that is on me. I won't lie I was a little disappointed that they only had two smoothies available, a blueberry banana and some sort of coffee? one. I decided that I need to at least give them a chance since I drove in just to have one of their smoothies and, let me tell you, I'm so glad I did! I hesitantly got the blueberry banana smoothie because that isn't usually a flavor combo I would pick. The person at the register (I believe one of the owners) informed me that these are made with fresh fruit and not packed with ice. When I received the smoothie it was very thick so I opted for the spoon that was offered to me. I took one bite and...the verdict? One of the best smoothie's I have EVER had! Not even my 1st, 2nd, 31st choice in a flavor combo but the quality of the ingredients, the granola topping, the richness of the flavor, all of it was incredible! This place never needs to have a different flavor smoothie again and I will be JUST FINE with it. Absolutely amazing and I can't begin to recommend them enough! I'm going to give them 5 stars for the incredible quality of the smoothie, but I will say that I do hope on occasion they rotate in other flavors because if this was THAT good, I can't even imagine how good some of the other possible combos could be. Came here after some escapades at Ball St. A little birdie told me that they were known for paninis and a slick smoothie that was as smooth as a night under the moon with Santana and Rob Thomas. I wanted a salad but they only had two choices. The staff then told me about their secret menu. Apparently they have the famous "Muncie Salad" that's been a staple of the Muncie food scene. A huge bite into that romaine I salivated with fervor wanting more and more. And when the Muncie Goddess dressing nipped my tastebuds I said "Holy Joana, love doesn't even taste this good." read more

They advertise still for EBT and I've never seen the store open since they wrote on their windows. The shelves are picked over. And nobody can keep the corner open to traffic either, so I don't think they're good at anything but quality. They could expand. The place is very casual and there's a grocery market within the place so you can grab a bite to eat and browse to shop as well with a good selection of vegan/vegetarian/sustainable items on shelves. If you're looking to try something different in Muncie this place is worth a try. This was or fist visit to the Downtown Farm Stand and we were pleasantly surprised. Most everything on the menu sounded delicious, but we decided on the Cubano panini and a turkey sandwich with garlic aioli. Both of the sandwiches delicious and made with quality ingredients. While in downtown Muncie, I stopped in for a very enjoyable lunch after finding some free street parking out front. Being my first time here, I was a little confused about the layout and process. The entrance of the store has a variety of products that you might find at a trendy grocery: some products from local artisans, some health foods, and a range of beverages. On the right hand side are some tables for four. In the back, there is a split counter: The left is for check out of grocery items and payment; the right is for ordering food from the menu. I was looking for an overhead menu, but instead, they have laminated menus on the right end of the counter and you can take those back to your table if you need time to review it, or simply place your order. Once I decided, I gave my order at the counter and was told that my food would be delivered to my table. I went with the Italian Chicken Sandwich which is "gourmet Italian balsamic sliced chicken breast" with garlic aioli (YUM!), lettuce avocado, and red onion. It came with a few fruit slices on the side. The wait was brief and the sandwich (on a nice multigrain bread) was really good! The fruit was fresh and ripe, just not much there...more of a palate cleanser. Nothing was said, but watching other customers led me to believe that customers are supposed to buss their own tables when finished. I get it that there were just two people working, but either a sign or some communication about what to expect would have been helpful. I ended up asking for direction on a couple issues which were handled in a friendly manner, so no problems there. I guess they must have regulars who know the way things work. Anyway, once I finished, I went to the counter and told them my name so that they could pull my order and ring up my bill. (Just another difference from the deli's I've been to in Indy where you either pay up front or get a bill brought to the table.) It's kind of quirky, but the food is quite tasty. I took my kids here today for lunch, and everyone absolutely loved their sandwiches. In my opinion, the Chipotle Pork Belly sandwich was the winner among the group. Although the Turkey Bacon Cheddar, The Ham Pepperoni Mushroom, and the Balsamic Chicken White Cheddar with Garlic Aioli were all outstanding. And I sampled them all. I think part of what made the sandwiches so good was the fresh brown bread they were served on. Our service was very slow, and two people were served their food before ours even though we ordered first. When I complained to the manager, he offered to comp our whole meal. I settled on paying half, leaving a generous tip, and buying some groceries before leaving. The food was deserving of five stars and so was the kindness of the manager. Don't try to eat here on a Saturday afternoon. Was not acknowledged for 15 after sitting down. Don't seat people you can't wait.

I keep wanting to describe this place as an ethnic grocery/restaurant, but couldn't quite get it fit until now. If hipster is an ethnicity, this is their grocery. The place isn't that big, so the selection is by necessity eclectic. They do have quite a bit of interesting products, and some local produce and meats (though iirc, the meats are frozen). Their deli is pretty great. You can't go wrong with the sandwiches and the tacos are pretty tasty. This is great place to stop for lunch, and I'm sure all of the downtown workers are glad it's there. read more

I have very mixed feelings about this deli. The staff members were all very nice and answered my questions. The gentleman taking the order even gave me a sample of their garlic aioli sauce (which is AMAZING) and gave me a suggestion based on the three sandwiches I was contemplating. The dining area is very cute and situated near the windows, which is entertaining. I got the Roasted Potatoes with Garlic Aioli and the Spicy Chicken & Cheese Panini. The potatoes were phenomenal, while the sandwich was not up to par, in my opinion. The sandwich was soggy and the cheese had a very interesting/abnormal texture, somewhat like bleu cheese (I was expecting a cheese similar to pepper jack cheese), which made the bread very hard to eat. So happy to have learned about this place. They sell a variety of amazing brands. I am personally addicted to Nature Path Macaroon Crunch Granola Bars! Was so pleased to see Spicy Falafel Chips and bought some freshly made hummus from the deli. The hummus was the perfect blend of lemon and garlic goodness. The staff is so friendly. The meat and produce on sale is gorgeous. Can't wait to return! There is a lot of happiness in eating healthy nutritious food that doesn't make your body slow down and fight to process :) read more

What a unique market/restaurant. Stopped in for lunch and a drink on a Saturday and what a wonderful surprise in downtown Muncie. Thanks to the Yelpers in Muncie for some direction on how to order/where to place your order! The food, very fresh and unique with an emphasis on locally sourced food and drink. They have an amazing menu of Panini's and salads. The Chipotle Pork Belly sandwich was my choice along with a cup of homemade soup made a great lunch meal. There drink menu is also unique with lots of unusual beer and cider offerings along with a number beer on tap. Got to recommend this wonderful place for a lunch or early supper meal. The Downtown Farm Stand in Muncie has everything we value in purchasing and eating whole food. They're produce is ORGANIC AND LOCAL! The deli side has sandwiches that you can modify for vegetarian or vegan. The owners really care about what they're serving to their customers. The grocery store has organic foods and produce. It's a nice sized store from organic spices and organic flours to organic canned goods and local, grain fed meats and eggs. There are plenty of seats/tables to eat at and it's reasonably priced for organic/local foods. In addition to caring about their clients, they support local farmers. We are all about that! Stopped by today for a late lunch while visiting relatives in the area. We both had the Spinach melt which was delicious! Nice toasty bread with feta cheese, red onions, steamed spinach and mushrooms. Had a little orange half on the side which rounded out an excellent, lite meal. A great selection of beers to have with lunch, my partner had a California Blonde and I had some French Roast coffee which was perfect. I am in the Muncie area for the next several months and possibly permanently. I have worked in the Natural Foods/Coop Industry for over 20 years and go out of my way to support locally owned businesses and Cooperatives. I saw a Facebook post about the breakfast bowl at Downtown Farmstand. I was in a hurry that day so I decided to pick one up on the way. I also bought a small bag of Ginger root powder, and a small bag of Cinnamon powder. My Dad also bought some Ginger powder for himself on a separate bill. I was shocked when the woman behind the counter rang me up for $25.00!?!? The breakfast bowl alone was $13.00!! I thought maybe it would be a lot of food and I could eat some later in the day. I opened it up when I got in the car and it was mostly potatoes (which I know are cheap) A little bit of spinach, and not even half an Avocado. It tasted good, but was nothing special especially at that price. Like I said I was in a hurry so did not have time to go back and complain. I had to go and get some more food after I ate it as for the price there just was not much food. I have never seen prices like this on Deli items anywhere except maybe San Francisco or NYC. After I got home I opened up the spices. The Cinnamon was obviously old as it had almost no flavor, and the Ginger was old and seemingly rancid. My Dad made tea with it that night and complained it made him feel ill. I emailed them a few days later to hopefully start a dialogue and see if they were willing to resolve the issue. I asked them if they would at least refund me the price of the spices. I never received a response. This is very bad business. I would have been spending likely $60 to $70 a week in this place, especially when they start getting in lots of local produce. I have been driving an hour to Fort Wayne and shopping at Three River Coop and glad to do it for the great service! Big disappointment as I am from this area and was happy to see a decent Natural foods store I could feel good about shopping at, but I will not be returning. read more

If you are looking for fast service, go somewhere else. This place is an organic market and deli. The food is yummy although pricy. I had the Cubano and side salad. The Cubano had too much mustard. The salad was fresh and dressing was excellent. It took about 15 minutes to get these items and I was glad I found this place. read more

In the past year they have shortened the restaurant hours and ticket times and service quality has gone through the roof. This. Place. Was. Amazing. WOW!!! They make a majority of the sauces in store, so when I tried the avocado panini and tasted the garlic aioli, I died. It was so yummy! The cashier also let me have a lil sample of soup so I could know for sure I wanted to order it, great service! Good quality, okay taste, high prices, poor ventilation. This is a local place with a devout following, catering to those who are looking for organic and healthy alternatives that are not readily available elsewhere in Muncie. I appreciate that, and hope that they will be able to continue to improve and stay around for the long haul. Still, I only eat there occasionally, and a recent visit reminded me why. I heard that they had added burgers to their menu and agreed to give them another try. You can build your own, but I elected to get the Z's BBQ Burger in a double, which runs $15.99 + tax. Let me first say that if you are in any kind of hurry, a different selection should be in your sights, because this option is going to take a while. The burger was okay - I wasn't impressed by the spelt bun's taste or consistency, which disintegrated upon the first bite - although I wish he sauce had some more tang to it. It was a big burger, but $15.99 will be up to you to decide whether it is pricey or not. My main complaint on this visit, though, was the ventilation - or lack thereof. They have an enormous hood but it doesn't seem to be working at all, leaving the entire place filled with thick, dense smoke. Someone asked about it, and the workers just said they were used to it. I can stand a little smoke, but this was really irritating to the eyes and lungs, and I smelled like burnt grease the rest of the day. I just finished my Spicy Veggie Wrap and had to write a review telling you all how much I love this place. The people are friendly, there is plenty of room to sit and socialize, and the products they carry are all organic. They even sell animal and environmentally friendly household supplies and cleaning products. My only suggestion would be for them to offer Daiya and/or vegan "meats" at their deli. read more
